Spence
Arrrggghhhh.... Have you ever spent an extremely long time (it's been several years actually) wasting time trying to come up with a limitation that wasn't available in the rules? And none of your custom builds "felt" right? And this was a major hurdle in your ability to get the build right and portray your world? And then you discover that the new Advantage (new to 6th/CC) "Timed" existed and does exactly what you needed? That you didn't even remember reading about it? Gah! I am really really irritated with myself..........
Badger
Well, I do tend to get a little one-dimensional in my usage of limitations. (using one, when another would do the same thing better). I do sometimes create characters for fun, so I really don't have to worry about points, on those occasions at least. Lord Liaden
I would recommend cutting yourself some slack, Spence. You've had to deal with decades of multiple iterations of rule books literally thick enough to stop a bullet. One could teach a whole semester's college course on this stuff. Overlooking one element from the most recent rule set is not only understandable, it's almost inevitable.

I think we can at least get an Associates Degree Program out of teaching Hero.
Badger
I'm stubbornly sticking to 5e, though
Nothere
I'd disagree that its stubbornness. Spending 40 bucks for what amounts to a few tweaks seems a tad silly.
Balabanto
It's not "a few tweaks." Trust me. The ebb and flow of the math is very different.
assault
It's not "a few tweaks." Trust me. The ebb and flow of the math is very different. Which is incredibly annoying. I had the ten minute playable character down to a fine art.

Yes, missing that one part is not that exceptional. Of course you can still beat yourself up over forgetting to just ask on the Forum all that time

BoloOfEarth
Geez, Spence, how the heck could you miss that for so long! I can't believe that you didn't... Wait a sec. There's a Time Limit advantage, new in 6th? (opens 6E1 and reads) Huh. Holy $#!*, I never noticed that before. Seriously, though, Spence, if it helps, one of my Champions players has that Advantage on several of his powers, which are defined as magic spells. He drew up those spells based on the Hero System Grimoire, and when I saw it on his character sheet, I just assumed that advantage came from Fantasy Hero. Your mention of it prompted me to look it up in the 6E rulebook for the first time. And I've been running that Champions game for two years now. So you're not alone, dude. Badger
Which is incredibly annoying. I had the ten minute playable character down to a fine art. I'm not quite down to that time, but I am a little neurotic and OCD on creation. TO be honest, 5e was my intro into HERO, I got used to doing it that way, and really didn't want to have to learn new stuff.
