Online Champions Review

So I noticed that there was no real videos about the Champions/Hero System on youtube or anywhere for that matter.  There are a lot of information about other rpg stuff but as far as I could tell there was nothing explaining Champions/Hero System to anyone.

So I decided after getting my own web camera to make a series of videos myself.

So here is the video.

I appreciate all the likes but could I get a response?

I can't watch it till I get an online connection. Anyways, I love the idea. I created an Amino on Amino (a phone app for socialising) about the Hero System and Champions, but so far there are not lots of people joining, let alone posting.

I watched it. Not bad for a first time out. I would recommend researching edition history beforehand and be clear which edition you are referring to rules wise since there are differences between 6e and earlier regarding CV and other specifics. FWIW, Michael Surbrook did something similar live via google groups recently. I don't know if he's posted a recording of it yet. I believe there are other various HERO specific podcasts (sound only of course) available as well.

My friends and I are running a 5th edition Champions campaign. We all play remotely using roll20.net as our table top and skype to communicate. So we have decided to record the skype chat and post the results online!

If you want to have a listen, have a look at www.chimpions.co.uk  ;)

Cheers!

This is from further down the thread line...  I've listened to their first broadcast, and enjoyed it! The thread is "Blatant Podcast..."

Mechanon

Ogre

Pulsar

Takofanes

Grond

Gigaton

Menton & Mentalla

I would remove Takofanes, and replace him with Holocaust myself, but thats me. The rest are what I think of when I think Champions Villains. Some of them are starting villains which were usaly found in the back of the rules book. Others were iconic in one way or another. My addition, Holocaust, was always around, but we never knew because his stats were finally published in 5ed.

  • 4 weeks later...

What no Icicle or Howler? As far as I know those two leathal ladies are in half of the editions.

True. Howler, as far as I know, has been around screaming at us since the BBB. As for Icicle, she was with us since before the BBB, and is so iconic that because of Heroic Publishing we had to make do with substitute ice queens (Frostbite, a male, in the updated BBB, and Snowblind in FRED and 6ed). Unforcently, this is a top 10, so not everyone can go to the prom.

I think that top 10 list would be different as you go through the Editions of Champions. ie First/Second Edition Champions would probably be mostly the Villains at the end of the book with some from Enemies 1 and 2

3rd edition would probably be mostly the same.

4e had "Classic Enemies"

Champions New Millenium would also be different. Mostly due to a ton of villains being dead.

5e ushers in the Steve Long era which helps change the list up again.

6e has the influence of Champions Online to change the list slightly again.

Perhaps later I will put my list together for each of the eras.
