phydaux
A few quick questions regarding Fantasy Hero Complete: Does it contain racial packages for the various fantasy races? Does it contain write ups for various fantasy monsters like Orks, Goblins, Zombies, Skeletons, etc.? Thanks! phy
Cantriped
Fantasy Hero Complete has racial templates for Animal-folk (with options for different kinds of animals), Centaurs, Dwarves, Elves, Faeries, Giants, Goblins, Halflings, Reptile-Folk (not sure why they are separate from Animal-folk...), Winged-Folk. FHC has the following "ancestral and environmental" templates; aquatic, divine/infernal, elemental, lycanthrope, and vampire. FHC has the following cultural/professional templates; barbarian, city-dweller, horse-nomad, merchant/trader, seafarer, warrior; bard, knight, mage, martial artist, merchant, noble, paladin, priest, rogue, and warrior. FHC includes 6 sample characters (including a 175-point elf ranger and 175-point goblin rogue), and 11 sample monsters (including a 967-point dragon, and a 221-point giant spider). As with CC and 6th edition, the example Automaton is a "zombie". Including the digital files that come with FHC, there are a total of 18 sample characters and a total of 24 sample monsters of various point totals. The digital files also include a fairly short and simple, but well written campaign setting (which makes reference to several of the templates contained in FHC), and an adventure set in that setting. phydaux
So all the monsters are in the Bestiary?
Cantriped
Fantasy Hero Complete 227-238 has a selection of monsters, and more are included in the digital files which acompany FHC. I'm unsure how many of those monsters were drawn from the Hero System Bestiary (HSB), or what (if any) changes were made when doing so. However, HSB is almost 500 pages of monstrous goodness, and makes an excellent supplement to FHC. Few, if any, of the creatures found in the HSB will need any modification to comply with the (minor) differences between FHC and 6th Edition. Ndreare
The write ups are almost identical. Some minor math edits so they may be a few points off.

What are the point levels of the sample characters? Are they suitable to be hand-out PCs for a game run at a Con?
Cantriped
Between 175 and 300. Including all of the digital files; two at 175 points, six at 225 points, six at 275 points, and four at 300 points. Some of them are better built than others... I'm picky about such things so I can't really say whether or not they are suitable for convention play. As far as I can tell however, none of them are especially well suited to the included Campaign Setting & Adventure. If you plan to run the Val of Stalla (the included Adventure), you'll likely have to generate appropriate PCs yourself.
