More than One Hex Accurate

Lucius

Question

Sir,

I am sure I understand how "One Hex Accurate" works. If I roll against the DCV of 3, the target is hit. Dodge doesn't help, but Dive for Cover to get out of that target area does.

But suppose I get Area Effect 4 meter Radius and then apply Accurate. I still can only hit one target of course. But does the extra Radius mean

1. Just that the target would have to Dive for Cover farther to get away. If my OCV is 3, I still miss on a roll of 12?

2. The "scatter" rules are in effect, and the center of the Area is off by 2m for every 1 pt the roll fails by, meaning I have to miss by 2 to really "miss." i.e. if My OCV is 3 I have to roll a 14 to completely miss the target?

Thank you.

1. Yes, the target has to Dive For Cover for a longer distance to get out of the Area. Arguably there’s a certain lack of common sense to this, which is why Accurate typically is only applied to 1m Radius attacks. But a GM can allow whatever he wants to allow. ;)

2. If an Accurate attack misses, it misses entirely. Do not apply the normal rules for determining where the attack “lands.”
