Lets make a Comic Universe the universe

O.k. fist things first. The book breakdown poll has about as many votes as the others, so I'm doubtful theres much point in waiting for more votes. And for the first time in the polling we have a tie. As it's my thread, I'm going to break the tie. Making on of the solo books about a duo, and making two of the solo books about a duo have each received two votes. In the interest of maximizing the number of charecters, I will vote two books.  All of which means.

Our universe consists of six comics , with a kitchen sink approach to powers, the heroes spread out in fake cities, and with a modern tone. We have one team book. 2 books of a pair of heroes, and 3 solo books.

Which brings us to what I was most worried about from the beginning, how to end. Especially with the cities being fake. My first thought was to have people suggest cities and then vote on how many heroes in a city. But as we only have six books that seems silly. So I propose the following, we do both at once. People can suggest both cities and later posters can tailor the heroes to a city, or they can suggest heroes and later posters can suggest cities.

As to the duo and team books we make like the create a villain/hero threads. The first person to post names the team/duo and someone else finishes. Though bear in mind tis isn't the hero/villain threads so while theres nothing wrong with putting in a theme like the Metal Men or Xmen theres no need. Also as this is a universe be sure to mention how they get along with others. By way of example of the kind of thing I mean below is a post for minor charecters. They don't have their own book, so don't count towards the total.

The city of Garrington  isn't quite the biggest in it's southwestern state but it is among the biggest. Founded mainly off of money from oil, cattle, real estate, and farming it's recently been trying to lure in tech companies. It hasn't had much luck with electronics firms, but is starting to be a real player in the biotechfields. It has a railyard, and an airport, but sadly no sports teams. One of the biggest draws is the local rodeo. Though recently it has a new security coroperation that's attracted a lot of interest.

Julius Trub was a bit of a hellraiser in his youth. A hardworking ranch hand who would often have to explain to the cops a bit drunkenly how he wasn't responsible for the trouble someone caused over the weekend. In hopes of quelling his troublesome nature he entered the army.  Over the years the number of disciplinary actions dropped off, and he left the army on good terms. Unfortunatly his rowdy past has made it so that he has few days where something isn't stiff or aches. So he got a job as a security guard at the Istalin Chemical Company. When he caught a thief who had evaded the other guards, the company brass offered him chance to try a process for granting superpowers. Trub took it. What he didn't know was that despite what he was told, he wasn't the first volunteer. The others were mostly dead, and the few who survived mutated horribly.

Meanwhile Beatrice Benson was a pretty, perky, much liked member of the accounting department. Unfortunatly she noticed something odd about the books, and took it to the wrong supervisor. She then "volunteered" for the process. Fortunatly for the both of them this time the process worked. Julius broke free of his restraints, fought off the guards, and freed Beatrice. The two then worked together to bring the company to justice.

Julius found he had the ability to transfer kinetic energy to strength and endurance. So far he hasn't found an upper limit, it takes a while to match really super strong foes. So he tends to rely on his two .45 automatics. Though at Beatrice insistence he now only uses rubber bullets. Beatrice gained the ability to blow bubbles. She can use then to blind, or attack a foe, create a barrier, or float herself into the air. She has yet to figure out how to float others.

Beatrice decied they should become superheros and set up an office they could use to hire out to clients. She calls herself Bubble an wears a blue and white spandex costume with bubbles on it, and a blue and white domino mask. Julis Trub just wears cowboy boots, jeans, a sturdy work shirt, and a cowboy hat. Though to please Beatrice when working he has adopted the name Trouble. Now when your in trouble, if you need help, you just give them a call an whoever is bothering you will be in Double Trouble.

Bubble gets along with everybody, and other heroes tend to like working with her, but Julius is what you could call a bit crotchety and the other heros may quickly respect his field experience, they need time to warm up to him. The fact they charge for their services also tend to annoy other heroes.

Garrionton is sometimes nicknamed Lonestar City.

Double Trouble has there hands full with the flegling crime lord Lockjaw. Lockjaw was another survivor of Istalin experiments (which gave him superhuman strength and intelligence). Unlike the others, he is a paying customer (so they had to do an experiment with a good percentage of not killing him). The only downside to the experiment is that the experiment locks the jaw muscular in place (he "eats" intervinesly or drinks the thinist of soups).

Another problem for Double Trouble (Bubble and Trouble) is the criminal duo of Threat and Menace. Threat is a minor psionic who can install fear into the brains of others. Menace is a minor brick which also uses gadgets. There origin is unknown, but what is known is that they are for hire. There first appearance against Double Trouble they were hired by Lockjaw.

The second book is all about The Target, a skilled normal martial artist type who is a nice street level hero. He has a gadget vest and is skilled at tossing anything as a weapon. (Think Bullseye as a superhero with Batman's utility belt)
