Whew! Another really close call. One bearing the power of the gods, the other who essentially is a god. I don't think there's much difference in their raw power, although Cap is a much more physical fighter. Nabu has far more experience, but the Wisdom of Solomon offsets that at least somewhat.

I'll choose Dr. Fate on the basis of his extraordinary versatility. His magic can do nearly anything, while Captain Marvel's is much more narrowly focused. But I expect Fate to take a bruising.

Fate's one weakness has always been his lack of physicality. And Marvel, as a being of magic, has some resistance to it. I have to go with the Big Red.

Captain Marvel is only as powerful as each of the 7 whereas Fate is much more powerful in each of the areas plus range attacks.  Marvel has no chance if Fate knows his mind and that is Fate's power.  I am not aware of any special magical resistance.  Cap has no vulnerability to magic which is a great advantage over Superman but no special powers against magic. Explain why I am wrong, please.

I wouldn't say you're wrong. But this was a battle decided mostly by random chance. However, if this was a comic-book story, none of that would matter if the writer decreed otherwise. ;)
