MSH - Blindside

Recommended Posts

Background/History:

Ronan O'Connor was born June, 21, 1992 in Campaign City to Liam O'Connor, a personal trainer and martial arts instructor and Sarah (nee O'Hara) O'Connor is a nutritionist and physiotherapist.

The youngest of three siblings, his twin sisters Tara and Rachel doted on their little brother. They were surrounded by a large extended family. In an old Irish neighbourhood.

They were raised Roman Catholic and educated in Jesuit Schools. Ronan excelled in athletics and with his sisters help in academics as well. There were so many O'Connors in their school they formed their own clique.

Three months before Ronan would turn 13 they were at a local shopping mall when giant robots attacked a group of teens. In the chaos one of the giant robots focused on him and his sisters. "Halt Mutants!" Raising its arm it began to glow.

Under the stress their Mutant Powers Manifested. The twins powers granted them peak human physiology, lightning speed, and durability. Ronan's powers granted him superhuman physiology, lightning speed, and durability.

In the ensuing battle Ronan and the Twins focused on evacuating the innocents and the injured from the mall. Meanwhile the mutant teens battled and defeated the giant robots.

A black Jet arrived, hovering over wreckage of the shopping mall, and X-Men descended to collect their wayward charges. A holographic image of a disembodied head appeared in front of them. Hearing voice in his mind he introduces himself.

"Greetings O'Connors, my name is Charles Xavier and the teens you fought beside are my students. The giant robots are called Sentinels and they hunt Mutants."

Basically he convinces them to return with the X-Men and New Mutants to the Xavier Academy for Gifted Students.

A bald man in a powered wheelchair introduced himself as Professor Charles Xavier greeted them

A huge blue furred man introduced as Dr. Henry McCoy gave them a quick and painless medical examination.

While a beautiful red headed woman introduced as Ms. Jean Grey explained about Mutants, their Powers, and took them on a tour of the campus with the mutant teens from the shopping mall.

They were finally reunited with their parents and after a long talk with Professor X their parents agreed to allow the children to decide.

The O'Connor children agreed stay at the School for Gifted Students.

One of the surprises from Dr. McCoy's examinations was the similarities of the O'Connor children's Powers. In addition to their physical powers, lightning speed, and durability. Tara possessed Empathy Powers and Rachel possessed Healing Powers. Ronan only possessed their physical powers, but at superhuman levels.

In addition to a superior education they learned how to control and use their powers. Tara and Rachel graduated with honors and went on to study medicine.

Ronan chose a different path. Taking the code name Blindside he joined the Young X-Men and then the X-Men.

After graduation he took a year off to travel across the country.

At the end of the year he chose to join S.H.I.E.L.D.. He attended the S.H.I.E.L..D. Operations Academy and graduated to become a Superhuman Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D..

After 5 years Ronan quit S.H.I.E.L.D. and became an Independent Superhuman Agent and Superhero.

Personality/Motivation:

Powers/Tactics:
Blindside possesses an incredible superhuman physiology, lightning speed, and durability. He is an Expert Martial Artist (A), Weapons Master, and Acrobat. He was an remarkable X-Man and incredible SHIELD Agent.

Quotes:
"Bad day to be a Bad Guy" ... "You've just been Blindsided!"

Appearance:
A tall red head with bright green eyes and a dancer/martial artists physique. His fair skin and freckled complexion and features strongly hint at an Irish ancestry. He is always well dressed to blend in, but has taken to wearing black combat boots with everything.

He speaks with an Irish brogue, learned from grandparents most of the time, but never in costume.

Blindside

Ronan O'Connor

Fighting:        IN (40)    +1 CS Extra Attacks & 1 CS Weapons Master

Agility:           IN (40)    +1 CS Dodge, Evade, & Escape
Strength:       IN (40)    +2 CS Power: Raise Lowest Ability
Endurance:   IN (40)    +1 CS Mutant
Reason:        RM (30)
Intuition:        IN (40)
Psych:           EX (20)
Health:           160
Karma:           90
Popularity:      FE (0)   Starting Mutant
Resource:       TY (7)   EX (20) -1 CS Mutant GD (10)  and -1 CS for Talent TY (7)

Powers: 3/4 + 1 Mutant

GD (10) to Minimum AM (50)
Movement: Lightning Speed: The hero with this Power can move as a vehicle with a speed equal to the Power rank, as opposed to his distance per round being limited by Endurance. This Power will always be at the Endurance rank +1CS. If a lower rank is rolled, raise it to this minimum. Lightning Speed is assumed to apply to ground movement, but may be applied to any of the following Powers, if the hero has them in his possession : Flight, Gliding, Wall-crawling, or Digging. Characters with Lightning Speed can turn at maximum speed without penalty, and Agility FEATs may be made either with the Agility ability or with this Power rank. Characters with Lightning Speed can accelerate to full speed in a single round, and decelerate from full speed to full stop in the space of one area.

IN (40)
Body Alterations — Offensive: Extra Attacks: This Power is always +1CS better than the starting Fighting ability. Use this Power instead of Fighting to make multiple attacks. There is no penalty for failing with this roll, but the individual may make only one effective attack in that round.

IN (40)
Body Alterations — Defensive: Body Armor: A hero with Body Armor has a natural resistance to physical damage and, to a lesser extent, energy attacks. Body Armor does not affect attacks which have an intensity that must be checked against a FEAT roll, unless to require that FEAT the attack passes through the Body Armor. Example: A Sonic attack ignores Body Armor, as it does not need to pass through the Body Armor. A poison-tipped dagger must get through the Body Armor in order to affect the hero with the poison.

Body Control: Raise Lowest Ability: Not really a Power by any means, but a method of immediate self-improvement for a character that may be suffering from terminally low stats in a critical area (say, a Feeble Strength in a character with Body Armor, who carries a mystic sword). Only one of the seven abilities may be modified in this fashion, and then only the lowest one (if two are lowest, the hero gets to choose which one is modified). The ability is raised 20 points. The hero may then choose his next Power from the complete list. - RAISE STRENGTH EX (20) to IN (40).

Talents: 3/4 +1 from Resources

Fighting Skills - Martial Arts A: This form of martial arts concentrates on using an opponent's strength against him, and is typical of oriental- American forms such as judo and karate. The practitioner of this type of martial arts can Stun or Slam an opponent regardless of their comparative Strengths and Endurances.

Fighting Skills - Acrobatics: The hero with this Talent is very limber and as such gains advantages when under attack. The hero has a +1CS when dodging, evading, and escaping.

Weapon Skills - Weapons Master: The character with this Talent gains a +1CS to hit with any weapon that requires a Fighting FEAT to hit.

Professional Skills - Detective/Espionage: The hero with this Talent has been trained to notice small clues in solving crimes. The character with this Talent gains a + 1CS to discover clues to a crime, and in addition gains a Contact in either crime, law enforcement, law, or espionage.

Contacts: 2/4 +1 Contact Espionage (S.H.I.E.L.D.)

RM (30)
X-Men - Hero Group: The character has some connection with, or was or is a member of or an ally of some existing group of super- powered heroes, and as such may enjoy the privileges thereof. This includes using their equipment. calling them in on an emergency, using their HQ, and benefiting from their training. As an example, the Mutant Dazzler, while not a member of the X-Men, maintains a good relationship with them and has benefited from training with them. The player running this hero may choose the group, subject to the approval of the Judge. Excessive liberties taken with the privileges (cracking up three Quinjets in a row) may result in the contract's revocation. The other disadvantage (in addition to being at the group's beck and call) is that enemies of the hero group are considered enemies of this hero as well. A hero who belongs to a group is always considered to have that group as a Contact lance an Avenger, always an Avenger).

EX (20)
S.H.I.E.L.D. - Detective/Espionage: The hero with this Contact has a friend, ally, or acquaintance with Law-enforcement Talent, who is in addition a member of the law-enforcement profession. This may include forces of local and state police and the national guard, and may vary in rank from knowing a patrolman (Excellent rank knowledge of the world at large. Remarkable of his beat), being on good terms with a Detective (Remarkable knowledge of criminal investigation. plus detective skills), or being well-known to a station captain or commissioner (Remarkable Resources, limited to that material which police forces normally have). Note that the higher the Contact. the more likely the Contact will get in touch with the hero when he needs help.

RM (30)
Avengers - Hero Group: The character has some connection with, or was or is a member of or an ally of some existing group of super- powered heroes, and as such may enjoy the privileges thereof.
