Christougher
I'm trying to find the right build Advantages for a a tornado like effect. It has three powers: Energy Blast, Telekinesis and Change Environment. Area of Effect is added to the first two, and Constant to the first, so all powers have identical effects: AOE Constant. The power(s) are intended to turn on and stay on, centered on her, and moving with her until she decides to turn them off. Do they need to be Uncontrolled? Is it just a Multiple Power Attack ? Is there some other mechanic or method to do this I'm not thinking of? Chris. PS: This isn't about making it an Elemental Control or Unified Power, that's handled. CptPatriot
Generally speaking, the assumption is that the powers will not be used in any other way but together. That being said, essentially the powers are Linked together. If they stay on until turned off, Persistent is applicable also. Uncontrolled isn't needed as since the power travels with you. I believe you would need to define the behavior of the Telekinesis but not sure how.
IndianaJoe3
Uncontrolled would be necessary if she wants to keep the power going while performing other attacks or full-phase actions.
dsatow
Uncontrolled would be necessary if she wants to keep the power going while performing other attacks or full-phase actions. Continuous allows this. Uncontrolled would mean the power would continue regardless of what the player did or had happened. Persistent would allow it to function even if they are stunned or unconscious. Uncontrolled would be necessary only if the power was in a multipower and the slot was changed. mrinku
I agree that continuous is all you'll need here. An appropriate AOE no range sounds about right to me. Cone, with a hole in the middle, the cone extending upwards and the character centred in the AOE might be one neat way to define the area. That way it would extend down below them to a point while flying, but be a radius when everyone's on the ground. And Hole in the Middle could extend from the character up to the top for an "eye of the storm" effect if you're looking for a weakness (if not, a bubble around the character will do).
