Woolshedwargamer
I have not run a Hero System campaign in a long time. Been playing Harnmaster and D&D 5e. I have every edition of Champions/Hero System and in discussion with my friends we have decided we were happiest with 4th Ed and are returning to a high fantasy campaign using that rule set. Now to re-familiarize myself with the intricacies of the system. Cheers Brian
mrinku
Welcome back! I was also away for a while (and skipped 5e) but came back earlier this year when a friend gave me Champions Complete and some other stuff he no longer wanted. Even if you run with 4e, there are some useful changes in 6e that you might want to look at... though to be honest most of them (such as getting rid of figured characteristics) have less relevance to Heroic campaigns. Decoupling combat value from DEX is probably the most important change. You can now have a high DEX thief who sucks at combat, for example. Ninja-Bear
Yes, welcome back. One thing that changed since 4th that’s nice is Block resolution. Roll to see if the Block works first before to see if it hits. If you have a person with a high OCV, it speeds up game play.
Christopher R Taylor
Welcome back Game play is almost totally identical in 6th, just some changes to character build and a few new powers.
