Superheroine Team Names

Hi all,

Starting up another Champions RPG campaign with a bunch of new players who are new to RPG.  As it happens all are women and playing female characters, and I wanted to offer some suggestions for a team name since they are all new to this.  I am looking for a serious name that is not offensive, one that denotes strength but also may highlight the fact that it is an all female group.  The characters consist of an angel warrior, a sorcerer, and a time traveler who can create portals to teleport through.   They are based in San Angelo, CA.  There are not many examples to draw from for this...except from FemForce, Birds of Prey, Fearless Defenders, and A-Force.  Fearless Defenders is the closest in make-up to this team it would appear.  Thanks for any suggestions you may give.

Marvel has the Lady Liberators. And there's the Amazons, of course.

Something with "Sisters" in it should be reasonably solid. It highlights the group's gender, gives a sense of mutual support and doesn't imply sexualisation or "ladies auxiliary".

Why does the name need to reflect gender at all? What if a male player joined the group?

Or rather, what if someone wanted to join who wanted a male character?

As for a group name, how about "The Guardians?"

Lucius Alexander

The palindromedary has a Y chromosome and a Y-not? chromosome

Get them a guy named Charlie to finance the team, and you can have Charlie's Angels.

Seriously, though, I noticed that the team has an angel warrior and is based in San Angelo, so a riff on "Angel" or "Angelo" would fit.  Am I safe to assume that is a fictional town?

Since "Guardian" is a synonym for "Angel," I'd also second Lucius' suggestion (though I'd include another word included, like "New Guardians" or "Guardian Angels").

What are the three heroines' names?

Thanks for the replies, they have been very helpful and interesting!  The name of the three characters are Guardian Angel (the leader), Portal and Spellbound.  I suppose eventually that there is a possibility that male characters may join, if that happens the name could be changed, but I thought since it is rare to have an all female group formed that is why I am looking at the name to reflect that.   San Angelo is a fictional city, it was a supplement that could be used for Champions much like Millennial City, however it is based on the West Coast in California where we are all living.

Hmmm... since Guardian Angel is the name of the leader, I wouldn't use that in the name of the group.

With California's Spanish origins, you could go with Bella Guardia (Beautiful Guard).  Or Bellezas de Angelo (Beauties of Angelo).  I'm not trying to go with a physical appearance thing, I was just trying to work a variation of "Belle" in there some way, since it has a feminine sound to it.

Or you could go Latin.  Domina Angeli (Lady Angels) has a nice ring to it.  If GA is an old-school angel, something Latin might appeal to her.

I love all these ideas, they are really well thought out!  I think I am going to go with the name the Furies, which was suggested by Cassandra!  Since the Furies were three female spirits of justice and vengeance.  Sounds like a good description for our ladies' sg.  I shared with one of them the name and the meaning behind it, and she loved it!  Thanks all for your help!
