Conventions

Here's the scoop on Hero and conventions. Contact Darren if you have questions that aren't answered here.

Q: What conventions does Hero attend every year?

A: You can always find us at:
- DunDraCon (mid-February; San Ramon, CA)
- Origins (early July; Columbus, OH)
- GenCon (early-mid August; Milwaukee, WI)

Additionally, Steve usually attends several small conventions in or near North Carolina, and DragonCon (late August-early September; Atlanta, GA), every year. Darren also attends WonderCon and other San Francisco Bay area conventions throughout the year.

Q: Can I get someone from Hero Games to come to my convention?

A: Steve and Darren both enjoy attending conventions as guests. It's a great way to meet the fans and see what's going on in the gaming hobby.

If you want a Hero luminary to come to your convention as a guest, here's what you have to provide them:
-travel: buy them a plane ticket (or pay for their gas if they drive)
-room: a hotel room for the length of the convention
-admission: naturally, you have to let 'em into the convention ;)

Additionally, they appreciate money for food and related expenses, but they don't insist on it.

If you'd like to get Steve or Darren to attend your convention, ask them as far in advance as possible! Their schedules book up quickly, not only with conventions but the daily grind of publishing fine roleplaying games.

Q: I can't afford to bring Steve or Darren in; what if I just want someone to run an official Hero game?

A: We can handle that, too. Our Legion of Heroes includes volunteers from all over the country who attend cons and run HERO System games. Contact Steve Long and he'll see if we can find someone in your area who can represent us at your con.

Q: Can Hero Games provide tournament prizes or charity auction items for my convention?

A: Within reason, sure. We're a small company, so we can't afford to send a huge box of goodies to anyone who asks, but we like to support worthwhile conventions as much as possible. Contact Darren (Darren@herogames.com) about getting the support you need.
