About This File

This export template is intended to present everything you need to play in four pages as long as you keep the number of items to display within certain limits. Exceeding the limits adds a page, and usually doesn't look good doing it.

  • The first page can support around 5 to 7 Perks, 5 to 7 Talents, and 10 to 12 Complications.
  • The second page can support around 40 Skills and 20 to 25 Martial Maneuvers.
  • The third page can support around 30 to 35 powers and equipment descriptions.
  • The fourth page can support a page worth of Background and Personality description.

What's New in Version 1.0.1   See changelog

Released

  • Added break tags to text fields that people often add lines breaks to such as Quote, Backstory, and Personality. The break tags ensure that any line break you enter in your Hero Designer file also display in your HTML file. Note: This update may not play well with any HTML code you've already added directly to your Hero Designer files. If you add HTML code to your source files (like I do), you'll want to remove the line breaks between the HTML code to avoid a lot of wasted whitespace.
  • Updated both the complete and the variation template.
  • Note that the variation template provides more space for complications than the normal template does. The variation template works well for super heroic PCs with lots of issues to work through. I'm not responsible for any damages you cause the sacred timeline by using this variant template.

This is great!  One suggestion I would offer to improve this would be to inject the BR tag in-between the opening and closing tags for powers/tactics, background, personality, appearance and other fields that allow free-form text to preserve the line spacing and breaks a player puts into those fields.  I did this for my copy to get just what I wanted for a character sheet - attached it here to save others the trouble.

The break tags are a good addition for anyone who doesn't want to add HTML code directly into their HDE files, which I suspect is most people. I, of course, am one of those weirdos who adds HTML code directly to their HDE files.
