This week's award goes to Chris, for: "In my experience, Neanderthals *always* attack aliens." This replaces the previous title-holder, from Jason: "I made my INT roll, and I've decided to do it anyway." dw

(I tried searching and didn't see anything that matched. Apologies if this has already been scooped.) Most of us are familiar with HeroMachine (if you're not, give it a look, it's pretty nifty). In the last day or so, I learned about a similar online toy that generates art in the style of the DC animated shows. EDIT: I've been asked to put in the new link that actually works. Here you go: http://fabricadeherois.blogspot.com/ Here's a sample, one of my long-running PCs, Troubadour: Enjoy! (EDIT: I did put the final product through Photoshop, but only to insert his proper chest insignia. Everything else is from the program.)

(Inspired by the Villain Theme Team thread) Just for fun, I thought we might collectively create a few villain theme teams. All of the members have to match the theme, whether in name, powers, or appearance. A bit of obscurity (as in Blue Raja from the Mystery Men movie) is acceptable as long as the poster explains how the character actually relates to the team's theme. Descriptions of each character (appearance, personality, powers, etc.) can be as brief or as detailed as the poster wishes. Full writeups aren't necessary. Here's the guidelines: Someone provides a theme and a number of members, and then posters that follow can provide a character or two…

Just thought I would start a thread for anyone who wanted to post thier images of their characters. This is not a critique thread. I'm not an artist and the images I post are simply templates with a bunch of cut and paste with some shoestring and leather attached. (8^D) This thread is for those who wish to share thier artwork. However, please do not critique any artwork unless the artist asks for it. Thanks. (8^D) - Christopher Mullins

A spin-off from the Create a Villain Theme Team thread. These heroes can be potential (not-so) friendly rivals to your PCs or just flavor characters for other parts of your game world (if your heroes are in New York and they need to hit Los Angeles or France or Japan for a case). Perhaps these heroes only focus on a particular fringe element like animal rights, space travel or protecting Delaware. Maybe they're Rust Age to your PCs Four-Color or vice versa. They could be altruistic or mercenary. Team Name: Number: Theme/Motive: Remember! Once you post the last hero of a team, you then come up with the next concept! ***** Team Name: The Even-Odds…

The Rules: First one person posts an image that is or could be a superhuman. Then others submit a name, powers and basic background. This doesn't have to include Champions mechanics or be in the Champions universe. Once three submission are done or a week has passed then the person that posted the original image picks the best description. Then that poster can post an image or pass it on. Then the first person to post an image takes their turn. Hopefully this will be fun and provide some inspiration for NPCs if nothing else. First Image

Since I'm running Mutants and Masterminds, but in a predominant Champions universe, I thought I would share some of my doodles as I get them done for my game. I'll post stuff here occasionally. this particular beastie is being written up in MM, but was already featured as a Champions critter. Neil has the file on this one (as do I, but it is so buried in my mac, and it is a creation workshop file and won't be read by my mac) I'm hoping y'all can convince him to post it here. Anyways the art is below. Have fun. {If you are curious about the MM stats, here is the thread to that...page 7} http://www.greenronin.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1570

Never bring a gun to a swordfight. Don't fly higher than you can fall. Terminal velocity is your friend. Growth is the amazing power to make yourself an easy target. Never call someone "dead" until you finish the autopsy. Being dead doesn't necessarily stop people from making trouble There is no idea so stupid that it can't be used to hurt people. You can't mass produce awesome. Always make your capes detachable. Always know which walls are load-bearing.

Yes, you read that correctly, the development process for the 6E version of Aaron Allston's influential Champions supplement, Strike Force, has begun. Right now we're in the requirements gathering phase, where we look over the old book, the accumulated campaign histories, and other documents, and decide how to present it all to readers old and new. With this in mind, I wanted to ask a few questions of Champions and Hero System fans: What do you remember most about the Strike Force book? The art? The characters? The advice? The house rules? How did you use the book in your campaigns? Did you simply borrow characters and concepts? Did you adopt the house rules? …

Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game They are whiney little babies, then. I was the only tank (Inv/SS) on two different Frostfire missions and not only was able to manage the aggro just fine, but was complemented on the fact that no one died, at all, during either mission, because I kept the aggro under control. The days of herding are over. Fine. The lost art of single-mob taunting is making a comeback.

From time to time I'll post small bits here. Mostly to keep psyber624 from drooling all over the board. Some of these may not be used. Some already have a place in the grand scheme of things.

Ok folks. I just noticed an announcement for a new product. "Forgotten Enemies #1". The first one focuses on Gryphon, Halfjack (who had 5th edition stats in the VIPER book), and Hideous. I don't own this book yet, but, well... Is Halfjack still a member of VIPER's Dragon Branch? Is Hideous still the rampaging beauty smasher, or is he more akin to Jason Vorhears, killing anyone who enters his territory? Has Gryphon devolved into a mindless beast, or has he recovered some human intelagence? Also, who would YOU like the author to tackle next? Mine is Timemaster, followed by Road Kill.

The purpose of this thread is to tie up links between the groups in the Create Hero and Villain Theme threads and discuss them. It will also state where names have come up in more than one post such as the Golden Guardian and Lamia. It will also contain a list of the Heroes and Villains in a quasi notepad form which will enable us to quickly reference the names and ideas on the site. (as opposed to Bolo's excellent PDFs. And provided I can keep it up to date). This post will also contain an index for the rest of the thread and mention which themes have been done or repeated. Post 2. Hero and Villain team themes and creators Post 3 Hero teams and members Post 4 Villa…

If this has been covered in the past I apologize as I'm new to the forums but I've been searching for quite some time now for a certain style character sheet for Champions 4th edition (I believe -- It's product #450). The sheet was one sided, had the character portrait on the lower right hand side with the disadvantages section above it and a generous section for powers next to it on the lower left hand side. The reason I want this particular sheet is because I started my gaming hobby with this version of Champions, have numerous books for it (I also own 5th and 6th edition, but I prefer 4th edition) and this particular sheet just... feels like home, for lack of a bette…

OK over in the thread "Does Champions need an intro campaign book" everyone agreed that having a basic stripped down super simple campaign and starting characters to help new players and GMs get rolling would be a terrific idea. However, we also agreed that this would have to be super cheap or free to be useful to the game and the gaming community. The principle idea is to have a basic beginner adventure series with basic beginner characters and a campaign structure that GMs can use to introduce and teach Champions to players. This adventure would help start up a campaign, and act as a tutorial not only for the players, but the GM. Its main features would inc…

So I will be doing my interpretations from Omlevex, Gurps SuperThugs, Trouble with HAVOC, and Silver Age Sentinals. So first up Omlevex and their signature hero So changes I did: Upped the stats a bit, gave him more armour, speedster MA and more skills. Basically as described he's a Speedster with some gadgets. But as written his damage is pathetic and his movement is slow. These are his defining characteristics. I think now he makes a decent NPC. Certainly playable as a PC.

Hey Guys and gals, Just recently I've been watching the PreCure Series and was wondering one thing: in a world full of superheroes and heroines would there be an Magical Girl team co existing in the Champions UNiverse? If so how would they react to the magic war raging around them and how would the magic girls react to supervillians and vigilantes? Well Friends and neighbors, Here's the Phantom's Challenge to all you Champions GMs out there: Create a Magic Girl or Mystic teen in training for your Champions Campaign and intro them into the CU history timeline or better yet design one to compete or work with the Court Of Dreams campaign. Send in a Pic along with a backgroun…
