Has anybody out there created 1" hex scale maps with software for Champions Battlegrounds that you could share so I could print them out and use them? Thanks! Nick

Well, i've this NPS, RedCap; she is a very beautiful girl, pretty face, hot curves and very goodlooking... she WAS a very beautiful girl... she was secretary of an university laboratory, when an explosion occurred; some radiation invested the facility, and with allarm all peaople are evacuated without casualties... NEARLY all people evacuated... She was hitted by radiation, that radiation have orribly scarred her right leg, right arm, right tight, right side of the face... horrible veins are visible trourough a pallid skin... now she bear a mask, and a costume that cover her right side and even if she can "sense" energy, "absorpe" energy, "suppress" energy,…

FYI, Ben just posted the monthly update to the Rules FAQ. The PDF will be updated whenever those who update it have the time and inclination to do so. If you have any questions, please post 'em in the "Company Questions" thread of the same name.

Okay folx, my first champions game is in about an hour. I have the first adventure planned out and blank forms, pregens, pre-rolled damage, et cetera. However, this is my first time GMing since 96. It's also my first time GMing HERO. Any last minute advice, comments, or prophecies of destruction? Thanx in advance

I'm currently working on my timeline for my Champs game, and I need a team name to create a very specific connotation, and am drawing a blank. Much like other timelines I'm doing a "timeline follows comics style" thing. The gunmetal age is a result of of the UN superteams the IST (international super teams)* The IST is allowed on US soil in early mid nineties, and by late 90's has full US police powers. The IST member nations (and IST itself) have a lot of control of who can be supers, and who can't - this leads to many good heroes being a little more extreme; as they are outlaws due to the IST. Then scandal erupts and it turns out that the IST were the pawns o…

hello. i'm considering picking up champions. my questions are: 1) does anyone play the game using an online role playing client like WebRPG? i have nobody in the area to play the game with and i think that would be more convenient for me anyway. 2) is it easy to modify the game for solo missions? like if i wanted to DM for 1 friend and have him play solo missions or to control a full super team by himself? 3) what are the best books to start with, besides the core rules? thanks in advance for any advice.

I have a player working on a new character with a weird disadvantage. The PC has gaps in his memories that include his origin. He was Shanghied and awoke floating on jetsom in the South China Sea with a new cybernetic arm. He has boosted reflexes and healing. Think Wolverine with out the cutlery or attitude. The disad is this: whomever upgraded our hero also installed a subroutine in his brain that compels him to comit assassinations and other crimes in his sleep. The PC has no knowlege of his crimes and since he's bought down his sleep requirements with LS, it doesn't happen often. The mystery villian may also be monitoring the PC through his own senses... How …

I'm currently working on a side campaign which is a Reality Show "Making The Superteam" ala "Making The Band". The contestants are heroes who's codenames run from 'A to Z'. After coming up with 23 heroes (No Q or Z), I got stuck on 'R'. So I humbly ask the learned panel for some suggestions. The ground rules: No Trained Humans/Superagents or Mystics: Powers must be provable by science. No Powered Armor: No storebought hereos. No Weaponsmasters or Gadgeteers unless they have superpowers as well. No Psionics: Can't have them influencing the audience/judges. I have a full compliment of EPs and Metamorphs, so I'd like to avoid another unless they wer…

OK, here's the challenge: Stat out ssome supers as they FIRST appeared. In their first issue. No XP added on. I would have said "Year One," but let's not allow any mutation into this at all. A lot can happen in a year. Let's look at first, maybe second or third, issues. I have in front of me Superman From the 30's to the 80's. which has a reprint of the first Superman, so let's start with him! Ok, the cover shows Supes in the classic car over the head pose. It looks pretty big, no logo. Let's assume it's a current year car. So, looking around on Google, the average weight of a similar car seems to be around 1.5 to 2 tons. This one looks on the heavy side, so le…

Yesterday, I was posting to my online game as the GM and I wanted to have a Primus Agent at the meeting. I didn't have my Primus book handy and I also wasn't sure I wanted a full-fledged Silver Avenger at a police meeting in coastal Mississippi. So, I created, on the fly, a new level of Avenger, the Bronze. The idea is that the Bronze Avengers are one per state and are the top of the top, much like Silver Avengers. The difference? They are Avengers that, for one reason or another, are physically unable to use Cyberline. They are given a suit that gives them hardwire connections between a visor and their weapons, small gadget pool, and the suit is wired to improve th…

So, we've had "Shades of Black" up for a bit more than a week now, and to be honest, despite rave reviews from those who do have it, sales so far have been pretty disappointing. As the first release in what we hope will become a new line for us, that's a matter of some concern. So, let's open up the discussion. Why haven't you bought this product? Not interested in modules? Not interested in this particular module, but might be in others? Not interested in PDFs at all? Plan to get it but don't have any cash? Let us know the scoop!

Has anyone worked up (or know of a link to) a set of protocols that might be used for Stronghold. If possible, I'd like to see info the handling/storage of "dangerous" foci. Like, what happens to all those power armor villains when/if they get captured?

Another thread got me to thinking a bit about religious super heroes. They do occur in comic books. Some it barely gets mentioned, some few are quite devout in their faith. Examples that come to mind are Nightcrawler, Firebird, and Daredevil. Both Kitty Pryde and Ben Grim are Jewish. Within Champions own Universe, we get a plethora of infernal and dark villains to twhart and confound our heroes. While a brief mention is made in the CU book itself on relations between super heroes and religions, there are few if any superheroes that seem to have faith in their lives. Some would see it as too serious a thing to tackle for games like this, others would see it as t…

Hey guys, I need some help, a little inspiration to be exact. I'm running a game in an upcoming convention and I have a 6 hour time limit (Well, it's the last game on that table for the evening, so I actually have until the wee hours of the morning or until everyone gets too tired to play). My question is, what would be a good one-shot scenario to run? I don't want to run the cliche bank or museum robbery. So, sugestions anyone? Mags

So, I have a character who's able to move gracefully and near-effortlessly. The net effect I want is being able to make a full move with only a half phase action. The best way I can think of to buy this is extra inches of running, limited 'only to make half moves.' So if I have running 10", I buy another 10", limited. Any better ideas for this construct? And what sounds like a good value for the limitation - -1 was sounding right to me, similar to 'only to jump up' for jumping. Ends up being 2 points per extra inch of half-move (seeing as movement is halved for a half-move).

I just converted MnM's "Time of Crisis" to Champs and I think its going to be pretty fun. I know there have probably been posts asking this but, game system aside, what is your favorite Superhero "module"?

Greetings, My FLGS told me that they expect the Viper book to come in Monday or Tuesday. I am looking forward to getting this book... some of the people in my group have long liked to fight Viper, but I have not really known much more about them (other than what they have told me, and if all my info is based upon the players, then there isn't likely going to be a lot of suprises). I was thinking about running a story of a Viper global rebellion (I mean an active guerrilla war in open rebellion against 'civilization' or the 'powers that be'). It might start out somewhat secret... doing "normal" viper type activities... the players come to expect it is another v…

Please check out http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8265 if you have any interest in contributing re a request for some Lovecraft help. It is a LONG post (sorry, but lots of details), but even if you just skim through you'll get the gist and might be able to help. I feel it's okay to cross-post since this IS a Champions game, just with this weird element now. Thanks.

150 Disavantage points too restrictive? 1 2

So I've finally convinced my gaming group to play Champions Fifth Edition. We've had two 4th ed campaigns going off and on but I've wanted to play 5th since it's been out. It will also be my first time GMing Champions. Anyway, this is the first time we'd actually be playing 200/150 point characters but they're bitching at me that 150 in disads is too restrictive to play. Is this the case? Or is it just that they don't want to roleplay all those points? They've suggested playing 250/100. Is this a good idea? Any insight would be appreciated.

I might have an opportunity to bring new players into the fold, so I'm looking for a good introductory adventure. Here are the traits I'm looking for: 1) Simple characters: ideally they should be usable with the Sidekick rules (for those playtesters who can tell ), but in any event they should be easy for non-Hero people to decipher. 2) Good exposure to the rules: this means some combat, some skill use, some powers use, etc. Any suggestions?

Okay, we've heard the gaming horror-stories, worst moments, etc. Now it's time for everyone to post the Worst Character Concept they've ever seen. I'll roll out my old standard as example, one I first shared with the world back in 2001 on the Hero Mailing List: I may as well share the Worst Character Concept Ever, submitted to me by a prospective player in a Champions game was going to run (but never got off the ground): The Superlative (Invincible, Indestructible, etc.) Hammer-Wheel. The Invincible Hammer-Wheel's power is that he has hammers for hands and wheels for feet. Or it could have been wheels for hands and hammers for feet. The player himself wasn…

Across from Millennium City is the “relatively peaceful†Canadian city of Windsor. It’s that relative term that has me thinking. Given that MC has more super action than many cities twice its size, Windsor must get at least a little fall out. Besides, while other cities in Canada have super heroes and super hero teams (Comet, Starforce), the official Canadian super team keeps breaking up so maybe it’s just not working for Canada on a national level. It must be awfully annoying to Windsor to have their city overshadowed, in part because it misses out on the super hero action (Remember, this is a comic book universe….if you don’t have super heroes, you might…
