Heya From a discussion with Dean Shomshack, I realized that I had a bunch of concept for villains that I wasn't sure on how to build them. For example, Human Centipede (aka Crowd Control), whose powers are : Crowd Control - Simon's power is nothing short of horrifying and is, no doubt, responsible for his mental issues. When Simon invokes his power, anyone nearby suffered a complete collapse of their body into its component parts, limbs, torso and head. Some of the heads remain on the ground, somehow still able to scream without lungs. The torso and limbs and the rest of the heads form themselves into a horrifying, monstrous human …

Would Marvel Comics' Avengers, possible with branch teams, fit into the Champions Universe? They might operate in conjunction with either PRIMUS or UNTIL instead of SHIELD.

Never bring a gun to a swordfight. Don't fly higher than you can fall. Terminal velocity is your friend. Growth is the amazing power to make yourself an easy target. Never call someone "dead" until you finish the autopsy. Being dead doesn't necessarily stop people from making trouble There is no idea so stupid that it can't be used to hurt people. You can't mass produce awesome. Always make your capes detachable. Always know which walls are load-bearing.

Looking to run a Champions game where the players can use standard equipment without paying for it. Now the game would definitely have aspects of Dark Champions but still allow the characters to be 400 points with full powers. The difference would be that characters an utilize standard equipment, including guns, without having to pay the points for them.

In a world where an AI being like Mechanon exists, I’m wondering if currency like Bitcoin even exists in the CU. AI beings could easily use it for transactions, since they would have their own wallets built in, so to speak. I could see it being used by supervillains or maybe villainous groups to quietly move money around. A group the size of VIPER might even have their own blockchain banking system using their own cryptocurrency to do transactions between Nests and associated organizations. VCoins might be a thing in the CU.

This villain is named The Golden Hand. What powers would you suggest he have? Note: his powers might not have anything to do with his name.

Hey everybody. I'm starting work on an Argent supplement. Was just curious what people thought and would like to see in the supplement.

How do you create Creatures? Do you start with the characteristics? OCV and DCs? Written descriptions? What if you run into conflicts with, for example, Dexterity and DCV? Do you adjust Dexterity and all the associated effects, or just choose what seems to be a good value for DCV and OCV and all the Dexterity based Skills and Powers? How do you handle Mental attacks on something that doesn’t have a “human” mind? Like a sparrow or troll or gorilla? What about Presence attacks on creatures that just don’t care? Like a fish or golem or cat? Because cats just don’t care. Having played Hero for decades, I just realized that I’v…

Most Champions games I run are based in a city (usually New York) and a superhero team establishes itself (through a unifying adventure) or else the players and I establish the background of the team forming etc. before actual gameplay begins. In long-running campaigns, the story is just a matter of an ever-evolving roster of heroes. But there are other ways of running Champions. I enjoyed doing a campaign that was sort of like the X-Men, with heroes on the run from a government and a society that had no tolerance for superhumans. What about you? Any Champions campaigns that differ greatly from the Avengers/Justice League template?

So I have some new people who have never played an RPG before. So I was thinking about running something rules light. However, before that I was considering getting back into my first love, Champions. So have you ever ran Champions or Hero System for newbies. Did it work? What did you do to make it work?

There's a lot of writing going on here on these boards of late, and I admit, it's been tempting. Too tempting. So terribly tempting that I lost the battle, and have given in. But that brings up another problem: Time. I don't have time to write like I had years ago, before the kids-- and _certainly_ not like the time I had before the wife. Honestly, if any single guys out here find themselves routinely bored or wondering what to do with the copious amounts of free time on your hands, get married. Boredom may still be problem, but it will be far less frequent. Free time, however, will disappear completely; you have my word. …

OK. @Stanley Teriaca suggested a set of adventures for new GMs. I want to try out new ways of planning adventures and so am going to use the ideas on the Champions NEXT thread to prompt those. If I can settle myself to it, I will try to get full write-up and post. I want to use this as a holder for discussing the adventure, as I see it, and for related questions. I plan to have three scenes, 1 - meeting the Flock, 2 - Thwarting the theft, 3 - Cleaning out the Nest. I have some base premises: Flock can fly faster than PCs. Flock have good connections Flock have resources Flock are arrogant Flock a…

Been Slowly going through my Champions books, particularly 4th edition, and seeing a number of.....flubs for lack of a better word. Now the most obvious Is the "Bolshivek Boys" from Golden Age Champions...seems half a character sheet is missing, and one is completely absent But it's not the only one...character point totals not adding up right (most recent example I found was Minotaur from "Invaders From Below" Or abilities completely absent like Libra's "Ego Transfer" attack mentioned in her tactics but not on her sheet either Was crious if there was anything...official or otherwise that fixes those bugs?

Ok. Let's say for charity a group of superheroes get together to do a version of the Olympic games. What events would your super preform in?

Deathorb. A former Argent scientist who got caught in an accident when the experimental plasma energy generator power engine he was experimenting on exploded and flooded his body and his experimental plasma shielding suit with plasma energy. His body is actually composed now of 'solid plasma' which mimics his former physical body. In this form he can negate gravity for himself and shoot orbs of hot plasma. He doesn't need to eat or sleep or breathe anymore (He 'eats' by absorbing impurities in the air like dust and such, has no physical breathing system to choak, and no physical body which needs sleep). His body is rather resistant to physical and energy damage. …

The Kings' invasion of the Multiverse billions of years ago saw them destroying/consuming many dimensions, which lead to an interdimensional alliance of Great Powers banding together to destroy many of the Kings and sealing away those that could not be destroyed. Aside from a few esoteric names like the Fire-Bearer, the Lords of the Jeweled Spider, the Angel of Cold Shadow, etc., we don't get much information on the Great Powers. What I'm wondering is, were the Kings only a threat to the material worlds of Assiah or to the entirety of existence? The Great Powers could have been powerful beings from worlds like Earth, entities from the Outer Planes of Yetzirah …

What would your character do if he awoken one day and suddenly know when and how they would die, and know that they can't change it. The title refers to Dio's Heaven Plan, from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.

OK I have started to convert old adventures printed in previous magazines etc. They just need a bit of updating to modern tech and culture, a bit of converting to 6th edition, some bits of added info, and illustrations. They don't take long to do, the art will be the slow part, but the conversions are pretty simple. I plan on releasing these as "Champions Classics" for cheap if it all works out. We get a few dozen of these things out on the internet and no GM has an excuse for not having anything to run!

I have a player who is very familiar with firearms but likes to bend the rules. A lot. So, I’m looking for rules that simulate shotguns in a way that is familiar to him, including different gauges and loads, but don’t ignore the short-comings of spreading lead pellets over a potentially large area. I searched this forum and found Duke Bushido’s discussion and recommendations for websites on a Steampunk thread. These were very helpful for me, but before I started creating rules from scratch I decided to see what was already out there. I figured the most detailed rules would be in the original Twilight2000 book. But there are no rules for pellet spr…

This is an idea I am playing with right now possibly for Champions Rises. Heroic interludes are little bits that a GM can throw in between scenes, little bits that only take a few minutes to resolve, but give the players a sense of being HEROIC rather than just guys in costumes who beat each other up. They can be thrown in as hero travels somewhere or is out on the job, something between the adventure steps. Just a little thing, then you move on. One or two of these a session, and your heroes will start to feel like real heroes. You hero spots... Car on fire, need to rescue people inside (before it blows?) Hostage holding woman with knife, co…

So I recently have joined in a Champions game online that takes place in an alternate world where the Axis won WW2 and both the Japanese and the Nazis have taken over most of the United Sates. Our characters are resistance fighters trying to liberate America. So it got my to thinking, what would your past and present characters be like in a world where the Japanazis had taken over? Give me your alternate takes.

Countdown is the newest cyborg member of the punk band slash villain group Argent Anarky, and the idea behind him is kinda an proxy of Mean Machien Angle from Judge Dread. There is an LCD number display on him, starting at 9 and going to 0. And the lower the number, the angrier and more powerful he gets. I was thinking a slowly increasing Hand To Hand Attack depending on the number showing. He can only have say +2d6 when he is at 8 or below, an additional +2d6 when he is at 6 or below, +2d6 when he is at 4 or below, +2d6 more when he is at 2 or below, and finally another +2d6 when he reaches 0. Also once he reaches say 4 he starts to overheat (heat based damage shield). …

Well, to think up Fenris, the daughter of Falcho and commander of his agent groups. 1) I need a good name for her secret identity (considering she actually keeps one). A good female Danish name, which of course I am not qualified to give her. She might give it as "Fenris Falchodoter", but that obviously isn't her birth name. 2) Think of weapons. As part of her costume, her right gauntlet can change into a wolves head which has three 'modes'. One is a wolf head clugel (Hand-to-hand Attack). Two is it opening it's jaws and clamping down (Melee Killing Attack, Contanious, plus a linked +STR only to grab). Third is a limited ice generato…

The Rules: First one person posts an image that is or could be a superhuman. Then others submit a name, powers and basic background. This doesn't have to include Champions mechanics or be in the Champions universe. Once three submission are done or a week has passed then the person that posted the original image picks the best description. Then that poster can post an image or pass it on. Then the first person to post an image takes their turn. Hopefully this will be fun and provide some inspiration for NPCs if nothing else. First Image
