So the PCs walk into a factory to fight two villains, one a high-dex blaster and one is a probability warper. The PCs have so far been steamrolling enemies, consistently punching way above their weight class, and this should not have been different. Three experienced heroes and two 300pt summons and two 200pt summons walking into this room, they're rolling deep against two 350pt villains and six 100pt minion robots. They absolutely should have slapped this fight down. First roll of the fight is a 18, autofail for a roll that could only have failed on a 18. I rolled to see where the missed blast goes, and it's the worst possible place and sets off a chain reaction of …

I was curious about how players and GM's handle Eurostar nowadays in their games. I was always a fan of Fiacho's (or even Fenris's) band of villains, as their role as super terrorists...a concept that was ahead of it's time...coupled with a unique goal of a unified Europe stuck out to me. I had always hoped that after "Book of the Machine", "Book of the Destroyer" and "Shades Of Black", we may have one day seen a "Eurostar Manifesto" book With the creation of the European Union in 1993, the the introduction of the Euro in 1999 Europe is arguably more unified than ever (with the exception of Brexit of course)...as an American I have a skewed viewpoint, but of…

Hey all. Do any of you know of any condition tokens that work will with Champions? Instead of having the GM keep tabs on who may be CON stunned, stunned, entangled, etc. I know there are tons of options for DnD, but I would love to find some that would work well with Champions.

What is Champions Neo? Right now, it is a place holder name for original adventures which follow the Adventure Pack format, kinda. It has original villains and original stories leading to a goal and are designed hopefully for GMs just discovering the system and maybe coming from Champions Begins (but don't exactly have to...they don't need to use the Champions Begin heros obviously). Will I Be Writing It? Sorry, but I don't have assess to a computer to do this yet. I can suggest senerios for writers to flesh out and maybe a villain idea or two, but that will be it. What Are The Goals Of This Project? To provide m…

I'm introducing Firewing to my campaign world - up until about four years ago there were no supers or aliens on Earth, and there have now been supers (including the player characters) but no aliens. That's about to change. I decided that my campaign's Firewing will be broadcasting the battles he'll have on Earth back to his home planet of Malva with an AI-controlled anti-grav drone that follows him around. Kinda like Booster Gold's Skeets, without any attack ability or even skill assistance but making comments about the fight. I'm trying to think of the best way to do this (rules-wise). I know someone would say that the best way is to create the…

How would you build Yondu’s whistle-guided arrow from Guardians of the Galaxy? It seems like an AoE RKA of some kind, but I’m having trouble visualizing how to construct it.

Person has trouble controlling their powers, like turning it off. Activating a power is easy enough that's activation roll, but there are no rules for CONTROL. In context this is for a teen champions game.

This is a thread that is a bit of an inspiration to me. I'm looking for ideas for Japanese superheroes from outside of the common western believed stereotypes.. So leave your Samurai and Ninja at the door please. They are not what I am looking for. I'm looking for new ideas. Because the stereotypes are way overused.

From my own, there's what's known as Under City, a patchwork of abandoned subway stations and tunnels, old sewers and utility tunnels, and the long buried and largely forgotten sub basement floors from buildings that were demolished by The Big Shake Up (read: a massive earthquake) back in 1999. It's where quite a few villains and criminals hide, as most people (including the police) are hesitant to go down there.

What do we know about Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the Champions Universe? I seem to recall that it once had both a VIPER base and a superhero team, but that's all.

Here's the situation: One of my players has a fun idea for a character, but it involves genres I'm really not up on. Specifically, the character's backstory is that when she was a lonely 13-year-old, she imagined a fairly elaborate fantasy world in which she was Princess Moonray, heroine of the magical Moon Kingdom -- sort of an unholy mash-up of Masters of the Universe and Sailor Moon. When she was grown up, she somehow managed to help a supernatural creature that rewarded her by granting the deepest wish of her heart. Not what she wanted right now, but what she had wanted most strongly in all her life: to be Princess Moonray. And so that's her Hero ID. …

While I kinda know the answer, what does the various Champions Universe products says about my home town of Milwaukee Wisconsin, beyond being a 'vacation spot' for supervillains from Chicago?

In HeroDesigner what would be the best way to create an Invisibility to Detect Mutants? You can add a detect but you have to have it based on a full sense like sight, or sound or touch.

I'm thinking about running a Champions game in Los Angeles. I've checked the books, and it looks like the only mention is that the California Patrol is active in the area. Is there anything I missed in any of the other books?

Warning: This character write-up is complicated to the max. It took me a long time to convert it and add things to it to satisfy myself, and give her a 'Queen Berly/Queen Metalica" vive to her, and I still not exactly satisfied. She is meant to be over powerful, but still have enough weaknesses to her. Comments and opinions welcomed. As always, this is a work in progress. What would a tier list of the most powerful combatants in the sourcebooks look like? This is on the basis of power in direct battle, most personal resources included, unlike the Superhuman Survey which takes into account other factors like motivations and organizational coordination abilities (formulating and executing dastardly plots) for its threat level assessments. Allies and powerful henchmen are not taken into consideration, so the placements for characters with teams/organizations don't take into account their various compatriots. I want to focus on individuals so organizations like VIPER and teams like the Crowns of Krim are excluded, although individu…

So I was looking over the Champions Begins product and I noticed that the only HD files are the villains. Are there any files for the Hero in the Hero book part?

I recently became aware of the booklet that was distributed to backers of the Kickstarter campaign for The Book of the Empress. It looks like the booklet was never made available to non-backers through official channels like the HERO store, which means the 217 campaign backers (and whoever they shared it with) are the only people who have access to it. Even if it's a short supplement, it's a special entry in CU lore given its limited distribution and basis on fan-made characters. I find it very intriguing. It's been over a decade since BotE was released, so maybe now it's time to make the booklet available to the general public? For posterity's sake, at the ve…

Plans for aliens from another planet or dimension-- no problem Schemes for those magically inclined persons -- I can think of a few Scientific/ Tech based Masterminds, insert plans for world domination. But those villain teams based around science? On another thread an old villain called Beamline was mentioned, and his desire to have a world controlled by a scientific elite. Now I can see a villain organization built around this complete with a group of mercenary agents (armed with cutting edge weaponry) and a cadre of supers. BUT..... What do they do? What are some plans? An…

Hello all, I have a few questions regarding shapeshift. 1. If my character has the Cellular and Imitation adders to Shapeshift (Any form), would he need to buy the skills Disguise and Mimic to take on the likeness of another person? 2. If my character takes on the shape of a pencil or chair, would he still have a heartbeat, or register with senses like IR. In other words, would he still have "body heat"? Thank you!

Hello all, I'm wondering how powers such as Mental Illusions or Mind Control function in the Multipower framework? If a hero uses his Mind Control slot to control a villain to do a certain thing, could he continue to pay endurance and switch Multipower slots? Or once he switches to his Mental Illusions slot, the Mind Control "disconnects" and the villain isn't controlled anymore? I hope I'm making sense in my question. Thank you!
