What happened to The Fox, old Champions supervillain? I cannot find him in 6th edition. I need info on him for an adventure in Adventurer's Club 13. Probably some others too, which is why I left the question open ended. Did he get rebuilt in one of Greg Elkins' Forgotten Enemies books?

Determine some hero and villain that are required to team up for some reason. This could be a team/team cooperation, solo/solo, solo/team, or any other possible way. State the reason why and how they get together. Additional story appreciated, not required.

In a Champions superhero campaign, I was once surprised at the way Dodge and Dive for Cover were ruled by the Game Master. At the start of the fight, a bad guy threw a pellet at me. I aborted to a Dodge...whereupon it was revealed that the attack was a one-hex AoE. So I was automatically affected (once the villain hit their hex) AND, having aborted, lost my next phase. The GM said that the special effect of the attack was ambiguous, and, never having encountered it before, my character would not have known it was AoE. GM has final say, of course. And I like this GM, so I am not complaining, but seeking to understand. Bu…

WHERE'S MY SUPER SUIT??? Hey gang, I was just wondering how you all address the ideas of costuming for your superheroes. The comics have addressed this in several ways, from Unstable Molecules to the Comics Code Authority. Superman's suit was made from his Kryptonian blankets and swaddling by Martha, Spiderman wore an alien symbiote, Batman wears a high-tech Wayne Industry battle suit, Iron Man is, well, Iron Man... Star Labs and Shield often help to provide suits, Green Lantern's is a galactic police uniform created by super-science, Wonder Woman's is forged from Zues' Aegis and Dr. Manhattan is just plain naked! I love some of theses and hate others, but I'd lov…

Several of the 4e characters I created in Creatures of the Night: Horror Enemies were revised for later editions of Champions, ultimately making it to the Champions Villains trilogy. Most of them, however, did not. Tiger has expressed interest in updating selected characters for his Forgotten Enemies series (and used Lady Twilight with my blessing), but -- since I am still here -- I might like to do this myself. I've noodled around with Creatures of the Night Resurrected for the last several months, writing up 5e/CC versions of several characters. Before I go further, though, I have some important questions: Does anybody want this? Did you ever use them, back …

Ok folks. Which currently unpublished in the current 6ed Champions do you want in the flip book League of Enimies (put in the back of League of Champions book. See @tiger)? It is a given that the Flying Fox (HP's rename of Foxbat) will be in it. There will be no Ubermachine villains in it, cause they will be covered somewhere else. So... The Fat Man. The Huntsman's fat but fit nemesis. One could ask for Doctor Death (the renamed Doctor Destroyer from the Marksman Annual), but...why? Sonar and Radar. Red Raper. And of course Malace. Cause we do need one evil mystic and the Black Enchantress is kinda ou…

I like settings where there is a reason to give a character thematic powers. To a certain extent, I'm okay with Silver Age tropes like "cheetah serum" or something giving someone extraordinary speed and claws. But what if they have actual super-speed? Or maybe someone with fire powers and devil horns. My willingness to suspend disbelief only goes so far, and when you have multiple characters on one team that "just happen" to have cool thematics in powers, name, and appearance, rather than just a singular power, or disparate mutations, it starts to feel contrived. And that pulls me out of the fiction. Really thematic powers really only make sense if the powers somehow reac…

Converting old characters to 6th edition is always fun, but I ran into something I hadn't looked at for a long time: Life Support. Back through 3rd edition, Life Support was inclusive: you paid points to get more and more effect rather than selecting individual abilities. So far so good, but I remembered that. What I didn't remember was this level: Pretty cool. And also: missing from modern Life Support. Its sort of implied with the pressure immunities, but isn't actually a specific part of the power any more. I find that really curious, why was it dropped or did it just slip through the cracks? I am simulating it with immunity to low and hig…

A staple in most supers games (especially those with mutants) will be something that will allow another person to identify the mutant regardless of their disguise. They will always work perfectly, identify the mutant no matter what problems are presented, how many people around, disguise used, or other issues. Even more, when there are multiple mutants in the area, the detectors will be able to say the exact number and location of each. For some (eg Nightcrawler), they are obvious mutants, but most will look the same as mainstream human. How have you dealt with the issue of these detectors? What principle do they work from? How have the mutants attempted to counter them…

I think there's a fair amount of interest in seeing old, out-of-print Champions adventures being re-released in 6th edition with some new art, updating to modern day, etc. These are from adventures that I own, there are others which people might want to see rebooted. I don't want to redo To Serve and Protect personally, I think that should be done by Scott Heine.

So you have a PC who's dealing with supervillains -- and maybe superheroes -- all on their own. Assuming we don't power things down, would more starting points be warranted? And how much?

I saw in another thread that several people here still remember the Coriolis Effect scenario that was published by the original Hero Games about 20 years ago. Little frightening, isn't it? In case you didn't know, the adventures of Doctor Arcane, the Black Enchantress, and others are published by the CE author, Dennis Mallonee. You can find old Doctor Arcane stories on his website. Here's the urls directly from Dennis himself. The Tales of the Arcane website is at http://arcane.heroicpub.com. Donnah Hannah (Doctor Arcane's daughter) also makes regular guest appearances on the Flare website at http://flare.heroicpub.com. The first issues of the …

I think the Mystic Mansion from the 6E book The Ultimate Base, which was published in 2009, needs more rooms for staff and guests as well as gates, extra-dimensional rooms, and, maybe, some friendly ghosts. What do my fellow board members think?

The original topic about rebuilding the Guardians is now archived and cannot be commented on, but you can find it here. We went through and tried to rebuild a few of the characters from what we knew, and managed to get a few done. Because some of the original Champions players who created the Guardians are now playtesting a new Superhero game called Prowlers and Paragons, and they have printed versions of their first characters in that game set, I've gotten an insight into some of the missing ones. So far, only Dove, Marksman, and Goliath have been posted, but they were missing from our data to recreate them in the other thread. Here's what I came up with f…

Greetings everyone. I wanted to announce the official start of my work on Strike Force Organizations, a sequel to 2016's Aaron Allston’s Strike Force. The book will focus on three groups, the Blood, the Circle, and METE (all previous presented in Champions Organization products for early editions of Champions. My intent is to combine the content written for the PDFs with content Aaron wrote for his proposed (but never complete) Strike Force Universe series of books. I intend to update the content to HERO 6e, update the text to correct any errors and issues, and update any references …

Coastal City is in Washington County, Rhode Island with Coastal City Bay an offshoot of Narragansett Bay. The two main institutes of higher education are the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography (which also has courses in ship handling and marine law), and Coastal City University (a small university). There is also a branch of Washington County’s community college. Both Coastal City University and the community college branch are near the Coastal City Medical Center. The two largest houses of worship are Tree of Life Congregation (Conservative Judaism) and Saint Michael’s Church (Roman Catholic). On the synagogue’s gr…

Having a cape is a cool style, but it also offers a vulnerability to getting it grabbed. How might that work in combat? Perhaps long hair might also offer some kind of vulnerability like this?
