Hypothetical: NeoMephisto, a resident of another dimension that we shall hereafter refer to as "Inferno", enters into a written contract with a certain Enrico "Little Caesar" Banducci, citizen of Victory City, USA, wherein party A(NeoMephisto) provides certain goods and services to party B(Banducci) in exchange for 1)regular cash payments, 2) use of discreet "office facilities", and 3) occasional human services barter. In the event of the expiration of said contract term(after a period of 20 years or Party B's untimely demise) or a material breach, party B is required to pay, in consideration/damages, their "immortal soul". In the event of such a breach, what cour…

I'm curious if anyone has bought their hero Duplication. I've thought about creating a hero with the power but want to hear other's opinions first. I'd like to know how it played out because with Duplication, the GM potentially has to deal with 1 (or more) extra characters. As such, for myself at least as a GM, I'd have to think about that if one of the players bought it for their character. I know there are villains with the power and not interested in that aspect.

The purpose of this thread is to tie up links between the groups in the Create Hero and Villain Theme threads and discuss them. It will also state where names have come up in more than one post such as the Golden Guardian and Lamia. It will also contain a list of the Heroes and Villains in a quasi notepad form which will enable us to quickly reference the names and ideas on the site. (as opposed to Bolo's excellent PDFs. And provided I can keep it up to date). This post will also contain an index for the rest of the thread and mention which themes have been done or repeated. Post 2. Hero and Villain team themes and creators Post 3 Hero teams and members Post 4 Villa…

Last month I enjoyed the fall game convention (Nuke Con) and am slowing building up the desire to revitalize Champions and run it at the next major game event. The challenge remains, though, is to take something that's very rules heavy (Hero System) and make it easy enough for brand new players to pick up and be interested in like the rules light superhero game ICONS that I typically run, while still providing the details (e.g. "crunch") that existing Hero Systems players enjoy. I came up with what I call, "Simplified Sixth" where I combined powers, skills, talents, and perks under the generalized category of, "Skills & Attributes" (I got the idea from Sil…

I was playing around with a few ideas and was wondering how folks build a Power Armory akin to what Iron Man has. Would you use Multiform to represent the various armors?

Here's the situation: One of my players has a fun idea for a character, but it involves genres I'm really not up on. Specifically, the character's backstory is that when she was a lonely 13-year-old, she imagined a fairly elaborate fantasy world in which she was Princess Moonray, heroine of the magical Moon Kingdom -- sort of an unholy mash-up of Masters of the Universe and Sailor Moon. When she was grown up, she somehow managed to help a supernatural creature that rewarded her by granting the deepest wish of her heart. Not what she wanted right now, but what she had wanted most strongly in all her life: to be Princess Moonray. And so that's her Hero ID. …

When I first started making characters (by hand, this was even before Heromaker) I thought that you added up all the advantages on a power, then subtracted the limitations and the result was what applied. So if I had +2¾ and -1¼ of limitations, then the end result was a +1½ advantage. If it was +½ advantage and -1½ limitations, then it ended up a -1 limitation! I had a weird understanding of Multipower too, but I cannot remember how I did the math on that one. Anyone else have any stories of misunderstandings or confusion from their early days?

Has anyone done writeups for modern pharmaceuticals, like aspirin and similar? Like, I could see "energy shot drink" be a 1d6 Aid END, Drain (5 points/6 Hours). I wonder what clever ideas people might have for others.

Has this happened to you as a player-hero? Could your character punch over a hundred people in the mouth? Or could you find a better way to handle the matter?

The Champions are based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their headquarters is ob a former brownfield site off Second Avenue in the Hazelwood neighborhood that's close to two UPMC parking lots. Their aircraft take off and land close to the Monongahela River and can be seen taking off and landing from the Hot Metal Bridge.

Can anyone think of a way to create Regeneration in 6th Edition that regenerates characteristics other than BODY. There is no option to upgrade Regeneration to allow this, it will do BODY only. I had thought of using Healing, but you cannot make healing continuous as it states that you must use Regeneration for that. I am creating a character whose power will even regenerate damage done by some drains, such as poisons, or some types of cellular decay, or other things like this. I don't want to use Power Defense as that will just make her immune to it, and she is not. She still takes the drain fully, but can get it back faster than a normal person.

Like the Marvel and DC universes, the Champions Universe is a pretty busy place. I’ve been doing some thinking, wondering how far to strip it down for a future campaign, to get down to the core elements. For example, instead of thousands of superhumans across the globe with a multitude of origins, the pool shrinks to a few hundred or maybe less. Instead of a multitude of superteams, there are very few. Instead of a multitude of alien races and invasion armadas every few years, there are only a handful of races and no mass invasions. The same thing for mystic stuff. The occasional demon shows up, but not the legions of hell. …

X-men characters 1 2 3

A little while back I started making HERO versions of the x-men as a mental exercise. This grew into doing a few solo-rpg sessions and running a few full scale combats. I've had so much fun I thought I'd share my write-ups with you guys and maybe give a little of my inspiration energy to my fellow heroes and heroines on the messageboard. (Originally I intended these writups for new players who want to play a character "like" wolverine or cyclops. Think of these as quick-start templates) A few things to take note of, these X-men have no connection to any established continuity save one of my own making. I've included the disadvantages I used for each, but they are by …

The heroes are teen vigilante heroes in Pittsburgh, either in the 11th or 12th grade in Taylor Allderdice High School or undergrads at the University of Pittsburgh.

https://www.npr.org/2023/09/22/1200803124/nasa-osiris-rex-mission-bring-home-asteroid-rocks-returns-utah The RL news story: On Sunday, the OSIRIS-REx space probe swings past Earth to drop off a capsure holding material collected from the asteroid Bennu. Pretty good origin material right there, but one of the scientists mentions a few odd dreams about the mission. One sounds straight out of a comic book, lacking only the super-powers one would inevitably gain as a result of the described object and action. (The text of the linked story gives more information, but the "listen" draws more attention to the dream.) Enjoy. And if you end up c…

Just wanted to see what peoples' thoughts on this are: If someone (or something) has desolification with the limitation that it does not protect against any attack, does that character have to purchase affects solid to be able to utilize any of their own attacks while desolid?

The Light-Fingered Lady is a place in my upcoming campaign. It's a bar that's a neutral ground for burglars and people who like to dress like them. The staff members, who have their own entrance, dress in black jeans, high-collar turtleneck sweaters (ribbed or smooth), boots that let them walk quietly, leather gloves that are long enough to keep the skin of their hands from being seen, and stocking masks under their ski masks. One staffer is always in the entrance area, checking IDs. If someone's under 21, they get a bracelet that says so. If someone shows a false ID, the ID is confiscated and turned over to the police.

Howdy Herodom! I was looking at making some of the Overwatch characters for Champions, and had a bit of a hang up on their "Power Bar" powers. For those that don't play, these are powers that take time to charge based on your attacks and survival. How would someone build this? Would it be a Trigger? Or is there something else that represents this better?

I've been working on building a few organizations that use minions and was wondering what other GMs consider maximum points for baseline minions. I'm thinking of Hydra/Cobra/Intergang kind of troops before they get any fancy gear or vehicles.

Thought it might be an interesting discussion about Champions Characters verse Fantasy Hero Characters. This of course assumes that they are at a similar point level. So would normally be a new Champions Character verse an experienced Fantasy Hero Character. And Hero Games version doesn't really matter.

I wonder how you would make a character who has the ability to fluently speak every language. Universal Translator wouldn't work as it only has you speak the language rather basically, always showing that you do not truly know the language. You could try and purchase every language but in that case your character would absolutely have no powers and be unable to do anything other than speak languages. Would there be any other options?

Coastal City, from the 3E module Atlas Unleashed, is a generic coastal city with a bay, a hospital (possibly more than one), a swank hotel, a fine art museum, a power company, an over-crowded freeway system, and a factory-lined channel (which may be a river). An air force base and NASA telemetry station are nearby. We can postulate that it is a major city with a university, a school system, shopping and residential districts, parks, a zoo, and government buildings. A lighthouse may be on an island in the bay and a general aviation airport is possible.

Anyone know of a substitute for Mako Island from H2O: Just Add Water and Mako Mermaids? I might stick it an an extra-dimensional area.

The Freakish Four: This foursome of strange-looking heroes were blessed and cursed with power thanks to a mysterious anomaly in space. They consist of: Jackie Frost: A beautiful animate ice statue of a woman, Jackie Frost has powers over cold and frozen water. Despite her powers she’s a fun-loving thrill seeker who wants her sister to “lighten up”. She’s always up for a snowball fight but she’s also a brilliant physicist. Shadow Woman: Jackie Frost’s sister, Susan is the mistress of stealth, able to become a two-dimensional living shadow, take shortcuts through the Darkness Dimension, create animate entities of “solid darkness” and boost her streng…
