X-men characters 1 2 3

A little while back I started making HERO versions of the x-men as a mental exercise. This grew into doing a few solo-rpg sessions and running a few full scale combats. I've had so much fun I thought I'd share my write-ups with you guys and maybe give a little of my inspiration energy to my fellow heroes and heroines on the messageboard. (Originally I intended these writups for new players who want to play a character "like" wolverine or cyclops. Think of these as quick-start templates) A few things to take note of, these X-men have no connection to any established continuity save one of my own making. I've included the disadvantages I used for each, but they are by …

The heroes are teen vigilante heroes in Pittsburgh, either in the 11th or 12th grade in Taylor Allderdice High School or undergrads at the University of Pittsburgh.

https://www.npr.org/2023/09/22/1200803124/nasa-osiris-rex-mission-bring-home-asteroid-rocks-returns-utah The RL news story: On Sunday, the OSIRIS-REx space probe swings past Earth to drop off a capsure holding material collected from the asteroid Bennu. Pretty good origin material right there, but one of the scientists mentions a few odd dreams about the mission. One sounds straight out of a comic book, lacking only the super-powers one would inevitably gain as a result of the described object and action. (The text of the linked story gives more information, but the "listen" draws more attention to the dream.) Enjoy. And if you end up c…

Just wanted to see what peoples' thoughts on this are: If someone (or something) has desolification with the limitation that it does not protect against any attack, does that character have to purchase affects solid to be able to utilize any of their own attacks while desolid?

The Light-Fingered Lady is a place in my upcoming campaign. It's a bar that's a neutral ground for burglars and people who like to dress like them. The staff members, who have their own entrance, dress in black jeans, high-collar turtleneck sweaters (ribbed or smooth), boots that let them walk quietly, leather gloves that are long enough to keep the skin of their hands from being seen, and stocking masks under their ski masks. One staffer is always in the entrance area, checking IDs. If someone's under 21, they get a bracelet that says so. If someone shows a false ID, the ID is confiscated and turned over to the police.

Howdy Herodom! I was looking at making some of the Overwatch characters for Champions, and had a bit of a hang up on their "Power Bar" powers. For those that don't play, these are powers that take time to charge based on your attacks and survival. How would someone build this? Would it be a Trigger? Or is there something else that represents this better?

I've been working on building a few organizations that use minions and was wondering what other GMs consider maximum points for baseline minions. I'm thinking of Hydra/Cobra/Intergang kind of troops before they get any fancy gear or vehicles.

Thought it might be an interesting discussion about Champions Characters verse Fantasy Hero Characters. This of course assumes that they are at a similar point level. So would normally be a new Champions Character verse an experienced Fantasy Hero Character. And Hero Games version doesn't really matter.

I wonder how you would make a character who has the ability to fluently speak every language. Universal Translator wouldn't work as it only has you speak the language rather basically, always showing that you do not truly know the language. You could try and purchase every language but in that case your character would absolutely have no powers and be unable to do anything other than speak languages. Would there be any other options?

Coastal City, from the 3E module Atlas Unleashed, is a generic coastal city with a bay, a hospital (possibly more than one), a swank hotel, a fine art museum, a power company, an over-crowded freeway system, and a factory-lined channel (which may be a river). An air force base and NASA telemetry station are nearby. We can postulate that it is a major city with a university, a school system, shopping and residential districts, parks, a zoo, and government buildings. A lighthouse may be on an island in the bay and a general aviation airport is possible.

Anyone know of a substitute for Mako Island from H2O: Just Add Water and Mako Mermaids? I might stick it an an extra-dimensional area.

The Freakish Four: This foursome of strange-looking heroes were blessed and cursed with power thanks to a mysterious anomaly in space. They consist of: Jackie Frost: A beautiful animate ice statue of a woman, Jackie Frost has powers over cold and frozen water. Despite her powers she’s a fun-loving thrill seeker who wants her sister to “lighten up”. She’s always up for a snowball fight but she’s also a brilliant physicist. Shadow Woman: Jackie Frost’s sister, Susan is the mistress of stealth, able to become a two-dimensional living shadow, take shortcuts through the Darkness Dimension, create animate entities of “solid darkness” and boost her streng…

Short version: Friend of an acquaintance picked up 5e in a used book store in the 'Boro earlier this year. For about 4 months or so, he has been running a Champions game. So this: Newish GM (has been running some Fate thing for about a year prior to this) and newish players (one from the Fate group, three others new for this game). I have been invited to try playing with them. Given the experience differences, I am very concerned about overwhelming the game or accidentally being "that guy". To avoid that, I hava come up with a xoncept- powers and personality- that suits itself more to a support role than to a take-charge type or a q…

Crisis Patrol (my player's super team) has been defeated and is currently occupying some hand-wavey Dream Chamber that are pumping stimuli into them, making them think they are out in the world doing good as usual. I have a back-up team (the Impossible Squad) who will be raiding the World Crime League hideout in our campaign city of Retropolis. The PCs will be playing the Impossible Squad for an issue or two. Experience Points for those two issues go to the Crisis Patrol Characters if they wish. This week, we're still in the Dream Chamber pretending as if everything is hunky-dorey. Recall that the PCs have no idea what's really happening. Which i…

Grace is a PRIMUS Intelligence agent who is the local team’s liaison. She is very skilled at working undercover as a cat burglar and is willing to act as her team’s driver, lookout, and backup. She calls out, “Blue dots,” if she’s going to use a flash bomb and is armed with, among other things, a suppressed nine-millimeter pistol loaded with knockout darts. She dubbed her PRIMUS spider “Charlotte”.

IHA Book Review 1 2 3

I just got the book and skimmed through it. Nice work. I love that Genocide existed, as did IMAGE. The history section tells the fall of both organizations (with Genocide mostly killed by it's own hand by revealing themselves too soon, and a very well played plot by the IHA to assassinate Murdock, the leader of IMAGE). They took advantage of The Battle of Detroit to assassinate Apostle, Flamboyant, and Mustang. And of course, tons more history. We got bases, tons of leaders (many of them normal, but Archer Samuels is a cyborg), agents (all named via military lnes, as opposed to Genocide's chest mosfet), Minuteman MARK 7 and Minuteman Tracker MARK 3 robots, and there…

I'm working on a version of Coastal City, which originally appeared in the 3E book Atlas Unleashed. It will be in Ventura County, straddling the Santa Clara River and be based on DC's Coast City. Wayne Air Force Base is replace by Edwards Air Force Base. The Coastal Metro Power Company is replaced by Pacific Gas and Electric.

Just to make sure I'm understanding the rules correctly, I see that Ironclad (from the Champions RPG book) is listed as having an HKA that does 2d6 with the Limitation OAF. This makes sense. However, the part that I don't understand is that it is listed as dealing 4d6 Damage when his STR is added to it. His STR is listed at 70, and according to the rules HKAs deal and extra 1d6 Damage per 15 STR. This should put the total HKA Damage at 6d6, if I'm not mistaken?

Hello All, The title doesn’t quite capture the question. As many of you know some of the characters have been around for many editions if not all. However what some may not realize is that a character say Cheshire Cat is not identical (even allowing for edition change) in all editions. So have any of you ran (or running) x edition but use y version of the character? (Naturally this version is conformed to the edition you are running). I did just exactly that. I had available to me 1st ed Brick which I updated to 4th ed to run a scenario of Vipers Nest. During the game (I also used Cheshire cat) though my buddy is made a comment that Cheshire Cat is going to …
