II am playing in a new champions campaign starting this weekend and was wondering where the proper forum is to post a character to get feedback from other players on how to make it better, more interesting, or problems I might face. Thank you for putting up with my incompotence, Narthon

A mage character wants to have unlimited clips for there gun, how do you do this? In essense once every 12 shots he wants to have to reload a clip, but never run out of them... My personal method right now is to tell him to buy clips to the limit and fake it from there (House rule says charges can never cost more that if the power was built using 0 end and uncontrolable)

I'm GMing a Supers campaign for a bunch of ex AD&Ders and this is thier first time playing a "Cape". My problem is enforcing the genre. My players are too quick to initiate combat with a love of attacking from surprise and not indulging in the very "in-genre" soliliquays and banter that normally proceeds violence. In so many comics and films do the bad guys explain some very complex plots to the PCs before trying to "off" them. Or how often to small pieces of information, which would shed light on what is going on, fall into the investigators hands during chance encounters or glib remarks? My players are snuffing these roleplaying oportunities out, here is…

Haven't played Champions in ages but I picked up Star Hero to use as reference material for another sci-fi game and I was so impressed with the new material that I was hooked once again. Nostalgia kicked in and I've set out to re-imagine some my old characters. One of my first way back in '89 was Tsunami, a paper-mache brick/energy projector. I wanted her to have a base set of characteristics/powers but to get stronger values when in water. For simplicity's sake, I just bought some additional stats and increases to her defenses/attacks with the limitation Only in Water (-1/4) but that wasn't quite right. I want this character to become more powerful based o…

I was thinking the other day, whats with the leaping? since characters can jump 1" for every 5 STR. This means that any common man reasonably fit with strength 10 or so can jump 8 meters vertically! (world record is 8.90 AFAIR?). And my high elf swordmaster with strength 18 can jump 16 meters!! How reasonable is this?

For people comenting on the HERO throwing rules (The worst thing about the system) what other options have you come up with? I will start. 1: A chracter may throw an object weighing up to his max lift 1 hex. For every five points over the requiredstrength to lift the object the throwing distance doubles. (Simple but does not include limits like rea life.) 2: a Character may throw an obect a distance equal to remaining Strength/5 Squared. (Again simple but does not include limits like rea life.) 3: Include realistic limitations if you want by saying no throwing range may exceed Base STR/2 Squared =10 STR - 25 hexes, 30 STR - 225 hexes. Then all…

Faster than a speeding bullet . . . More powerful than a locomotive . . . Smarter than the average bear? Look, I know the big dumb brick has been done to death, but my idea is a guy who succeeds because he is stupid. A character who makes the biggest blunders and wins because of them, a la Shaggy and Scooby, Hong Kong Fuey, etc , , , Any ideas of what sort of powers this guy should have (not necessarily cartoony but powers that simulate him being successful because he follows his stupdest ideas to their conclusion)?

Here is a good concept that I have been wondering how to pull it off. The concept is that the hero has several powers that he can use only he has no control over what power will go off whenever he uses the power. There is nothing that connects the powers. The person is a chaos mathmatician that had an accident and the rest of the usual comic story. However the control mechinism went haywire. What I am wondering about is how to determine what power is activited when he uses the powers and any ideas for the stated powers. Any ideas and suggestions would be highly welcome. Thanks in advance for all the great ideas and suggestions that everyone will come up wit…

Okay round SIX, and same as before: Do to an interdimensional crisis heroes from four worlds must battle, in four way battles to determine who are the greatest Champions of all times, LET THE BATTLE BEGIN, The battle of the oddballs has begun. As usual all should be assumed to be at 350 point characters, in the case of Multiforms assume that the maximum points for either form is 350 Icestar & Iccicle of the Guardians: Able to project ice, these two heroes have learned to use there powers to many effects, such as create Ice sleds and fire blasts of cold. Jaguar of the OCU: A were Jaguar suffering from a mystic curse Fistfire: Able to summon flames a…

i have just started reading the x men stuff again and i think that Husk's power is pretty cool. Basically, she can "shed" one form and transform into another. It's not multiform though, because she can adapt herself to what ever situation she is in at the time. Would this be more of a VPP?

I've just received my copies of the Champions Universe and CKC books, and I was perusing the timeline. I'm currently cobbling together my own version of the timeline that incorporates Marvel & DC stuff, but with most of the 'major heroes' retiring by the late 1990s. I was checking out DC's 12-year timeline (supposedly 10-year, but that's a discussion for another time) and realized that the Earth is invaded a LOT! Man, there were the Appelaxians, the Hyperclan (White Martians), the first Invasion Alliance, the second Invasion Alliance... How often do Aliens invade in your timeline, and what are the consequences? One of the things I liked about DC's …

If anyone is willing to pick up the limited edition Crimson Skies Clix planes that will be there for Origins (I understand there will be two) I will gladly pay for 'em, shipping, throw in a little something for your time and maybe even do some barter like drar a picture for ya. Some of my stuff is floating around here, if you're curious to see. I'm no pro, but I'm not too shabby, either.

I was wondering what other ideas people have had, mine is not that original, but does draw on enough different sources to make it seem that way Star Knights The star Knights are a law enforcement agency for what is known as the Milkey Way Galaxy. The knights are answerable to the Council (a group of knights), each knight is given broad authority similar to what was common in the old west. Essentialy a Knight will be given an area to patrol sent out to it, will be allowed to recruit others in the location to deputise (AKA Squires), etc... To become a knight the individual is injected with Noanites that increase there physical prowels, grants them the…

Just a quick note to let y'all know that I've added another 10 powers to the Online USPD. We now have more than 60, putting us about one-third of the way toward the minimum we'd need to publish a small "2004 Supplement" for the book (if we decided to do that -- we haven't, really; that's just how I measure progress:)). Enjoy!

A Skinner for the Irrational Games Freedom Force has done some of the Champions from 4th edition skins. They are all pretty nicely done and include Obsidian, Seeker, Quantum, Solitaire and Defender. I'm not sure if they violate any copyright or intellectual property that either Steve L. or the previous Hero crew may have on said characters but if they pass his approval and anyone is interested in either seeing a screen shot of them or the skins themselves I'll put them somewhere.

I'm doing the history for my new campaign which includes lots of analogs of stuff like Superman, SHIELD, etc and I was wondering if it's a good idea to include the GLC. They are a great concept and I also really like Qward, the evil version of Oa, but the problem it seems to me is that space, normally the source of lots of 'good' bad guys like Galactus and evil alien empires will be cleaned up if the GLC are around. The Skrulls will be kept within their borders, Galactus will probably be imprisoned, cured or dead. Damn those blue midgets! One thing I thought I might try is have the GLC destroyed (apart from the one remaining GL) a few years back in some sort of Crisi…

This is a followup to my email regarding tactical advice for the Ultimates. The fight ended up being the Ultimates(Binder, Blackstar,Cyclone, Slick, Thunderbolt...along with Anklosaur and ESPer) vs. The Crusaders: Bedlam: Team leader....Brick Quick Step: Speedster Frostbite: Cold energy projector Brimstone: Fire energy projector Spiritwalker: Teleporting, spell using shaman Hound: Shapeshifting martial artist Dark Sun: The "jedi" Slick opened the attack with his area entangle, which hosed most of the team. Spiritwalker was able to get away...as was Quick Step. Binder then glued up the speedster as well...leaving only Spiritwalker free. Anklos…

On more than one thread, a dislike for the CKC character Nebula has been mentioned. I loosely recall others at different times indicating a dislike for this hero or that villain in 5th Edition as well. While I don't like to dwell on the negative, in this case I'll make an exception. After all, we might be able to collectively improve on some character concepts or at least let the PTB know what's hot, and what's not. So, which 5th Edition characters out so far just don't do it for you? Which ones do you dislike, or down right loathe? Please give reasons if possible.

Okay. On another thread many expressed their love of Chicago as a setting. The City of Big Shoulders, it would seem, has quite a following. Others have already done work on their own Chicago campaigns (Hey Nato ) , and I hope they and those who know more about the real city chime in on this thread. As a kind of group project, I want us to build Chicago for 5th Edition in a completley unauthorized with faux official status. I'd like to take what the Champion's Universe has given us and run from there. That way, anyone who comes on this site and wants a setting to run from based on a real city can just look up this old thread, and it will help them out. Thus spreadin…

I currently have 19 XP saved up for my Champions character. I want to spend it on something, but I don't know what. I was thinking I could easily get some suggestions here I could improve his skills or existing powers, buy off some disadvantages, or I could get a new power altogether. His deal is that he's a genetically engineered being with biological weapons. He's designed to be "re-fitted" with abilities by tweaking his "genetic code," but no one on Earth currently understands how it works. He's working on that He's currently filling the "speedster/martial artist/bug-man" category, if that helps. Now hit me with your ideas! BlueBuddha Here he is: …

Just trying out Hero Designer and converting a 4th ed character to 5th Edition.
