I am looking for "good" mythical monsters Thus far I have: Unicorn Pegasus Dragon Sphinx Phoenix I'd like something considered quite magical, inclinations to help man, and a sea creature or land based creature would be nice. They should also have a name that wouldn't be giggled at by other superheroes... any ideas?

Is there a 5th edition version in Mechanon in any of the current books? I can't find em.

I thought I'd like to start a discussion thread on the sixth edition Champions Universe, to match the "what do we want" thread for the Sixth Edition HERO thread. What we'd like to see in the next edition. My main thought is to avoid having all of the HERO products shoved into a single timeline. It's a cute idea on some levels, but it doesn't make any sense on so many other levels. I don't think there's going to many GMs who will stop all superhero origins in time for Cyber HERO. It's much better to have multiple timelines where you have a much more smoother and logical progression for the universes. My main concept is that the CU needs to be split into two timel…

Hey, folks...I'm looking to create a large number of NPC's (specifically, I'm trying to make all the students in my world's version of the Ravenswood Institute). What I would like is a chart that details a random race/ethnicity for a student. Does anyone know of such a chart online for NPC generation?

Fast Draw says you have to buy the skill for each weapon you want to be able to use the skill with. What if you have a multipower (in this case a utility belt) or such with multiple weapons in it? Anyone come up with a point saving way to add the skill to a power framework, maybe an advantage applied to the skill?

Recent Patriot threads have inspired me to make a Golden Age martial artist (boxer) in a flagsuit. My current name for his is "Sergeant Victory." But the name is sounding a little... schmah. Any other suggestions? I've thought of "Captain Victory" but that's too similar to "Captain America" to me. Keep in mind this is for a GA game. So nothing with an "X" in it. Nothing menacing like "Amerikiller". Don't be a fraid to be cheesy.

So being unemployed and bored, I decided to mess around with the random power generator from the Champions sourcebook and the random origin generator from the now defunct ezhero. Rather than just do totally random characters, I decided to work up a team of characters representing each of the published archetypes combined with the Patriot subcategory. I decided that these guys would be the DOSPA field team: Superhuman/Paranormal Investigative, Rescue and Interdiction Team... or SPIRIT. Here's what I've got so far: Flagstone (Patriot Brick): Thing-like Brick, 'natch. Lady Eagle (Patriot EB): Eagle hybrid beastwoman rescued from Dr. Moreau with sonic scream.…

I am preparing to run my first campaign that uses Hero 5 and am requesting a few pointers. The game is going to be superheroes, set in the civil war. The heroes will have to figure out what side they fight for, try to fight prejudice against them (it's sort of X-Menish) and deal with other issues from that era. My question is this: I don't want the heroes to be so powerful that the weaponry of that age (muskets and sabers, primarily) doesn't threaten them. I was thinking of a 100/100 point game...do you suppose that's enough to make a low-powered superhero who is functionable yet not invincible? Any other guidelines I should use (max stats, etc.) to aid i…

I'm creating an NPC, a bodyguard/enforcer/assassin that my PCs will eventually encounter. One of his tricks is that he's got some cybernetics and bionics implanted in him; one of the most telling is that his right arm had been replaced by a very durable, strong arm, but the the forearm itself is bio-cybernetic muscle layed over a sniper rifle barrel. One of the things I'd like to do with him (but I'm having trouble with) is constructing for him some sharpshooter eyes. N-Ray vision, and Telescopic vision. But I'm having trouble deciding what substance to have him Not see through. I imagine this could come from the explination of how the eyes work, but I havn't.…

Howdy out there, Well, I'm proud to say that I might have a Legion of Superheros type game starting up soon. Besides the classic Flight ring (With Mindlink comm unit.) what other little details do you think I could add from time to time to take players back to that classic comic? I have a few myself, but I'm looking for extra ideas you would think about.

Character idea: He gained his powers by a mystic spell, while the spell cannot easily be dispelled it can easily be moved, any wizard worth there salt will be able to detect it and be able to remove the spell (The spell must be given to someone however, so either a henchman or the wizard themselves will have to take the spell on) While the character himself is not a spell caster he will still be able to detect the spell, and be able to "take it back" I personaly am tempted to just call it an IIF, unbreakable...

I'm trying to create a Brick that has attacks other than just strength, but, keeping it into that his strength is what causes these attacks, like slapping both hands together to cause an area affect sonic attack. What I'm trying to figure out now is how would I create an attack that would cause the ground to shack and cause people to fall down, kinda like a mini localized earthquake? Thanks. Rhyus

One of my players posed this question: Is there a way to construct a power that you'd bounce off of a wall you were knocked back into? (He's looking for a way to eliminate/reduce damage from knockback. The character already has Breakfall.) Thoughts? Take care, Harry

Okay, after asking Steve some questions I feel a need to write this up, it is actualy for a character that is different from the one I am naming the effect after (Jerico of the Titans) As seen right now Mind Control, Transdimensional, Telepathic, can not be used to command the use of non physical powers (based on F/X), this lim represents the fact that if he posseses a mystic he will not be able to cast the spells (such as flight) the character has learned, but could fly is he possesed a Cap Marvel type clone, this is a -1/4 Clarsentience (Radio, Sight, Touch, Taste, hearing, smell), only through the sense of another, transdimensional, this again will have …

I'm thinking of a power with has a radius or either 1 or 2 miles. However, for various reasons, I also want to know how many acres are in a 1 and/or 2 mile radius power. Can any of you math wizards give me the answers?

COOL. I am impresseed with this book It has so many useful abilities and a bit in the back with examples of adapting towards other (a mix and match and gadget) kind of like the chinese gods in CKC. I was also over all impressed with the art a great deal. Nato, Eric Lofgren, Storn Cook, Chris Stevens, Bryce Nakawaga, and Greg Smith have really nice pieces in there. I particularly liked Nato's rendition of the Eurostar vs Gravitar tussle. Eric's Lofgren's depiction of Summer Cloud (apparently a member of China's Tiger Squad) was mmmmmgoood. I also like the artist who did the Morph vs Ironclad illo on page 175. I just don't know which of the listed authors he is. His wo…

I've got a character I'm making for a Golden Age game. The hero name is "Sergeant Victory" (tentative if you want to suggest alternatives). SV is a boxer of legend-worthy ability who retired early and funnelled his prize-money into a very successful engineering firm. The firm does a lot of defense contracting and worked up a "bullet-resistant" material which was abandoned because it wasn't cost effective. SV took the remaining experimental material and fashioned a star-spangled costume (attached) and now gives the Axis a one-two for America! What I need help with is his secret ID name -- and nickname. See, he's an ex-prize fighter. So I'm looking to make a name/nic…

I mentioned in another thread that it was a rare team that had one of each of the 11 'official' archetypes. That got me thinking. Let's see, Defender- Powered Armor Ironclad- Brick Nighthawk- Mmm, I've heard folks declare him more Martial Artist than Gadgeteer, and vice versa. You decide which (or both) he is for yourself. Sapphire- Energy Projector Witchcraft- Mystic And our Auxilary member(if you want to call him that), Kinetik is, of course, a speedster That leaves an empty niche to fill in the Mentalist, Metamorph, Patriot, and Weapon Master slots; With an option for either Gadgeteer or Martial Artist (whatever is opposite of what you think Night…
