Now I know that I need the main Champions book but what I would like to know is which others would be the "Must Have" books/supplements to really get things rolling?

I have returned from the alternate reality of "Overworked with Little Pay" to once again venture forth onto the ongoing project of The Only Random Character Generator You Will Ever Need!!!! Greetings all. Long time no write (but I've been lurking about)... Stats are great. February 2003 I had over 1000 requests for generator (no details on if it was one person 1000 times or 1000 people one time or somewhere in between). For those who don't know what I'm talking about here's the link: http://www.trimira.com/hero_stuff/hero_stuff.html Now, having this many hits in one month for a "throw together" project is great and at the same time unnerving. …

Just for fun, I thought I'd calculate what STR Hercules would have to be. The one time that I know of in which Hercules' strength was pushed to its limits was when he took over holding up the Earth from Atlas. It wasn't easy for him, but he was able to support the weight of the Earth long enough for Atlas to walk around, talk to a few people and come back. So, the Earth weighs about 6 x 10^18 kilotons. To be able to hold that up would require a 390 STR. This would make your base PD 78. Your minimum base REC is 80 (assuming a CON of at least 10) which I believe translates to 8 Body recovered a day which is one Body every three hours. Your leap would also be 78".…

We've had some interesting debates on who could beat who in comic book dom. Which is kind of fun Anyone thought of total mismatches? Those cross over battles that you're pretty sure would last, two or three panels tops, maybe a page if folks were feeling chatty? One I'd like to see.... Superman VS Speedball The only way Speedball could probably win is if Superman got dizzy watching speedy bounce around. Lobo VS the Fabulous Frogman Poor Eugene's legs would be served on a side platter Wolverine VS one of the Robins (Sure I'll get someone protesting this one) The kid would probably feel as if he'd fallen into a terminator movie... ("He's still c…

When building a power armor character do you also get the Only in Hero ID deduction as well as the OAF? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Hello there I've checked a few out of print websites and ebay but I haven't come across this one. Anyone know of a place (in the U.S.) where I might be able to buy a copy of this module? Thanks. Cheers.

I'm trying to build some zombie soldiers, and I'm stuck on something. How do I build them so the're very resistent to PRE attacks, but don't have more than 20PRE themselves? Would Mental Defense work for this? Mightybec

Odd question, since I've been working on the details of my own campaign's version of the American Superhuman and Paranormal Registration Act (ASPRA) -- my own version is called the NRA (Nova Registration Act), so if I slip and use that term instead I apologize. I looked for but failed to find information in CU5 about who has access to how much of the information compiled by/for ASPRA, especially as it related to the public at large. In particular, do employers in the official CU have the right to ask prospective employees if they are registered, and/or have the right to contact Primus (which according to CU5 is responsible for the ASPRA) to see if prospective em…

I'm starting up a new campaign and I have already run into two road blocks for getting it started. The campaign is a world where genetic mutations have been happening for some time (the first was a Japanese fisherman in 1952) until at about today's date, an estimated 1 in 1 every million people is a mutant of some kind. In truth, the number is closer to 1:50,000 but the catalyst event has not happened yet. The game starts out in a generic city where the city board with cooperation of the state government and a couple of high power corporations is starting an experimental law enforcement body with mutants. The theory is that a group of mutants can enforce laws …

Okay, I am creating a mutant based on the concept of Superhuman Agility. In her current form, she looks like this: Player: Val Char Cost 15 STR 5 33 DEX 69 18 CON 16 10 BODY 0 15 INT 5 11 EGO 2 15 PRE 5 20 COM 5 12 PD 3 12 ED 2 7 SPD 27 7 REC 0 36 END 0 30 STUN 3 11" RUN05" SWIM015" LEAP0Characteristics Cost: 142 Cost Power END 12 Accute Senses: Enhanced Perception (+4 to PER Rolls for All Sense Groups) 10 Hard to hit: +2 with DCV 10 Just lucky I guess: Luck 2d6 17 Natrual Fighting Ability: Hand-To-Hand Attack +5d6 (25 Active Points); Hand-To-Hand Attack (-1/2) 2 7 Skilled Climber: Cl…

I'm working on a wizard-type charactacter for Champions. He has a suit of magical clothes that's alive - actually it's his familiar (some kind of interdimensional being). The suit protects him (Armor) and can change to look like any other type of clothing (Transform), but and here's the stickler, I'd like for it to have another form that can interact with the other characters, etc. My initial thoughts was for the mage to buy the familiar as a follower. This follower has a mulitform One when its the "clothes" and the other when it is an independant being. When it its "clothes" form its powers are Desolid (Always on, cannot pass throgh solids) and then…

I'm creating a group of three super-assasions based loosly on the children's ryme "Rub-a-dub-dub". The Living Weapion: The "Butcher" of the three. A man with incredable martail arts abilities. Firearm: The "Baker" of the three. A man who can shoot flames out of his right stump (he acadently burnted off his right hand). Waxman: The "Candlestick Maker" of the three. A man made of living wax. The question: What do I call this group? There not a real team (thay take turns trying to kill the target, and compeats with each other, but are friends), but are hiered together all the time for jobs. Thank you.

When we were kids there was that wonderful fight, which many of us still go through who would win between Thor and Superman; The Avengers and the JLA; the Teen Titans and the X-Men (X-Men hands down). Before the board crashed I was trying to see how people though this could be modeled in the Champions System, fair fights between super teams. Here is my suggestion. Take 10,000 points and each character can get credit for up too 150 points in Disads. There is no max or min number of characters you can have, spend as many points per person as you want! I just think this is a fun exercise. Here are my teams, what would you do? JLA Superman: 1,…

I imagine this has to do w/ company info, and who owns rights to characters, but why has the Champions roster changed? Defender is the only original Champion left. 1) Seeker - was a dork, who ended up looking cool during the Millenium period, though I hated those rules. In fact, all the Millenium art seems superior-- get those artist back!!! 2) What was her name? Quantim? She's gone. She also had a nice image change during the "Hero's Lite" Fuzion period. I see she's been replaced by an equally PC hispanic girl 3) Jaguar, thank god, has left; but now there's no multi-form hero on the roster. 4) Obsidian was much cooler than this dork that is now…

The launch of the Philippine superheroine DARNA's latest comic book took place last weekend. Here's a picture of the model in full costume. You can find more pics of the event at http://sagingkomiks.bravepages.com/darna/launch.htm Brief Background: Very similar to the Billy Batson / Captain Marvel origin. A young girl (about 6) named Narda makes a living singing songs with her younger brother Ding, while their guardian / grandmother mends clothes. One night, a comet falls to Earth... Narda finds a small stone with the word "Darna" written on it. Curious and intrigued, she takes it home. Along the way, she spies some boys who regularly tease her. Sca…

I am curently stuck on names of two supervillian teams I have created. Team One: A group of five mutants (so far) operating out of the Ortaga Insitute For Higher Learning. Curently going by the name "Ortaga Insuitute" in my notes. The members: 1) Headmaster: Headmaster of the school, and a mutant mentlist of moderat power. Dosen't acualy go on missions, but uses his mental powers to check up on his students. 2) Forcer: The team leader of the group. Able to fire beams of force, and also able to create a force construct (Summin). 3) Hexen: Proability manipulator who thinks she knows magic (and only plays along with this 'mutant' stuff, even thoe sh…

A question for any budding geneticists (or fully fledged ones for that matter..). If I remember my rudimentary genetics info from High School biology (and that is much farther back in my history than I care to remember...) Females are XX and Males are XY. Does anyone know of the existence of a YY chromosome out there? I believe there may be a couple of genetic disorders in which the patient may have an extra chromosome (as in XYY) or some such, but I've no idea what that entails for the "fortunate" individual. The reason for the curiosity is that there is a character concept in which the character is dubbed "The First Man" who genetically is YY. I just wondered …

I'm starting a new Champions campaign on Tuesday, and I would like peoples opinion of the campaign timeline. The timeline is designed to do two things. 1. Move the Champions out of Millennium City. I want to use Millennium City when it comes out and I want the group to be the main heros in the city. I still wanted to keep the Champions in the campaign universe. 2. I wanted to set things up for the first adventure. Think Fantastic Four meets Star Hero . Can't tell you more since one of the players is a member of the Hero Boards. Thanks, Mike Campaign Timeline • Jan 2000 – Millennium Project completed, city re-opened. • Spring 2000: Defender moves…
