Just wanted to say it was very nice meeting Steve, Darren, and Ben at Dundracon today! Millenium City looks like it will be a very cool book, and will go on my must-buy list! Expect my art portfolio to be headed your way within a week's time. I wish I'd had more time to talk to you, but I was already late for the game I was GMing...

Hello, Need costume ideas for a sketch for a new superteen. Please read this origin for an dea of her appearance and see what you can think of... Liquidator's Backstory Ava DuPois grew up with a normal childhood. Up til the 8th grade, she was one of the more popular girls in school, into all the athletics, and captain of her pep squad. During the summer prior to her freshman year, her parents went out for the weekend for their anniversary, leaving her alone in the house on her own. She was just about to have a salad for dinner when the doorbell rang. It was a pizza delivery guy, with a large pizza for her. She was about to mention that she h…

One of my favorite non-"Ultimate" books for Champions has to be Allies. It's just so useful to either pull them for DNPCs, Hunteds (with the serial numbers filed off), filler characters, and sometimes even a character to give a new player to help them out. So, shortly (as soon as the outline is done), I'm gonna send Hero Games a proposal for Allies and Associates, which is like CKC, except that they're good guys (mostly). Here's my question-what do you want in a book on Allies and Associates? What I'm thinking of is- 1)Two big super-organizations (Primus and Danger, Inc (Danger, Inc is the huge contracting firm for low-to-mid powered superheroes, like GUR…

Okay, apologies for the site not getting an update recently. The day job has gotten "interesting", the part-time job doing freelance RPG writing has picked up, I've suddenly acquired a social life on Saturday nights, and I've been in a tizzy since I found out that Robin Laws (who I know!!!) is writing IRON MAN for the moment. I've got a draft of the Mark V armor that needs tweaking (Rivet-head), and then I'll be doing the Classic armor up... which is going to be the most complicated conversion. I'll likely post a draft of that here, for comments and help working out some of the bugs. And if you haven't picked it up, IRON MAN #65 was actually pretty good. Mana…

If anyone has not gotten their votes in yet, today is the last day to vote for either Kinetik or Slipstream; assuming it's not already too late.

We got into a discussion over at the "Send in the Bricks" thread about micro-bricks. That's bricks with shrinking who retain their mass (three levels of DI/level of Shrinking). So I cooked up "Microman". Yeah, I know. I'm addicted to silver age cheese. Hey, I just like it when it's been aged for about 50 years (okay, 49...). I'll probably work up a sketch this weekend and post here. Let me know what you think. I recommend saving it to a txt file rather than viewing it directly from your browser. I just tried that and IE won't support the carriage returns.

My wife has recently been working with me on her first character. The campaign is a Dark Champions game set in our hometown and her PC is a Catwoman-style character with a whip, brass knuckles, and a black belt in kickboxing. Anyhoo, I've just finished helping her write up her PCs Whip. Lemme know watcha think: 55 Taser-Whip: Multipower (125 point reserve, All OAF (-1), All Limited Range:3" (-1/4)) 1u Whiplash: HKA 1d6, Ranged (+1/2), Limited Range: 3" (-1/4), Str Min 8 (-1/2), Str Min Doesn't Add/Subtract To Damage (-1/2), OAF (-1), Reduced Endurance: 0 END (+1/2) 5u Taser: Drain STUN 5d6, Ranged (+1/2), Limted Range: 3" (-1/4), OAF (-1), NND (defense …

I have it. At last, I have Conquerors, Killers and Crooks!! Well done. I'm still disappointed Ripper, Deathstroke and The Conquerors didn't make the cut. I finally finished coloring all the pictures in Classic Enemies. Now I have to start anew (well, except for Black Paladin and a few recycles) with CKC. I have begun scanning and slowly stripping away the shading to reveal the line-art. I know asking for color pictures is too much to ask, but at least give us lineart so we can make our own. Champions is a comicbook simulator, I hate when my pictures look photocopied. The characters are great. The write-ups are really helpful. It has long been a pet peave of…

I've been thinking of this idea a lot lately and it harkens back to the days of yesteryear and IIRC Rainbow Archer. RA had bought a MP full of attacks with No Range/OAF/Charges as a quiver of Arrows. Then she bought Usable at Range on the MP through an OAF (Bow). It's more of an excercise in "would it be cool" than a character concept, but it does bring up some other examples: 1) LOTR: Legolas stabs an Orc with and arrow and then notches it and lets fly 2) Green Arrow: GA uses a "Torch Arrow" to cut through a lock rather than using it as a weapon 3) Bloodstone: Old-never-quite-caught-on Marvel character with a Shotgun. His shotgun sheels we "metally act…

I posted this in another thread, think it should be in its own, didn't seem to be the right place. A player in my group that I game with has a problem. The player is somewhat annoying he hates the combat system in HERO so he makes a combat monster that ends combats very quickly. The GM doesn't pay attention so the 10d6 killing attack ended up going through which makes almost all combats quick and uninteresting. It is strange because not in combat he usually does the exact opposite of what the party does. Thankfully, this usually makes some interesting plot points but it is getting very old. (and it doesn’t help that he plays in every game with similar characters) Any ti…

Thoughts of the soon to be out Daredevil movie drew me to this question. What characters in the Champions Universe would pass the cosplay test? That is, what costumes would not look ridiculous if they were worn by someone in real world.

Last night my group finally (officially) formed a team and got government backing. They were deeded the land they wanted beneath the (real world) colonial fort in the area. When it came time to discuss contractors, the government agent recommended several options for building their base. During part of the conversation, he pulled out a huge pearl shaped object and mentioned the Verminax (see Mystic Masters if you don't know the full story). He then went on to other options. The Mystic in the group made the necessary roll to know who the Verminax were and how to summon them. I looked on in utter disbelief as the party selected the Verminax Option... I mean, they'd be…

I thought of this due to the DD clone someone just posted. How do people deal with those who have multipowers containing both movement powers and attacks (or defenses!). By the rules they could theoretically make a half move and then swap their points over to something else to attack/defend, but that always feels abusive to me. How do people treat this? The "levels swapping" issue is similar, although in my group we just settled on the rule that a level can only be assigned one place per phase. As per the rules (reassigning levels is 0-phase and thus could be done after a half-move or skill usage) it can get messy. -DG

Any news on when we're going to see some more Protectors pics? If the old boards can't be recovered, then I'm willing to start from scratch and repost the character conversions. So far I've done Doc Sonic, Renegade, Silverfist, Helios and Ace. That leaves Warlock and his entourage (haven't forgotten about them!), Maelstrom, Huntsman, Brainstorm, and of course, Quasar. Glen

Some sketches of PCs in my WCH campaign. Hopefully we can start playing again you guys! Anyway, the first is for Luke - don't know what his name is on these boards. Character is Xu Liko, a VERY VERY old Chinese martial artist. The second is PatternGhosts' character - ThunderHawk. I would have just posted them to my own website, but my web host is having problems. The problem is that they are incompetent.

Has anyone figured out good converstion forumalas between the Hero System and the D10 Tri-Stat system used in Guardians of Order's Silver Age Sentinels RPG? I figured with all the "friendly" rivalry going on between the two companies and their fans that someone would want to see what having a character like the Sentinel in your campaign would REALLY entail....

Is there anyone here who is really good at drawing superhero character portraits/images and willing to do so as a volunteer (just for practice)? I'm trying to figure out what some of my characters look like.

When I see Ultimate Vehicle at DunDraCon, I will be sorely torn. I wonder if I'll have enough money to buy it, but I will definitely WANT it. What all kinds of vehicles are included in this book, anyway, for those who have seen in? Supercars? Fighter jets? Transforming piloted robots? Space battlestations? Submarines that a superteam can ride to their undersea base?
