Might as well start this now, it's not far off...scary as that sounds. So, Deion Sanders isn't exactly on my Christmas card list, but still.... You might've seen him last year, where he was getting around on the sidelines, his left leg on a rolling cart...couldn't walk on it. Kinda weird. Never did hear...or maybe didn't remember...why. Yes, well... Turns out he had surgery to repair a dislocated toe. That...had issues. It led to blood clots. And more surgery. And the removal of 2 toes. (Ick.) It's been getting worse. More surgery scheduled Friday to relieve clots...and here's the kicker. Or non-kicker, perhaps..…

We just wrapped up 2022 with a Superdraft—the first we've ever run in December, if memory serves correctly—so I guess it's time to begin talking about 2023. If no one has any objections, I have an idea for one in January. I would start it on the 9th. If any of you have one you would like to run later in the year, tell me when and we'll keep it updated here. Sound good?

Ahoy, me hearties! It’s time for the first Get Your Ship Together Superdraft! In this draft, you will select a ship, her crew, her cargo, and anything else you need to tell a compelling story. Supporting fiction is strongly recommended, as always. We will begin the draft on Thursday, June 1st at noon Eastern Daylight Time. (Ask Siri what time that is where you live.) We will make one pick each day, including weekends, until Thursday, June 15th. That’s right, there are fifteen total picks available! Many of these will be Options, to allow you to go in whatever direction works best for your story. Your picks will include the following: T…

This website claims to be "an artificial intelligence dedicated to generating unlimited amounts of unique inspirational quotes." In fact it combines random words and phrases with images pulled from various sources to look like a motivational poster, but what you usually get is gloriously hilarious non-sequitur. Also has a "mindfulness mode" in which you get a voice reading the quotations. Completely free and devoid of ads, although you can order merch with the words and images you generate printed on them. On rare occasions the quotations might be a little NSFW. https://inspirobot.me/

With the draft imminent, I think we can expect there will be Considerable Grousing about how Our Team Messed Up...and laughter at the follies of other teams' draft choices. Since that's so focused on the upcoming season, it feels the proper time to kick off a fresh thread for our discussions.

It's interesting...not something I'd thought much about, but watching almost any sports, you see Vuori getting pushed to both men and women. Sometimes Lululemon, too. But this was a bit of a surprise today: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/13/opinion/soft-hard-pants.html?unlocked_article_code=Zie0guICSsJ5A1zpTHmJjE0Eb9rCbB4tgCS0-l4D0dvtS3YP01x1RnfsdlSbTDQ7JZYNiXT5RRlvJvX4J9uQ1d1Qm4BdDN3da7Er1l0eqYpGb-J9-UcidJbcYulkh4tFZWl7UzXlkLSQC_D-6fnH318XE-jViDfLxKSiNeoavSaAlQ3GgdUfh5n0rIUhHQBZMIcqGd4Oz_GCb5pkOx3QHplxNyGRBsQLjQtaRzJqXcs3Rj3rDIQ3iAVilzgTK2HcK6RIoQM-L2OrPbrzT40sESicfdNi73g7cJnMyQQe_bIWHGUHiQ6VhLwh4yjAoUU4j8vcFZWQcVlF0g&smid=url-share Interes…

http://www.comicmix.com/columns/2012/07/10/emily-s-whitten-geek-culture-no-really-were-not-more-enlightened/ I think that she makes some really good points. Some of the things she talks about are things that I have seen here on the Hero Boards and in many other geek communities. Enjoy, Tasha --------- Emily S. My friend decided to join Sir Terry on the morning of May 31 2022 - a master of trivia and avid hero games enthusiast. TJack always liked stories and told some to his goddaughter two days ago. He then threatened to tell racy stories about the 14 year old’s mother “when you get to be 18”. TJack humored me. He had created Jack Flash who was Bill Maxwell rejuvenated by the little green guys and given Ralph Hinkley’s supersuit who promptly got lost in the multiverse while testing his powers. I suggested that since Bill Maxwell had lost his Black partner at the FBi and that Robert Culp played Kelly Robinson in I Spy that it would be a cute twist if Bill the FBI…

THe world of illustration has been roiled these past four months by the release of Dall-E, and Stable Diffusion since. Charges of art theft, due to the researchers scraping publiucally posted art, and photographs, up to 5 billion images, without regards to ownership, and getting to the point, that the text prompts can specify a certain artist's style, have generated protests on gallery sites and concept art boards, across the net. However, a court precedent has decided that only humans and human generated art can be protected. Therefore A.I. generated art, is automatically in the public domain.

I may not be on the list but my friends are. Perhaps you know them? Franklin, Grant, and Jackson! It's time for the 2021 Master List Superdraft! This draft is a superhero draft of the kind we have seen often on this forum. This particular draft seeks to maximize the event of one player 'sniping' another. To do this, most of your picks will come from a small list that we will jointly create. May 1: everyone drafts 8 characters. Some heroes, some villains, all characters appropriate to the superhero genre. We want everyone's list in QUICKLY, so it doesn't matter if there are duplicates. These characters are sent to me by PM. Y…

I picked up this game recently, as I had a little money to spare. It was a very slow download from Steam for me, for some reason but loads up pretty fast. The start up screens are very slow; you get a 1-minute Epilepsy warning, then a 1-minute (or more) screen where its checking shaders. Just a tip, when you are first installing it, you will get a big screen with a zillion options for things like color blindness, then a screen of options, and if you click to adjust the options, you have to go BACK from that screen to then start up the game. Overall the game plays well and has a great feel to it. Its got the same whimsical feel as Harry Potter, overlaid wit…

Passed away on Monday, in a Toronto hospital. He was 84. https://apnews.com/article/gordon-lightfoot-folk-music-dead-4c5f0763797da6a5f3ea8c90947352fc He had...gee, thinking back...not a great voice, but he used it superbly to tell stories. If you're of a certain generation, it's almost impossible not to remember The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Take any random character from any random system and pit that character against another from any random system. They do not need to be the same type of character either. One could be super while the other could be fantasy or scifi. It also does not need to be an even one-to-one match. There could be one "group" of three against a "group" of four. All of the contestants will be able to use all their abilities but no allies other than those named at the start. First into the Arena: Darth Vader versus Ultron

Thought this would be the place to ask. I'm looking for images of piles of dead superheroes. Like, the whole DC roster, or the Marvel roster, or even a pile of superheroes from other creators. I thought this would be an easy search: I'm positive 10% of my comic collection has covers like this*! But my collection is in storage. It's for a Champions campaign I am running, long story, but that's all I got. Please post here if you find any! *I mean, it's a trope that there is a pile of defeated/dead superheroes with the lone villain posing on top of the pile, victorious. Often used to entice readers to buy the comic.

Just walking out of the theater. Every bit as good as the first one, probably because they took it in a totally different direction from the first rather than trying to give us more of the same. Perhaps Police Academy taught some folks that more of the same will never have the fresh surprise of being what it is for the first time. Just like the first one, Darla gets the best line in the movie.
