I know; he's imortan Joe to a whole new generation of fans, but I always thought his performance as the Toe Cutter was deeply, truly disturbing in a way that Hollywood just cant do. RIP, Hugh Keays-Byrne.

To prove that 2020 has not finished with us yet, now the Turkeys have risen in revolt. They are armed and they are dangerous. Stay in your homes. If you see a Turkey, call the police at once. Widespread fighting has been reported. Texas and New York City have fallen to the Turkey masses. However all is not lost. Alaska has repelled the Turkey menace as it was too cold for them. Florida has also stopped the Turkeys in their tracks by calling in hurricanes from the Atlantic Ocean. The latest news is that the Turkeys have pardoned the President. They have been given free memberships to his golf resorts as a reward. More on this prepos…

Good day to everyone here at NGD! As some of you may know, I run a website called Embrace Your Geekness and at that website, we have a Hall of Fame. We do a poll every year where we at EYG nominate several items, people, characters, movies etc and the top vote getters are inducted into the EYG Hall of Fame. This is the EYG Hero Games NGD Award that we do every year (this is the fifth year for this award) How this works: I am looking for nominations from the community of NGD for the best comic book artists or comic book writers of all time. I would ask that you nominate those creators who you think have do…

Recently, I stumbled across a series of YouTube videos listing the best song intros, best bass intros, best vocal intros, best acoustic guitar intros, etc. Then I heard someone (unrelated) wondering what the best song ending is. This intrigued me because an astonishing number of songs don't have an ending they just fade out. (Really big in the 70s and 80s from my memory.) So, I got to thinking about it. And I want to ask others for ideas. My first choice is spoiled here. Let's Go Crazy, Prince What are your thoughts? Any genre.

http://www.geologyin.com/2020/01/7-billion-year-old-stardust-is-oldest.html?m=1 Scientists recently identified the oldest material on Earth: stardust that's 7 billion years old, tucked away in a massive, rocky meteorite that struck our planet half a century ago. And in a meteorite that fell fifty years ago in Australia, scientists have now discovered stardust that formed 5 to 7 billion years ago -- the oldest solid material ever found on Earth.

Detonating artillery shells falling on Dunkirk echoed in the distance. It was late May, 1940, my father was only eleven years old. He was in a small restaurant with my grandfather, the two of them perplexed by the French soldier sitting next to them having a feast. The soldier's meal was lavish, far in excess of what virtually all Europeans were used to in those days of rationing. My grandfather struck up conversation with the soldier. "Excuse me, but you are using up all your ration coupons on this one meal. What will you eat later if you spend them all like this?" The soldier smiled forlornly and explained, "Tomorrow the Germans will attack." He …

I was visiting Trailer Addict to see if there was anything new and I noticed a article written by the TA staff that makes me seriously wonder if people are really suffering from diminished mental abilities. The article was “How Does ‘Flash Gordon’ Stack Up To Other Classic Superhero Films?” Seriously? That is like asking ‘How does your Bayliner ski boat’s performance stack up to other bicycles?” 1980’s Flash Gordon was a campy adaptation of a Pulp Scifi adventure story/comic strip about a swashbuckling but normal human. while Superhero stories are about Heroes that have fantastic superhuman powers. The only thing that they ev…

I know you probably hear this everywhere, but this election is likely to be the largest in American history. Please, if you have not already done so, make some time tomorrow and cast your vote. I am sure some of you will vote differently than me and that's to be expected, we are a diverse nation with many different peoples and opinions. But please do make your voice heard in the least controversial way possible: Cast your ballot. - E

Sean Connery was the first actor to play James Bond, and in the minds of many people, still the best one. But his career was much more than that. What is your favorite Sean Connery role other than James Bond?

Not an ad, as I’m not a lender, but I am a subject matter expert (SME, in my business slang). Mortgages can be confusing and intimidating, and currently, rates are quite literally at all time lows the likes of which I never expected to see in my lifetime. As a point of reference, we just bought a house and I managed to secure a 2.75% interest rate. If you are interested in purchasing or refinancing, I can answer the common questions. If you have a question related to the industry, to your own circumstance, or just how everything works, this is the thread to post those. I’ll answer what I can, provide guidance where applicable, and redirect as necessary. My spe…

Let's take a stab at some more classic scifi, the show I know best, The Twilight Zone! Favorite, not necessarily best, though I imagine there will be some overlap. (As a superfan I can say my favorite episode, A Game of Pool, is not always on the best lists.)

Some of you probably know this site but it was new to me. HeroMachine.com. Needs Flash; they're working on that, since Flash is gonna go bye-bye fairly soon, but the online version is free. You can buy a copy for Mac or PC pretty cheap too. This is Simoom. Simoom is a regional name for a very, very nasty desert wind...VERY hot, very dusty. That inspired his power set...a few different types of blast, can lock you into a sandstorm that's all in your head, can create a region of blowing dust that blocks all sight (but not his), desolid (but at full END so not for long). I think the visuals come out quite nicely; wanted a little different head gear, but that …
