Along with Rogue One’s theatrical run, a 1981 70 inch print (pre Special Edition) was shown along with it. This was for critics. Article speculates that after the new Star Wars film and before the next trilogy that is still 3 years away, Lucasfilm could re-release the original print of Star Wars to keep people interested. I've noticed that the covers on Champions Complete and Champions Powers feel really light weight even compared to older paperback game manuals like Mekton Z or the BESM series, so I thought about converting them to hard covers. I know there are professional businesses that handle such things, but oddly enough they want to get paid for their time and I'm kinda broke, especially when there's so many parts of this collectible textbook game I haven't got yet So, I turned to the repository and font of all human knowledge, YouTube! After a couple hours of poking around and staunchly resisting getting sidetracked, this appears to be the most concise yet useful video …

This was a fun movie. I'd give a solid B. Levi was great, a believable wide-eyed teenager. Kind of a double origin story in that a lot of time was spent on Sivana. Little Darla and Darla Marvel stole the movie. I was surprised they jumped into the Marvel Family in this movie, but it really worked. Two end credit scenes, one intro-ing the next villain - Mister Mind - and the 2nd was a poke at Aquaman. The Superman cameo was nice. Basically 'Big' with superheroes as everyone expected and the folks who made the movie knew it as well with the scene in the toy store. More dark humor than I thought they'd have, but overall a fun 2 hours.

As I get older I tend to forget certain things which are or should be important. One of them appears to be something significant about today's date. Now the Glastonbury Festival was last weekend. The Tour de France starts on Saturday. In ten days time on July 14th it is Bastille Day in France. But I am sure there is something about today that I should recall but for the life of me I can't think what it is. Can anyone clue me in ?

As requested, I have started a thread for the upcoming NBA season now that the new league year is well underway (the subtitle was suggested in the end of last season's thread.) Free agency is still underway, but the plums seem to all be taken. What's left is dubious. And Portland re-upping with RFA center Jusuf Nurkic for $12 million a year (average) strikes me as odd. My thoughts on players like Nurkic are not exactly charitable. He might be a valuable piece, and there aren't that many available options at that position, but his first full season in Portland was disappointing and doesn't quite justify his folk-hero status here. Portland isn't likely to conten…

For any and all people who loved what Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman wrote together and were wondering if it would ever get turned into a TV Series... It is. May 31. I may have to get Amazon Prime... if I can. Goddess help me. If this popped up else where here, I forgot to do a search before I posted this.

...you realize your half-year car insurance AND property taxes really should be paid today...... ouch......... on the plus side, I got my cold-weather coffees on order, from a place I've used before and REALLY liked but hadn't used cuz their shipping cost was really bad. Yes, well, they made some better arrangements and it's back to sane. So perhaps my favorite espresso blend, a Sumatra, and a dry process Ethiopia on the way. That helps...but they roast/ship only once a week so it'll be a bit before it gets hiere. <sigh>

Ok, all aboard the hype train. From this original teaser published January 10, 2013. To this year's undisputed "best shocking reveal" at E3: If it was anyone but CD Projekt Red, I'd absolutely be bracing myself for disappointment. But wow. I cannot wait until April of 2020.

The draft is over, free agency is about to become official, and it's time for the new season thread. Random observation: Whoever are handling the affairs of Bol Bol seems to have done the kid a horrible disservice. They cheat to get him into Oregon (probably putting the school into serious trouble with the NCAA), have him turn pro despite having played only nine collegiate games before an injury of the worst type for a big man to get, and expect him to still be a lottery pick? Nope. Mid-second rounder, 44th overall. He might not even make an NBA roster. And the reason he fell so far is that nobody is sure if he even really wants to play professional basketbal…

For the first day of Star Wars Month I wish to rectify an oversight. It has come to my attention that not everyone remembers the names of the main characters of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Allow me then, to remind all of you of who these brave beings were-- Jyn Erso--Daughter of Galen Erso and habitual criminal turned Rebel agent. Gave everything to acquire the plans for the Empire's ultimate weapon. Cassian Andor--Rebellion intelligence officer. Together with Jyn Erso they were able to acquire the Death Star plans. K-2S0--Reprogrammed enforcement droid. Sacrificed himself to give Andor and Erso the time they needed to secure the plan…

Happy Father's Day to any and all fathers out there, and to any and all mothers who were called upon to fill that role themselves. And for those "Baby Daddy" types who made children and ran, never taking the responsibility for what they had done, only to turn around and do it again and again, go die in a dumpster fire. Wow. Apparently I _can_ run out of love for my fellow man. Hunh. At any rate, for all you fathers and father-figures, remember the point of this day: To exhaust yourselves doing things you really don't want to to humor those who love you, and think that you really do want to. Bear it with dignity, with gr…

The Children of the Gods: Since we are doing the World Creation Draft next month and we did the adopted children of the UA at the start of the year, I thought what would happen if we combined the two for a month. We've already done a draft like this, but I couldn't find it with the search. Here's the premise in a nutshell. Various planes of existences have been disrupted. Pantheons of gods and their supporters have gone to war with the menace from beyond order and defeated it at a cost. Their numbers have been depleted and their responsibilities are threatening to sink Reality under the strain. Something has to be done. After much argument, it was decreed…
