I seem to remember there were more than a few Kim Possible fans around here back in the day--heck, Michael Surbrook wrote her up in HERO on his site. So it should interest more than some around here that there is a live-action Kim Possible made-for-Disney movie coming this Saturday, and from what I see of the preview video-- it looks like a really good deal. There's a scene at about 0:55 where Shego uses her energy blast power for flight--something I don't remember from the cartoons, but it's a neat trick. The movie premieres this Saturday (2-16) at 8 PM ET/7 PM CT--time enough to plan a watch party, or set your Tivos/DVRs, or VH…

Ye gawds, it's the World Creation SuperDraft! You are a god. We are building a new fantasy mythology from scratch. Working with all of the other gods, you are going to create a new world. The setting is completely blank. You will need to contribute your divine ideas to build the lands and populate them with a variety of life. Here's what you'll need in your divine portfolio. Domains of Influence. These are special realms of control and responsibility for which you are known and prayed to. You will have one primary domain and three secondary domains. Secondary domains can be a new area of influence or can recreate any of the other divine contr…

Here's the story: You're a burglar, but you don't steal anything. Instead, you break into someone's house and then do something that will inconvenience (as opposed to 'impoverish' or 'endanger') the owners; e.g., reversing all the toilet paper or hot-gluing the lids on everything in the refrigerator. What's your prank?

https://www.gateworld.net/news/2019/02/carmen-argenziano-1943-2019/ The veteran stage and screen actor died Saturday at the age of 75. Before he was cast as General Jacob Carter on Stargate SG-1 in 1998, science fiction fans already knew him as the Centauri Urza Jaddo, old friend to Londo Mollari, in the Babylon 5 episode “Knives.”

I'm blatantly stealing this game from another forum because it is about to disappear. Here's the gist of the game: participants will nominate two entries in the week's topic. Then I'll randomly post the nominations in a tournament style format and we'll vote on our favorites. Repeat until we get to a single winner. Ok, let's give this a try Our first tourney will honor the final one in that other place, RIP. For the Best Super Weekend Read by the Fireplace Tournament, each participant will submit two entries of a comic book series arc, limited comic series, or comic graphic novel that was published 10 years ago or older, that they would enjoy spending a col…

So many days there are several threads hotly debating things I am interested in but I have no time to get really involved. Today? I have been stuck at Heathrow and JFK for several hours with nothing to do but use the free WiFi and what do I find? Almost nothing of interest.... At least I will be in US time for the SuperBowl tonight... Doc

Great Galloping Geminis, it’s the Noah’s Ark Superdraft! This Superdraft runs much like the ones we’ve done in the past, with one key difference: You will be making your draft picks two at a time! That’s right, true believers, you’ll be drafting heroes, villains, locations, and options in pairs. Here’s how it’ll work: We’ll start drafting on Monday, January 7th at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. (That should be 10:00 p.m. in London and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in Darwin, if memory serves.) On that date, you’ll make your first pair of selections. Then, at that same time each day for the next two weeks (skipping Saturday and Sunday) you’ll make another pair of pick…

I got a new computer today after my previous one died of old age Monday. I want to open up an e-mail account, since I haven't had one since I change internet providers a couple of years ago (and didn't think to open up one there at the time) Unfortunately finding a place to open up an account is impossible. As I do not have an active one (which would mean I wouldn't need to open one) nor a mobile phone. I apparently one or both at every site I have tried. (current internet provider, g-mail, yahoo)

George Perez retiring Perez is one of my top 5 fav all-time artists (probably #3 after Kirby and Lee) and worked on some the best comic runs ever such as Teen Titans, Crisis and the early 2000s Avengers reboot. Sorry to see you go, George.

There was a huge snowstorm predicted for my area last night. As usual it turned out to be nothing, but it brought to mind a discussion my wife and I have had on several occasions. Here is the situation: You are driving in a snowstorm, and you are off the beaten path, not on a major highway with constant traffic. (Perhaps you were heading over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house and you got lost.) We are assuming that you do not have a cell phone, or that it has no signal where you are, so you cannot simply call for help and give out your GPS coordinates. In any case the road becomes inpassible and you are stuck where yo…
