Whether you have a survivalist's secret stash in mind, are running a "most dangerous game" scenario, or simply want to give a bit of color to the firepower you dole out to the Player Characters, you've come to the right place. Each post will contain one or more themed travel (duffel) bags packed with a primary firearm, secondary firearm, melee weapon, and various other items (some are handy in survival scenarios, others are useful for a specific mission-oriented task, and a few are nice creature comforts). --- Bags come in a variety of colors. What matters most in this regard is whether you are opting for stealth or obviousness. Stealthier bags will likely be …

I was going over my hard copy of "Murderers Row" and got to wondering about one of the "narrators" (other than Harbinger of Justice). Where can I find information on the "Master of Crime"? And where can I find the book he appears in, either hardcopy or digital (preferably .PDF format) thanks to anyone who responds.

The following collection of characters are based on various heroes, anti-heroes, and villains mentioned in assorted pop/rock/country/folk songs. I've tried to avoid adding to much to any one character, sticking mostly to what the song gives us, although I did give additional ideas in the character's Description section on things the GM might want to add. Enjoy.

Greetings all, I am new to this site. After many years of not playing role playing games, (I played rpg games with my brother when I was a kid), I have recently gotten the "bug" to get interested in this hobby again. I have played the Online game of Champions, but have always found the tabletop role-playing game so much more fun with its campaigns and interactions with other players. I am really interested in learning and hearing more about the Dark Champions game. One of my favorite movie series was the Chris Nolan's Batman series, and Arrow (at least the first several seasons) has always been one of the most enjoyable shows I have ever seen in terms of superher…

This might interest some of y'all -- it's the first series of blogs about vigilantism in 1970s-80s comics that Ron Edwards (of Sorcerer fame) and I are writing. We open with a look at everyone's favorite gun-toting crimefighter, the Punisher. This blog covers 1974-1986; we'll do another one covering 1986 and onward. We've got plans to cover lots of other characters -- the Question (and Mr. A), the Vigilante, Rorschach, the Scourge of the Underworld, the Prowler, the Foolkiller, Batman, and many more -- so stay tuned and let us know what you think! Eat hot lead, comics readers! There's no direct correlation to gaming, but the blogs are written less as full schol…

Gun Barrel Overheat 1 2 3

I've heard that autofire weapons can experience overheating of the barrel due to heavy use. Does anyone know if this is covered in the rules anywhere? If it isn't, how could this be simulated?

I've very recently started playing The Division, and it got me to wondering a few things about doing it as a Hero campaign so I thought I'd ask the forum for advice and opinions. 1) How many points would be reasonable for a PC? I'm wondering if Powerful Heroic might be better than Heroic to simulate characters in the game. 2) Could Hudson City be modified to use as the setting, or would it be better to stick to New York? How would you suggest cutting off Hudson City? 3) What package deals in Dark Champions would fit best with this setting? I'm thinking just the military ones?

Prison uniform picked up from DeviantArt Showing the meanings of all of the different uniforms a person can find themselves in during their stay at The Cage. He also wrote the following descriptions: Yellow Flat: This uniform is the standard jumpsuit for inmates in The Cage at Low Security. Inmates have both name and number printed on each breast of the uniform. On The Back is the Block letters ‘INMATE’ as well as the facility ‘THE CAGE’ underneath is smaller lettering. Down One Leg is the lettering ‘INMATE’ Orange Flat: This jumpsuit is for MEDIUM SECURITY INMATES ONLY. Transport restraints are the Transport belt, Cuffs and Leg Irons. Inmates in this Security ha…

I have seen snipers used in one of a few ways. 1. A fully faceless threat to show that a territory is dangerous and that the party ought to "snap to". This typically happens by having a neutral/friendly NPC in the PCs' vicinity getting their melon exploded. Afterwards, the PCs head into a building/underground/vehicle/etc and don't encounter a sniper again. 2. An obstacle not unlike a diabolical trap in a dungeon. The PCs must confront them, outmaneuvering through sheer wits and courage. The enemy sniper is not necessarily killed. 3. An often unknown foe for the party's resident sniper/marksman to take on during their time in the limelight. 4. A named/known…

Worse than rape 1 2 3

Topic says it all. What would you consider to be worse than rape? I have an idea for a female hero, who has had bad things happen to her, tortured, soul destroying, etc... I have some real gruesome visuals in my head, but one thing I want is for it to have been more traumatic to her than if she had been raped (A crimelord broke her basically)...ideas?

Does anyone know of an up-to-date version of the "Countries of the World" list from old Danger International (pp 135-141)? I was kinda trying to update it, then thought "hey, wonder if anyone else has already done this?" Since the original list is from the mid 80's (IIRC), it is horribly out of date (heck it lists EAST Germany and the USSR as countries).

I am considering running a campaign and can use advice from Herodom Assembled. (As an aside, yes this is SCUBA Hero from ages (years) past for those who remember me. I will shortly be posting a “SCUBA Hero Is Back!!!” topic in Non-Gaming Discussion. It’s *good* to be back!) I’m looking at a modern-day campaign in which a secret civilian air force battles an alien force, with the general public unaware. (Yes, this is based on Near Space Defense from Super Agents.) For the vehicular combat – I envision a pilots vs. aliens combat at the end of each session – I want dramatic/cinematic combat (instead of hex maps and turn modes). I have The Ultimate Vehicle, and th…

In Dark Champions many bad guys have "Casual Killer" as a Psychological Complication, having no problems ending the lives of anyone around them, whereas many vigilante heroes have "Vigilante Mentality" in their write-up. Vigilante Mentality is described as being like Casual Killer but with a focus. In the case of serial killers, it seems to me that they might also be something other than Casual Killer sorts. Their motivations to kill are often targeted towards a certain type of prey. Some also leave ego signatures at their crime scenes. I'm thinking of using "Serial Killer Mentality" on a character sheet to define their killing mentality, but I'm open to ideas. …

I was asked recently to run a Heroes Unlimited Campaign for my Sister-in-Law and her family, but I didn't want to use the palladium rules, so I looked around and found Hero System. I'd heard of it before but never used it, had a quick read of the rules and thought I'd give it a go. So I established a setting using the Wold Newton Timeline as background and history. The city I chose to set it in was my home city Brisbane, Australia. Decided to run the game every second Friday night, unfortunately the first night no one showed up because of family issues. During the next fortnight I changed some things in the setting, I decided it would be a heroci level game with characte…

I was listening to the news as is normal and heard what is tragically super normal in the US: a young black boy's cop murderer was protected by a biased prosecutor and set free as a bit of a holiday gift. Why I think this is salient to the topic of the thread is it got me thinking about the unreasonableness of private-corporate police in the old Shadow Run series (Although it applies to most cyberpunk genre games, I would imagine). One thing that got me about it was that it was so clearly woven into the fabric of society that no one really seemed to question the idea that a police department would be privately owned and funded and thus not under some general obligation to…

Hi, I'm using 6th ed rules and trying to build a campaign set in Gotham where the player characters will be low-powered, street-level criminals. I want to use this to explore some of the real world reasons and pressures behind criminality with the additional fun of the particular considerations and dangers of being a criminal in Gotham. A major consideration for the characters and something I'm seeing as a major focus or sort of a story-propelling conflict device is the idea of faction by faction reputation for each character. Something like, if a character pulls off a robbery of an arms cache and some guys connected with Penguin's gang witness it or hear of it, that…

I find repeated references to Close Quarters Battle in my reading, in some it is referred to in the same breath as unarmed self defence, bayonet drill or other techniques. DC has the option of applying a penalty to DEX for purposes of determining who shoots first, based on weapon length. The background reading on Commando Training (Fairbairn, Sykes etc.) describes methods of shooting on the move, unarmed combat, etc. Options I can think of for defining CQB: The DC optional Rule a KS and/or PS a variant of a particular martial art (Commando Training, Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, or Gunf-Fu) one or more custom martial art manoeuvres a combination of CSL's and P…

Hi In a Classic Dark Champions source book there is a Bad Guy called The Passion Killer, does Hero Games own the rights to him because I want to use a different version of Him for my comic idea. I like the idea of the Kidneys used to keep him healthy and young, but my twist is that Dr Gull originally stopped Jack the Ripper in his time, it's his great Grand son that's do the modern killing he found the recipe, LW

How would one make a death through a Killing Attack appear to be from natural causes? It should leave no toxicology trace or signs of violence. The person would appear to have died from something natural like heart attack or stroke. I'm thinking it would be some form of Invisible Power Effect, but I'm not sure how to write it.

I'm converting GRAmel's Tropicano to HERO. Seems like the coolest idea for Dark Champions/Danger International. Please have a look at the reviews on your favorite PDF site. My group only plays HERO and PFRPG, so a lot of conversion will be required. If there is interest, I'll post my conversions.
