I'm converting GRAmel's Tropicano to HERO. Seems like the coolest idea for Dark Champions/Danger International. Please have a look at the reviews on your favorite PDF site. My group only plays HERO and PFRPG, so a lot of conversion will be required. If there is interest, I'll post my conversions.

I was looking at Tertiary Education and have come up with the beginnings of a prefab for HD, I picked the first one in the list Diploma of Health Sciences and then went to the weblink for the course details. Using the course details I came up with this: Stage 1 is for a year 11 school leaver and is meant to bring them up to speed for Stage 2 which is aimed at someone who has completed secondary school (each stage takes 1 year of study time). I want to clue in a PC that they are about to be ambushed as they enter a completely silent auditorium. The way i'll be doing this is by having the bad guy cock the hammer on a Magnum-type revolver as they stand off a good ways away in a section of darkness. However, I am not quite sure how much the basic Perception roll (before distance is factored in) should be adjusted...if at all. What would a reasonable ruling in this case be?

Hey all! I am going to create an NPC that fights with a cane as his melee weapon of choice (he is a expert Le Canne De Combat fighter). In order to further give this blunt weapon wielder an edge, i'd like to hear ideas on how to make his cane even more useful/surprising in battle. The good ol' sword cane is out, because that would make the NPC's skills more centered around sword fighting techniques.

I've been toying around with the idea of running some Commando comics -influenced World War 2 game with pulpy heroes boosted with abilities from Dark Champions and Pulp Hero. The players would participate in a number of imagined and real world operations in various World War 2 theaters in their adventures. I've looked at writeups for weapons of the era in Hero and I wanted to make some changes. Hopefully this thread will contain many "realistic" weapons for greater verisimilitude in WW2 era combats. SO I'm building this military based game. And one of my biggest concern so far is to make each weapon seems more unique and the Rifles gives me trouble. Assuming taht I do know how to build weapon in the Hero System. (Real weapon, charg, OAF, no knockback, require hands, etc) I'm looking for a way to make a difference between the DMRs and Sniper Rifles. I know the effective range is there so it's already in. My main problem is with shooting rate. Most Long range Rifle will have a magazine for the bullets but still be single shot. While DMR tend to be semi-auto. Hey all, So I'm going to run a hybrid of Watchmen and Sin City in a couple weeks for some friends. I'm going to post characters here. Please let me know what you think. The point value is 225 with 50 complications. I'm giving people 5 DEF armor and 2-3 weapons for equipment. So far. Please let me know any suggestions for running a good heroic game, as well. Mainly built as a foil for the Tranh Chronicles. Went a little overboard on a few things. She's supposed to be a challenge for a group of at least 4 people (Tranh and friends were built on 225 pts, don't ask me why). She tends to use normal weapons & equipment, that's why none are statted out for her. When I built it I think I was a little upset at the GM of the game at the time. He kept putting us against people he never fully statted out. I'm 225pts and my 14yo younger brother (a complete normal teen-ager) beats me up and I'm making good rolls. I found this table on another forum. Although it was intended for BURPS, I trimmed out the system specific mechanics and found that it could easily work for HERO. All you need are two six-sided dice...which you ought to have to begin with . ---
