One of my players, who almost never posts (TheQuietOne, I believe), sent me this link in an e-mail and I liked it, and I realized that while we have a Fantasy art thread.... I don't recall one for Dark Champions. So, here's a thread for posting images of places, people, or things, or whatever that you think would be neat in a Dark Champions game (or anything that relates to Dark Champions, or would be a subgenre of Dark Champions, or could be modified for Dark Champions... etc. When in doubt, share it!) Here goes: http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/28071

Hey Everyone, So now that we are fully embroiled in the Age of Technology I wondered if any of you have actually statted out a standard PDA or Home Computer in Hero System terms? I have a character in Dark Champions that carries a custom PDA created by his Technology guru follower. I am thinking that it would be constructed as a computer with a lot of trappings that have been previously done in the books. I am still playing 5e but conversion should be pretty easy since I don't think that was changed much. Here are a list of things that I think it would have at a minimum... Untraceable Telephone Communications - Mind Link with Limitations Calculato…

I have a clarification question about the Hudson City color map. On the map subways are indicated by wider gray lines, elevated rail by RR tracks and stations by gray boxes. But on several points the elevated rails become something else indicated by two parallel lines. Does this indicate the line runs at street level? I attached a pic pointing out the item in question. Thanks in advance.

Did anybody else catch this last night? I watched it last night and it was a pretty fun little show. Pretty campy, but that seems to be what they were going for. Might make a good DC:The Animated Series campaign. From the website: Mike Fukanaga thought dealing with his jokester best friend, Owen Reynolds and trying to win the heart of his long time crush Amanda Mckay would be the biggest challenges in high school. But it's got George Takei as the hologram of his dead grandfather who is teaching them their supah ninja mad skillz. He does a pretty good job with the sensei bit in this one.

I saw the Green Hornet this weekend. I found it hilariously awesome and laughed all the way thru, which probably says something about me as a human being. Nonetheless, underneath the comedy is an action packed vigilante movie with lots of gadgets. When things ratchet up to lethal, it even gets a little hard-boiled. Should make good inspiration for at least some dark champions games....

I'm pretty sure it's some form of MIND CONTROL or TELEPATHY, based on CON,no range, etc. My problem is at what level, how many d6's? HERO isn't great for absolutes but I've never heard of anyone resisting the effect of truth serum.

Some cities are known for their prevalence, or fictional prevalence, towards crime. They often see use for Dark Champions material. But there are some places...(particularly small Midwestern United States towns in general)...that are just poor picks for various thematic reasons. What examples come to mind?

I am wondering about anyone or any reference for the murky conspiracy theories. I have recently seen the Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory and wonder if Dark Champions or any players have come up with some wonderful ideas on how to create a world with these theories being active. They could create wonderful adventures beyond the common crime stories. I would love to hear on any resources, adventure ideas or success game ideas that have gone this route. It can be Dark Champions or Champions in nature as a lot of theories could easily be 4 colour versus the gritty nature of DC. This might also be a good idea for a resource book for the system with the dark organizatio…

I'm starting a new campaign which is sort of a pulp superhero urban fantasy thing. Usually when I post a new thread concerning a campaign I'm running, it's because I have a specific question. This one is a little different. In addition to my regular crew, a couple of people from out of town want to participate via Skype; so it will be a larger group than I'm used to. Between running for possibly eight players and some of them being so enthused about it based on very little information, I'm a bit nervous about providing them with something that lives up to expectations. The premise is that the world was your typical hidden magic setting with monsters and sorcerors all…

Some of you recall the martial art Paek-Tu, from Aaron Allston's Strike Force supplement. Practitioners know the following factual material- Paek-Tu Mountain (Paek-Tu San) is a disputed site between Korea and China. Chinese call it Cho Haku Zan. Koreans consider this mountain holy. Paek-Tu is 2,744 meters tall, almost as tall as Japan's Mount Fuji. It is topped by a caldera lake, "Heaven's Pond." There is a Chinese rumor of a dinosaur in the lake, like "Nessie," the Loch Ness monster. Dulzuck is the fruit which is reaped mainly from Paek Tu Mt. region. The scientific name is VACCINIUM ULIGINOSUM LINNAEUS and this breed grows spontaneously in the hill…

Today is winter soltice, shortest day of the year, paired with a lunar eclipse, which has not coincided for ~450 years. Sounds like a good horror story / game premise. Cheers, Will "Suffice"

Secret Wars Act 1: Fire behind the Facades “The path to heaven crosses the devil's territory, and error is the prodrome of truth.” -Orestes A. Brownson We didn’t start the fire It was always burning, since the world’s been turning We didn’t start the fire No we didn’t light it But we tried to fight it -“We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel The city shimmers under the night sky, as if its light promised to make up for the stars hidden by the city’s nighttime radiance.
