Borrowing obviousy from the creepy hotel thread and much of the text of the original post ... imagine a tropical island (well, a small island group actually) stocked with weird characters. They should be strange in a Twin Peaks/X-Files kind of way with a tropical oddball twist- they can be possibly vaguely slightly mystical (but it should never be obviously magic), or they could be vaguely slightly high-tech (in a conspiracy sort of easily-mistaken-for-something-else way), international expat/ex-military/ex-mercenary, or whatever you like. Try to capture the character in a few sentences. As a little background and flavor for the group: Living isn't too ro…

Working on a new subsite for my website, detailing a setting im calling "MetaCyber", based on a campaign I ran a few years ago. Ive got a lot of paper material to parse and write up, and some gaps to fill in. So, no real content yet, but I got the framework for the site and some general fluff material up over the last couple of days: http://www.killershrike.com/metacyber/MetaCyber.shtml

I apologise if I'm being presumptuous, but since many visitors to these forums bypass the website home page I feared interested folks might overlook this announcement. The new prices are now in effect in the Hero Games online store.

The newest Hero Plus Adventure The Crossroads Blues is available here. 10 pages PDF: 2.99 DOJHERO-PHA27 The Crossroads Blues is a voodoo-themed Champions adventure for four to six 400-point characters. It takes place in the mystically-plagued city of Vibora Bay in the Champions Universe setting, though with a few minor changes it could take place in any city the GM chooses. Written by yours truly, actually. -Jason Walters

Looking for a perspective on a terminator ala Arnold for an adversary. One of our group is very T2-ish and I'm hoping to tie into the genre with some T1 enemies. I suppose I could stat my own up and "show you mine" first, but I'm new to the villain creating biz. Any input would be great.

So I was thinking about a different kind of campain. It would start off with the Pc's as criminals. I know not so different, but hear me out. First the adventers the pc's would have would be based on a Villany chart. So of course you need the chart. Sitting down for the first pass I made this, not complete but you get the idea.. 1. Cannon fodder- You get told nothing. You get to be the lookout, or move the boxes of things you can't ask about. In the event of trouble you get to face it first. If you don't die, get pinched or squeal eventually you'll move up 2. (No name)- O.k. your a solid guy. You are now invited to hang with the gang. Here's whats in those boxes…

A modern day campaign based on Larry Correia's "Monster Hunter International" universe. Monster Hunter International is the premier monster eradication company in the business. The Coastal Rangers are one of the many teams employed by M.H.I. and the first Canadian detachment. The Coastal Rangers’ official cover story is that they are a privately owned and operated Search and Rescue (SAR) Team. They use the Myra Falls Compound on Vancouver Island as their base of operations and training centre.

Tell me what i need to purchase to find a viper agent or thug with a dex more in line with REAL tactical personnel that are competent with a rifle but not Olympic level dex? What supplements for 6th should I be looking for? What can I purchase? I am one of those dam players,Gm's that doesn't want 20 dex, 20 str ... tougher then normal toughs? Am I out of line thinking that this NEW FANTASTICALLY AWESOME move away from Dex being the UBER stat, that we will see better villains and hero's.? WERE ARE THEY? Really it is not that bad but I am hoping that we can see more lower dex villians. Even just to spark up convo or to find other threads …

I am doing a d20 Modern to Hero conversion. The character I'm struggling with is a Smart hero who has the "plan" ability. We house ruled it in our D20 Modern campaign to work like this: This ability (at least the way we ruled it in our game) essentially allows the character to spend a round "planning" and then makes a roll. He then describes a basic plan, giving each person a role/task. If he is successful whith his check, he gets to can give a handful of people bonuses (+1 to hit or skill each round for several rounds). How would you begin to model something like this in Hero?

Just saw the movie, had great action scenes (excellent examples of fast draw for example). A good action movie that will give you ideas for DC games. Warning it is rated R and I would not recommend it for children; it was very violent and much bad language.

It seems odd to post her in Dark Champions, since the only thing dark about Precious Ramotswe is her skin. Still, she is a heroic level character existing in the modern age so I guess this is where she goes. In the months and years following the collapse of Germany after it's surrender in WWII a grand easter egg hunt began. The victorious allies proceeded to pick through Germany looking for german scientists and scientific achievements. German Super Science was hampered only by bad decision making at the top and constant day and night bombing raids. Much of their achievements remained on paper or lab benches. Some of those secrets would determine the fate of nations in the following decades. This campaign follows the path of military investigators tasked with finding these valuable assets and alluding the allies. Some of the secrets left behind are dark and perhaps shoul…

Stands a chance of allowing us a Dark Champions entry for Sherlock Holmes in the modern era. The official link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00t4pgh The wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherlock_(TV_series) Well-written, good casting, excellent acting, and fantastic (if sometimes a bit too clever) direction. Critically acclaimed and a hit in the U.K. -- one that has boosted sales of the stories, has kicked off an interest in the fashion of both leads, and has already garnered a guaranteed second season. Yes, second season. The 1st season was only three episodes. Three 90 minute episodes (that's a movie length, isn't it?). It's like a tril…

Hello all, nice to meet you! I belong to a gaming group on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. We use several different systems, but mostly 4e DnD. Recently, we've started using 5e Heroes as well. I've recently started a campaign using 5e, and at the behest of one of my players, I put together a campaign resource, with all the necessary information and background. I also started doing a campaign write-up, for review's sake. The campaign site, including plot and background into can be found at http://jeffersonhigh.wikidot.com/ The campaign uses a mutant framework from 5e heroes. It's set at a high school in a small city in Nevada. There is an overarching p…

One of my favorite series from the 70s. I recently came across this webpage. My favorite part is the page that lists out the answering machine messages that each episode had in the opening credits. Has anyone ever written up Jim Rockford for Hero?

<> Been looking thru my various files and links for websites (ie: Surbrooks Stuff, GNBORH, etc) and I can't seem to find any versions for the crew of Section 9 from "Ghost In The Shell" (and related stories). Anyone have any lead/links for them ? I'm specifically seeking versions built with 5thEd(revised) but anything would be great. I could have sworn that there was once a version of Maj Kusanagi posted somewhere but...... Thanks. -Carl-
