So, has anyone tried to do a Farscape HERO? I have the d20 version, but I was wondering if anyone has tried to do a HERO version. It is another one that I woud like to try, but probably will never have time.

Just curious if any of you Star Trek fans know how fast a Warp is, and if it's a linear exelleration (Warp 2 is twice as fast as Warp 1). Mightybec

Has anyone seen a write-up for Powered Armor and/or Mecha for Hero5? I'm new to the game as well as this board. If so could you point me in the direction? I know the book gives a brief example of Powered Armor, but it's just way to simple for what I'm looking for. If no one can reference me, does anyone have some advice? I looked at the Vehicle Construction and I'm thinking of using a slight varient of that. Basically figuring out the abilities individually and then having characters buy their PA's stat by stat. I'm kinda looking for a Bubble GUm Crisis (Fusion) type Powered Armor System. Any help or suggestions will be useful Thanks in Advance, …

Will any of the new, upcoming, Star Hero books feature any sample ship write-ups? My only let down for Star Hero was a lack of examples. I had never played in a Star Hero game before and felt ill equipped to use it at this time because of this lack of write-ups.

Getting back to an old topic from the old boards here, but now that Star HERO is out (excellent book) has anyone thought of what would be required to campaign in the universe of the British TV classic Blakes 7 ? I know it;'s a fairly bleak universe, but it could also be a lot of fun with dry humor in the mix and some very cool characters (including a master villain with the highest COM in the galaxy).... "I never doubted your fanaticism. As far as I am concerned you can destory whatever you like. You can stir up a thousand revolutions. You can WADE in BLOOD up to your armpits. OH, and you can lead the rabble to victory -- whatever that may mean. Just so there's …

Back in the day, I used to play Gamma World, Traveller, and Star Frontiers. I was also a Champions fan somewhere about 1983-86. I'd like to get back into gaming, particularly Sci-Fi, that being my favorite genre. I've never seen Star Hero, would some of you long time players offer up how Star Hero expands on Fred? Are you satisfied with it? What makes it worth buying? What do you wish were included but is not? Are there good supplements for it? If I try it, is there a campaign or setting that I might look at to get things launched? Thanks in advance.

One of the things I loved about 2300AD was its list of near stars, and coordinate information. I discovered that Andy Brick transcribed that list into a file available from his 2300AD web site. I also took note of his comments that some stars in that list were fictional, and that the data didn't mesh with real data from, say, the Gliese catalog (Gliese 2). Also, since the time GDW made that list, Gliese 3 has come out. So I've merged some of the data from those sources together as a new Near Star List (Big HTML document!)

Well I have to say Hero did it again. Terran Empire every bit as good as Star Hero. The write ups for the races were awesome (I wish they were longer but the book would have to be 800 pages) and the art is top notch. I have to say I'm really happy with the Star Hero line of books. IMO they have been better than the Champions books, and this is coming from a guy who has never used Hero System for anything but Campions except for online games.

I was wondering what people had to say about trying to run Rebellion-era Terran Empire campaigns in the age of Sigismund and the period with the Epire teetering on collapse. I always wondered why the Torgons of Xenovores didn;t sieze on the oppotunity to wipe out those pesky humans and take all their worlds while they were fighting among themselves....

Though it's not in production yet, Plustech has developed a multilegged walking forestry mech for low-impact logging operations or use on steep terrain. There's even some videos of it in action at http://www.plustech.fi/Walking1.html . Shouldn't be too hard to write it up as a vehicle. With another 19 centuries or so of development i can readily imagine a top speed that's greater than a few miles an hour. -m[arcuS]

Would it be possible from someone to post the table of contents for Terran Empire? Legally, I mean. I'm interesting the book, but I would like a rough overview of what's in it. Steve, is that possible?

Terran Empire is the simply the best "Source/World" book I've seen in I don't know when! I wasn't even considering running a StarHERO game let alone running a out of the box campaign. But I was so inspired by TE that I'm shelving my FantasyHero campaign to work on this Great Job to all who worked on TE!!! p.s. now go out and top it:D

Just to add to my previous post, I was talking to a friend the other day who was telling me about some new weapon that was being designed that could fire pennies at half the speed of light using electro magnetics (or something, I had been drinking ) I think that a weapon like this would certainly be more destructive than any wimpy 16" gun, right? However, this much power would bring as many problems as it did advantages. That penny would punch though almost any substance on earth, and just keep going. The potential for accidental casualties and damage would be incredible. So a weapon like this would have limited applications, and couldn't be used in almost any w…

Has anyone tried converting the Tri-Tac materialover to Star Hero/Hero? Fringeworthy-Traveling through other dimensions via an interdimenisonal highway with circular portals. (Don't mention Stargate to Richard Tuckola) FTL:2448 a standard ships in space campaign, but highly detailed. Incursion-Human abductees capture the ship Ardanna Nu and try to figure out a way to get back to Earth. The ship was built by an alien race so long ago, that no one knows how it was built. I didn't mention the last world, since that goes to Horror(Stalking the Night Fantastic:Bureau 13) and not Sci-Fi

Say I wanted to run a time-travel oriented Star Hero game, with the world of the Terran Empire as the "present". I need additional t-travel material for my campaign. Name ONE already published resource that I would find very useful for my game. It's OK if it's OOP, I'll just jump into my time machine...

In trying to simulate what I've read and seen in Star Wars, it seems appropriate that Jedi would have Mental Defense to keep Dark Jedi from using Mind Control and Mental Illusions on them. However, it seems that Jedi are all open books when it comes to Telepathy, or at least the use of sensing emotions with it. I was wondering if anyone agrees with this observation or not. Also, if my observation is so, should it be simulated with a limitation on MD such as "Only half verses Telepathy" or some such? Thanx.

The shields in Star Trek don't act like DEF. Usually it goes something like this: And so on. No damage seems to get through until the shields are scrubbed away. Therefore.... Give the ship something like 10 DEF; it seems pretty tough on its own, but not overly so. The shields become: +100 BODY, Not vs. Destruction (-1/2), Not Protected By Base Vehicle DEF (-1/2), Requires Functioning Vehicle Power Supply (-1/4), OIF Vehicular (-1), Not vs. Successful Find Weakness Roll (-1/2). Active Cost: 100 points, Real Cost: 27 points 10 PD 10 ED Force Field, 0 END Persistent (+1), OIF Vehicular (-1), Requires Functioning Vehicle Power Supply (-1…

Robert Frey used the system in Star Hero to create this really cool software. http://www.herogames.com/FreeStuff/Other%20Software/index.htm

Star Hero says an object making a controlled re-entry takes 5 BODY per segment from atmospheric friction. What about an uncontrolled re-entry? The damage must be higher, otherwise meteors would plunge to Earth without a scratch. Plus the old "We have to get the ship under control before we burn up in the atmosphere!!"

Are there any plans to create race sourcebooks or one big alien sourcebook for Terran Empire (and probably also useful for the Galactic Federation setting)? I couldn't find anything in the release schedule so I am not optimistic.
