Has anybody though about trying to make up Kirika and Mireille from the anime Noir? If you have I'd love to see it. If not then I may undertake this task as soon as I have had a chance to buy the rest of the DVDs in the series.

So, I was explaining to my friend how HERO can be used to create any character, any genre. (He's only played AD&D 2nd Ed.) I make the comment that there is no literary figure that can't be recreated in HERO. His response? "Hey, can we play Les Mis HERO?" -cK

On a parallel board, Crimson Arrow wrote : To which I must reply: Pike was not only Wilson's DNPC (and I'd guess an 'incompetent' one too, certainly if his CO's frequent assessment of both his intelligence and his youth was accurate) but probably also some sort of dark secret. While it was never made explicit in the canon (save for those with eyes to see) LeMesurier asked Jimmy Perry on the last day of filming if Wilson was Pike's father. "Of course he bloody is." came the response. Thriving hotbed of permissiveness, Warmington.

Sorry, this is a slightly jokey topic, based on something "V" and I have been mentioning on another thred. How would you build the "Dad's Army" characters? Most would have the "Age" disadvantage. I was thinking Mainwaring with a fairly high PRE, but only for defence (he nevers seems phased by anyone from the Vicar through to Nazi submarine Captains), plus Fringe Benefit: Captain of the Home Guard. Hunted: Warden Hodges 11-, plus possibly the Verger on 8-. Maybe even Mrs. Mainwaring? Sgt. Wilson obviously has a high PRE, plus High Society and perhaps Seduction ("Uncle Arthur...). Psych Lim. "Compelled to Act Slightly Superior". Corporal Jones s…

I don't know how or why this popped in my head, but has anyone ever played a cartoon series with the Hero system? For some strange reason a vision of playing Dudley Do Right versus Snidely Whiplash came popping into my head. Then I started thinking about the Looney Tunes characters and some of the other MGM and WB characters. I for one would love to play those two mice that terrorize Claude the cat. Obviously using Hero for anime or other action oriented cartoons like GI Joe would be a good fit. But I was wondering if Hero would be overkill for something like Looney Tunes characters? How about Disney shows like Tailspin or The Rescue Rangers?

Here were a few i was thinking of running. May get to a few of them, may not. but all woudl work well for lower level HERO games, which i prefer to supers. #1- Invisible Man: Based in the Sci-Fi series. One character becomes invisible, the others may have just typical agent powers... or even a unique power of their own. 100 to 125 points woudl be best as it woudl give them an edge on agents and thugs, but still be a skill based affair. Limit each unique power to abotu a 25 active point total, and each woudl require a restriction fo some sort. You can expand the idea that each of the ones with abilities are ex-convicts given their freedom to be part of the …

Anyone know a good source with some modern military package deals? I'm about to start a short campaign where the PCs all start out as soldiers, and I'd like to have something to give some shape to their character generation.

I am interested in converting Vampire Dark Ages to Hero system rules. I would love to hear from you all and any assistance will certainly be put to good use. I love the game, just hate the system. Have there been previous posts on this matter? Thank you, Stallion:cool:

In the show Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoiyo!! Marusan the main character uses a fighting style called the Sexy Commando, which I want to bring into Hero System. The style is based on the fact that it is very difficult to attack an opponent with his guard up, so an unguarded moment is created by doing something unbelievably, shockingly, almost frighteningly stupid. For example, dropping his pants in the middle of a fight and charging like a baby chick. That sounds pretty bizarre already, but it's about a hundred times more intense than the way I've described it. If you use bittorrent, you can check the show out on animesuki.com and see what I mean. I was thinking an eno…

Is the Millennium truly over? are we ever going to see this Technothriller again? or is it hidden deep with the mighty tomb's that praise the lord of Champion's, Steve Long? I know that some of the Millenniums enders have not seen eye to eye, but I am a hybrid. I own both Millenniums End and Champions, therefore I am of both camp's and of none. I know Millenniums End is not a PC(polictically Correct) game since that day long ago, and the books drawn on the technothriller aspec of these times, it is a book based of today, it has alot of uncertainy that goes with it, it's a book that contains war, terrorism, pain, untrust. But what RPG doesn't, the game is…

I was wondering if anyone ever did a GI Joe campaign, or anything like that. I know a group of people have a campaign using d20 modern, but why play d20 when you can play HERO, right? I actually created a terrorist organization like COBRA. Except I called it BOA. Originally it stood for "Bastion of Anarchy," but I thought "Bastion of Autocracy" made more sense. It had a very unusaul method of recruiting troops. People would kidnap the homeless, brainwash them into believing society was to blame for all their woes, then turn them into shock troops. One of my players thought BOA should stand for "Bums Of America" instead. Suggestions?

WARNING: Contains Spoilers!!! For those who haven't seen (or heard of) the French film Brotherhood of the Wolf, all I can say is "find it!" I will admit it its of a genre that one doesn't often see in cinema, the scarcely exploited "period costume drama/action-adventure/kung fu/conspiracy/occult/supernatural/werewolf" genre, but if you're looking for equal parts of suspense, action, and martial arts, "Brotherhood" is a pretty good choice. Just keep in mind this is a fantasy film and such questions as "why does the 18th century American Indian known kung fu" won't really be a problem. Thus, I present Sir Gregorie de Fronsac and his "valet" Mani, the heroes of Bro…

Your idea could work. However, don't forget that the hero may have a few tricks up his sleeve. Maybe friends who are superheroes or Watchers. They could take out the bad guys (subdue, not kill) without a Quickening. Also the police are not going to stand idly by. They will try to send a SWAT team if they can. Another thing you may want to consider is will the public believe the villain? Most people would probably think he's just nuts. Of course, if the hero blindly charges in to the rescue without thinking, that will all change. He will be charged with murder, and other immortals will be mad at him for exposing the game. It's one thing to make an outrageous claim. It…

Steve, I asked about this at rpg.net also, but I was wondering if you could be so kind to write a Genre book for creating a good Post Apocalyptic world also. I think there is a large enough of a market for a book like this, aimed specifically at fans like me that love games like this. I know that Darwins World has been out, and Gamma World is coming out, but those are for d20 and I would like to see a official HERO genre book for this setting. You should put some other books on the back burner, like Ultimate Brick...who needs a full sourcebook on playing a Brick...or Ultimate Energy Blaster...If UNTIL superpowers database doesn't quench the thirst enough than I d…

After watching the first JoJo's Bizzar Adventure DVD, I finaly figured out something. That Star Platimum is not a Duplicate, or a Summon at all. He is the combo of Extra Limbs (Full Body, Two Arms, Two LEgs, One Head, One Torso, One Trunk) and a low level Streching. What do you think?
