I am trying to see if it is possible to simulate the armor and weapon degradation in Fallout for my PA game without it becoming too much of a hassle for my players. We are looking at the ablative limitation for armor. Not to bad. But how about for weapons? Both Melee and Firearms and energy weapons. Is there a mechanic I am not aware of in the game already for handling this? (Please keep in mind I am reletively new to the more escoteric parts of the game and if this is a silly simple question I appologize up front)

So, I thought I'd tackle the most difficult character type from the old World of Darkness -- Wraiths. I've had to make some hard design choices here, and I'm not quite sure it's done, but I'll sit on it for another year if I don't just drop it here. Comments welcome, but be sure to read the pdf file for some design notes. I've also attached the Campaign Rules file for creating Wraith characters, as there doesn't seem to be a place to upload them in the Downloads section. Package deal is posted here. The Shadow base character sheet is posted here. Template file for creating Wraiths is posted here. World Of Darkness - Wraith.pdf Wraith6E.hdr

I worked up some of the old World of Darkness stuff that I owned into Hero terms. My plan was to allow players of my High Fantasy Hero game the opportunity to play those "races" if they wanted to; plus I knew it would be an excellent opportunity to cut my teeth on 6E Hero, which is different enough I felt the need to practice. After converting vampires to my satisfaction, I turned to werewolves. They're extremely interesting from a mechanical standpoint. The obvious power for them is Multiform, but after playing with the numbers for a while, it occurred to me that they're really only changing Characteristics around in the different forms. I tried it as a Multipower, a…

My plan was to allow players of my High Fantasy Hero game the opportunity to play those "races" if they wanted to; plus I knew it would be an excellent opportunity to cut my teeth on 6E Hero, which is different enough I felt the need to practice. I started with vampires, as they're pretty straightforward in the World of Darkness. I never got around to working up all the various Vampiric Disciplines, but you could make those easily enough. It clocks in at 211 points, which is pretty reasonable for a vampire, I think -- the one in the Bestiary is just a crazy number of points. I've upl…

I statted up the Camera Obscura from the Fatal Frame series in both nWoD and M&M system terms (the latter can be found here), but I think HERO would make a good fit for it. The question is how do I build the device, and in particular because it seems to me like it should have an attack function, the sensory abilities, but also a Multipower to represent the different lenses. Here is what the Camera Obscura can do: • Looking through the viewfinder allows the user to see ghosts and also see through ghostly illusions. • The Camera sports a special filament that glows blue in the presence of benign ghosts or illusions, and red in the presence of hostile ghosts. …

What it says on the tin. What kinds of things would you like to see addressed? Specifically: What kind of rules? (Hero System vehicle rules, updated and rewritten Robot Warriors rules, new rules) What kinds of campaigns? (Realistic military, superpowered Champions-style robot heroes, others) What scope would you like to see it cover? (Full genre book, mini-genre a la Post-Apocalyptic Hero, all-in-one a la Lucha Hero) Something I haven't mentioned.

Our group is starting up a new (classic) Deadlands campaign. There was one before, but that got going while I was off in the wilds of Eastern Washington late last century. Consequently, most everyone else in the group has played the system and setting, but I haven't. If you haven't seen it, it's set in the US in the 1870s, and it posits that supernatural effects broke out during the US Civil War, and so there's elements of magic, supernatural horror, mad science, and so on. California got shattered by a cataclysm into an archipelago of broken islands and dangerous channels with lots and lots of pulp western-ish horror-type strangeness, and so on. Being a mad scien…

I am working on making the mecha and such from Robotech: Invid Invasion(or New Generation if you prefer) for HERO. I am trying to get something concrete to start. All I have is: Invid Mecha will be built like characters(since they never leave their mecha) with armor by location to make them easier to kill by shooting the eye. A rough chart based on informaton from the Robotech Reference Guide(http://www.artemisgames.com/robotech/). If anyone has done something like this, or has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. John

Has anyone ever run a Horror Hero game without any supernatural element? I ran a one-shot naturalistic horror scenario, and it worked very well. One player even said it was the most truly horrifying horror game he'd ever played. But perhaps there's the rub. Naturalistic horror is just too scary. Supernatural stories play to our sense of "of course this could never really happen." Thoughts?

Alright... I managed to get near a project, and since it involves a convention that means I may get sucked into said project. I need any and all source material you consider "Steampunk" -Books -Comics -Movies (including Anime) -Music (no, really, whatever you listen to to get 'into the Steampunk mood') -RPGs -Television -Video Games -Any other medium I forgot I have a really long list already (actually, I have a really long literary list since that's usually my main focus and a moderate Other Media list), and I have a slightly narrowed definition of what I consider Steampunk and the purpose here is to get the whole range on the topic (as some …

My wife has finally decided she is interested in gaming, and is making a campaign world. She wants to have a good figure for each of the characters (we are playing Pathfinder) and we have found some pretty good ones at Reaper's website. Any other suggestions? Somebody posted some info a couple years ago on sources for Green wax basic figures for customization. She is interested in Sculpture anyway, and this might be an interesting thing to experiment with long term. Any good sources?

In my spare time I have been working up a reasonable sounding mythos for common werewolf. I haven't gotten around to building an NPC werewolf yet and don't really know when I will. Below is what I have come up with so far. Anyone can feel free to steal it, criticize it, or make suggestions. This was not typed up with the idea of it being excellent prose, it is notes that I made before undertaking the design of a werewolf NPC. -------------------------------------------- Werewolf, Common Lycanthrope Damage done by silvered weapons (e.g. those with silver plating) may slow the regeneration but they will not halt it. Weapons must be primarily silver to prevent…

Quite a few people said they were keen on seeing how this turned out, so I started a thread to dump everything related to HEROFIST into. What is HEROFIST? It's an adaptation of Shadowfist/Feng Shui for the HERO rules set. Here's some random stuff I have written up. Critique anything that irks you, praise anything you love, and post anything you think I gotta write up. --- Skills: Everyman Skills: Everyone gets Language: English and Language: Cantonese. I have been working on this for a couple of years now; I have about 100 write ups in variuous phases of completion, some you might have seen at Surbrook's Stuff site. I have a very rough world overview. Let me show you . Chad’s Street Fighter Universe Campaign Specifics. Campaign Basics: This is a Wild Martial Arts campaign of epic proportions. Based on the rather comic book like world of Fighting Games, notably Street Fighter and King of Fighters. Campaign is a few funky skintight costumes from a Superhero Genre, the characters will have fabulous Martial Arts powers and everything from Supernatural Monsters to Cyborgs and Robots will speckle the horizon. The cha…

I'm thinking of introducing my girlfriends 12 year old son to the wonders of the Hero Game System. He is a big fan of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, which I think is just prime for Heros (Gyro Hero anyone?) Anyone have any advice for campaign limits or other bits of wisdom? And you have not read this series, I strongly recommend it. Very enjoyable, even for an ol' curmugdeon like me.

Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to help me out? I'm just an old pen and paper gamer with very little computer experience. I'm from the bay area and started playing Champions at conventions when it first came out but Champions has NEVER been very user friendly. Its seems like it is a game by computer geeks for other computer geeks but I'm just a humble English major who loves comics. Still a major geek but technology has always been my enemy. Well then a friend showed me Champions Online and I KNEW I had to play it! I have never played a computer game of any kind before (except for a few hour of Call of Cthulhu: Ends of the Earth) and I had to save …
