I was thinking of starting to make material for a future post apocalyptic setting for Hero games. It will combine magic, high tech, aliens, mutants, psionics, and mecha fighting. In the future interdimensional portals open causing other dimensions to "drift" into this one. We can call it "Drifts: The Pan-Dimensional Role Playing Suppliment" Anyone want to make race and occupation packages up? We'll need a "Boom Boy Pilot", a "Dog Soldier", a "Brain Melter", a "Psi Knight". Any other ideas?

I'm planning on running a zombie survival based game but there are two points that I am bit concerned with. First, the classic zombie head shot vulnerability seems like it would be more of advantage in Hero System than in the source material. It's a -8 to hit the head and even with a basement DCV (which I would imagine most zombies have as they have almost no self preservation instincts) it seems like it would be much more difficult for the "normal" (typical civilians which wouldn't have a high level of combat training) level characters I have in mind to effectively fight them. I want it to be a struggle (otherwise, its no challenge and the monsters aren't very scary…

Hi all, I've a lore-related question: how are Takofanes's zombies created please? Is it: A.) raising a corpse from the dead or B.) like in modern films via an infectious zombie bite? The context is I'm curious in relation to the Blood Moon event. Thanks in advance.

For those who think of MMO RP as very different than tabletop, I thought I'd post a transcript of one of our sessions. Warning: long and the narrative may be hard to follow at times. COJ Issue 16: Boreal Summer Cast of Characters Our Heroes Thundrax: (Craig) Strongman with a few superpowers, veteran Canadian superhero. Canadian Fist: Young but powerful magic manipulating heroine. Divael: (Nat). Quebec-born superheroine who mixes magic (mostly healing and restraint) and gadgets. Lightbrand: Light-wielding mutant and light manipulator. Raichi: Samurai, new to the hero community. Razira: Mutant wolf-woman with tremendous electrical powers. Ryder …

Tonight's run is scheduled to be Necrull and the Burial caves (Canada, L29+), 7 PM Server/Pacific, 10 EST. I'm feeling under the weather, so I may not make it. We'll see how I feel at gametime. Beyond this, I know Archie wants to do Therakiel's Temple. I'd like to do another NemCon at some point and maybe a Nemesis Mission night where we collect missions like Bunker Buster, All That Glitters, and Violent Majority and run them as a group.

Just saw a preview for an upcoming Post Apocalyptic TV series entitled Revolution (with the last "o" being a power switch logo). Basically all electricity stops working (not explained in the preview), plunging the world into chaos. Fifteen years after the big oops, one of the protagonists goes in search of her uncle. Said uncle happens to be a bad-ass swordsman (at least from what the previews show). The uncle may have some key to turning back on the lights. Not much story from there. The female protagonist is very obviously a rip-off from the Hunger Games lead. Instead of a normal bow, she uses a crossbow, but even the appearance is similar. I appreciate finding a m…

So I'm wondering. Are the changes made by PWE to the Champions Online causing frustration to the point where people from here who played are leaving or curtailing their time in the game? I'm still playing, but I notice that a lot of old regulars don't seem to be around anymore. I also noticed that Lord Liaden stopped posting in the lore thread months ago. Anybody know what's up with that? Is he ok? I know that I'm not really happy with the way that PW is handling the region blocking and the "genericcing" of the forums in both STO and CO. The alert systems can be fun. But they're also very repetitive and grindy after a while and not very friendly to the lo…

Hello Herophiles, I was working on fleshing out a character who is supposed to be a Tae Kwon Do master. Now according to Ultimate Martial Artist 5th, TKD doesn't have any special abilities listed. So here is a list of a few abilities I thought would be appropriate for a TKD master. Please note that this are listed for a more 'realisitic' side of gaming. Flying Technique: +6" leaping, accurate, only for calculating half moves in combat, always direct Act 11 pts Real 5 END 1 This allows a master to leap across a room and attack with any of his manuevers. Feints: HA +2D6, IPE (source only), HA lim, side effects (-1 OCV if PER roll is made) ACT 15 p…

Hello Everyone, I'm looking for a little advice. We are in the middle of a long running Urban Fantasy game that, and stuff has just hit the fan. We the characters being a group of experienced supernatural hunters have just been drafted. That seems to be the crux of the problem. The ST has asked myself to look into possible packages that we will be givien after a brief time period of training. To keep things simple we have two choices a Primary MOS, and a secondary MOS both of those MOS's have to come from the same list: Special Forces Branch • 18B Special Forces Weapons Sergeant • 18C Special Forces Engineer Sergeant • 18D Special Forces Med…

Has anyone done any Rifts conversions to the HERO system? I love the background (though I admit it is cheesy), but damn if I don't pretty much hate the rules. Most of all, I hate the fact that it takes me about the same amount of time to create a Palladium character as it does a HERO character, but all of the Palladium characters of a particular class seem to be exactly the same. Anyway, thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Hello there RP Lovers, I've got a question. I know most of Role-Play must come from the mind. Using ones imagination and fantasies to get things going. Playing Medi-evil tavern music in the background does help this along the way. Of course its easier when ur doing a Fantasy Setting where the heroes are all great and powerful. I've always been VERY fond of Zombies... Aaaah the joy of seeing someone ripped to shreds by the hungry, smelly and often "i so did not notice them coming" undead. This joy however loses its touch when RP'd. Does anyone have any ideas, tactics and or things a GM / Players can do to create the Zombie Apocalypse Mood?! …

Can anyone let me know if the 4th Ed. Cyber hero is worth getting? I can't find any reviews of it and can't peruse a copy to see if I would like it. Basically how are the builds for cybers and any other comments you can let me know about the book would be appreciated. Is the book worth getting for $10?

Just curious, I've seen them mentioned on this board a bit, and some part of the Post Apocalypse Hero book seem to be very Thundarr inspired, but has anyone written up the character sheets up for Thundarr, Ookla and Ariel?

When I was digging through my library the other day I found a notebook with a terrible picture I scteched as the cover. The title was "SuperPunk." As I am wont to do, I got distracted from my task at hand and reviewed what I had written for -- wait for it --3rd Edition Hero. Back in the beautiful by-gone days before Steampunk, Dieselpunk, Dungeonpunk and all the Punkpunk, there was cyberpunk. Somewhere in there Robert Charette penned Shadowrun, which fused the genres of cyberpunk and fantasy. So, what about Superpunk? I took Cyber Hero and Dark Champions and took away the costumes and made "metahumans" just another avenue to getting the edge on the mean streets of t…
