Waaaay back in 1983, Steve Jackson Games and Hero Games joined forces to produce Autoduel Champions, a supplement for Car Wars and Champions. Recently, someone on the boards mentioned running a scenario akin to the old Car Wars adventure Sunday Drivers, which made me think of (and recommend) Autoduel Champions. Digging out my copy, I decided to try updating the Hero System characters to 6E. Considering when Autoduel Champions was written, converting from what looks to be 2E Hero characters to 6E results in some pretty crude designs. Which isn't to say they're poorly written (Aaron Allston did the work after all), it's just they are lacking in many things I've come t…

So ... having an idea for a game that could probably be described as inspired by the old TMNT system (and, of course, you couldn't pay me to actually run Palladium). In the game-world I'm thinking of, there are 'mutants' (or Moreaus if you have literary chops), which are animals raised to sapience and bipedalism, and 'splicers', which are humans who have gained animal features. The latter is illegal, the former is considered a military technology. So, mutants are generally government agents, frequently 'super-soldiers'. With the bioengineering being a new technology, the legal system hasn't caught up with it in many ways. Specifically, mutants are not considered …

I just played the demo for this game and the tone and atmosphere is fantastic. Totally inspired a desire to play a game like it. Since room just opened up on my schedule, I'd like to maybe take on something like this on RPOL or maybe try out that HERO central. It'd be post-apocalyptic survival horror/adventure set after "the Event" (whatever that is; doesn't even have to ever be explained) that ruins the world. Seems like it'd be really fun. A little more on the setup: this is much more a survival horror/survival adventure kind of thing. It's dangerous, you sometimes have to fight and kill to survive (with possible supernatural elements?), there are mysterie…

Here's the deal: I found cheap time cards on Amazon and ordered a couple. So, for at least the next four months, I'll be going Gold. Longer, if the cards stay cheap. Now, unlike, say DDO, the Archetypes aren't horrible, but they're somewhat limited by design. So, I'll be looking at converting my ATs to Freeform. I don't have much play time on most of them, with my highest being my level 29 Inventor, Ingenuity Girl. So, starting with her, then the others as I get some more play time on them, I'd like to post my builds here so folks with more experience can take a look and point out the error of my ways. I'd do it on the CO forums, but I've already read those, and the…

Apparently while I was off doing things in Skyrim the Dev's over at CO decided to sneak in a new free Archetype, the Unleashed. The Unleashed is a duel blade wielding marital artist with force powers. Now I know the community has been asking for a while for new Silver Archetypes but this update on the heels of The Old Republic is just fun. Here's a link to the new Archetype. So, blatant rip off, tongue in cheek homage or just showing off how diverse Champions Online cane be? Discuss...

Then the great curtain of black smoke split asunder, rent by blades of golden light It parted around her as she descended upon wings of luminous white In her hand, the Sun In her eyes, the Light In her heart, the Fire In her spirit, the Purity Before her blackened the twisted host, scattered by her wrath The besieged armies of humanity rallied to her banner and strove once more against their enemy Her arrival was as the coming of the Storm, and her passing like dawn blooming warm and vital in Spring More piercing than any weapon she could wield was the gift she brought the weary, the frightened, the desperate Upon wings of light she brought Hope P…

This may be a silly question. I saw some game time cards on Amazon, 60 days for ten bucks. I was wondering if these things have to be used within a certain time frame? I'd like to pick up a few while they're cheap, but use them later. Bascially, after I get close to 40 on my five current slots, to unlock more slots. Which could be a long time at the rate I'm going.

Reprinted from a friend from CORP. Super stat changes: You have 1 primary super stat and 2 secondary ones. The primary super stat gives +80, the secondaries give +40 at level 40. You get half the bonus from secondaries then you do from the primary (Some exceptions exist). Super stats do not just modify damage strength, they very depending on role. See roles below for more information. Your primary super stat determines your first spec tree, see spec trees below for more information on them. Attribute Changes: Strength now gives additional melee damage beyond 70, this is on a scale of diminishing returns. I find chars into their 200's at roughly +30% da…

Making my own genre, figured this would make for an interesting setting, a place where heroes, villains and even civilians are pretty much all just as powerful as one another and all in the same dilemma. I plan to make a form of campaign from this setting but trying to think of horrifying creatures that would have the feel of a superhero comic but also the feel of a horror story like Silent Hill. I want it to be a mixture of different aspects but trying not to overwhelm it all with zombies. Any suggestions? -Ashton Falcon

With the popularity of the Hunger Games, and reality show competitions like Survivor, Amazing Race, etc. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried a game based on a competition. Did it work for you? Are you supposed to kill each other? and other info would be nice. If not, would you play in a game where you are supposed to kill each other? (Like the Hunger Games)

Left 4 Dead Hero 1 2

LEFT 4 DEAD HERO Left 4 Dead is a co-operative first person shooter that pits upwards of 4 human-controlled players versus legions of not quite undead “zombies.” It was released by Valve Software in November of 2008, and was followed by a sequel, Left 4 Dead 2, a year later. The basic premise behind Left 4 Dead is that the eastern United States (and, perhaps parts of Canada) has been overrun with the “Infected.” These are humans who have contracted a highly contagious rabies-like pathogen, which renders its victims highly violent while simultaneously destroying or inhibiting certain higher brain functions. The result is a “zombie” apocalypse in which all …

I am doing a zombie campain now and I need some suggestions for some quick and easy rules for determing how much ammo the characters spends when killing zombies en masse from a safe position. Taking into consideration shooters fatiuge, they skill level and their ocv. Rules both for expert snipers and regular folks and everyone in between. I am thinking figuring out the roll they need to hit them in the head, counting up the zombies they need to shoot, figuring out the numbers of rolls they need to hit and do a die roll to find out how lucky they are today. So I know how many zombies they killed and how much ammo they used doing it. Basically I dont want to have…

I have always thought that the best way to do horror is when the players dont expect it. My idea for this campaign is to start the players in a 1970s espionage campaign, and then transition it to a horror game on the fly. I am testing out scripting scenes to help my prep, so what I am going to do here is post all my scripted scenes so you guys can see my plan. What I would like to hear from you is where you think the strong and weak points are, and any suggestions you have to make it better. These scripts are very general, but I would still appreciate having some details if you have good ideas. I still havent named the sinister cult, so it is just a placeholder for now. …
