I'll hook to the previous request for a Cyberpunk conversion... has anybody ever worked on a conversion between Warhammer 40k and Hero? I really think it's one of the best setting ever created, and it would be lots of fun to play it with the best system , besides can anybody point me to a good source of WH40K background? I ponly have a scattering of books but I'd like to have more infos about power players, personalities, planets etc....

As you may have seen, the HERO System Asian Bestiary is scheduled for 2005. What this means is I have the rest of 2004 to make it better. What I'm looking for is books with information in creatures of Asia (specifically southeast Asia), India, Mongolia, and so on. And by books I mean reference books. not other companies RPG books. I want to go straight to the source and no duplicate things seen elsewhere. Thnak you in advance.

To celebrate the impending ship-out-to-the-pritners of the HeartQuest Revised Edition, I was wondering if there was anyone here who had both HQ and the HERO System wo\ho would be interested in converting some of the sample charactres to HERO, mainly so I can see how you interpret their rather loosely-defined abilities.

As I wait with bated breath for HQR to get back from layout (and for my convention to be finished this weekend), I found myself coming up with some strange character ideas. I was wondering if people would be interested in helping me write them up. 1. A teenage girl who was raised by a single mother, whcih is tough enough. On her 16th birthday, though, she discovers that she has this incredible thirst that no normal drink can quench. Turns out that her missing father was, in fact, a vampire! (In this world, vampires can breed with humans and reproduce in this way rather than by "converting" humans -- in effect, "homo sapiens draculis" is a subrace o…

Ok, there is a chance I will be GMing a horror campaign in the next few months. The campaign will center around an evil god who is trying to be reborn. She will guide the heros from one encounter to another in the form of a spirit protector. Somtimes pitting them against enemies she wants eliminated, or guiding them into various horrific encounters with the supernatural and un-natural to build them up for an especially difficult elimination. First game will be the characters driven to investigate a haunted house they will be locked in for the night (with the evil one 'helping' them settle the restless spirits and find a way to survive the lurking horror. Fr…

Hey, I've noticed that a lot of the characters who give quotes in the various books are eventually statted out as NPCs, which leads me to believe that the authors or artists had some concept that they started from. Which leads me to one of my favorites: Tajiri, Robo-Samurai, from Ninja Hero. What's this guy's story? Can we look forward to seeing him statted out? Anybody have any idea how they'd do this character? Mike, any ideas?

If the theory is ture, and there is indeed an infinity of parallel universes, then somewhere everything happened. Now suppose there were things in these alternative universes that someone on this Earth wanted to retrieve. never mind how he knows about them. Never mind why he wants them or why they are of any value. The point is that you, P.C. Hero, and your colleagues have been given the task of retrieving these things for him. Oh, and did I mention you can;t go home until you have them all? The mechanism by which you go between dimensions is not that important, and is out of your control anyway. All you know when you arrive at a new universe is that there …

BubbaHo-Tep It just occured to me that bubbahotep aside from being a very cool horror / comedy/ elvis is alive / eldercare movie that there is just some great monster movie schticks that can be used for a pulp / horror type game. Anyway worth seeing if you can find it. It's playing in very limited release and the web site does a way better job of explaining it than I am.

About six months ago we hopped into the wayback machine and started a new campaign in the late 19th century. The campaign is, well, I guess you would most closely classify it as Horror. Lots of zombies, werewolves, vampires and demons lurking in dark alleys. All players are in the Standard Hero range (75 + 75). We are having a much better time than we ever did with Champions, except for combat. We played Fantasy Hero for a while and the extreme bloodiness of combat was not too big of a deal thanks to the friendly-neighbourhood-cleric-in-tow. But these characters don't have that benefit. We have tried adding a magic charm or three, but that is rather hokey a…

***Please don't hate me, I like the idea of super charged martial artists fighting in a world where the good guys are good and the bad guys are better. It's a change from playing in a lovecraft meets Generic Fantasy game #44 world.**** ok, i just started playing in a new Dragon Ball Z (altenate universe and set in the future of their world to boot.) PBEM and I realised that my character had a bunch of attack, defence, and movement. I realised I was missing out on alot of the fun stuff, so I decided to create some more "non combat but cool moves" for if I ever gain EXP. So I watched my tapes and went and stole from Surebrooks stuff. (Seriously Susano, you a…

Back when Justice Inc first came out almost all the examples used the same three characters: John Hawkstar (the SJH) Tom Electric (the SL) and The Green Spectre (the AEV) but there were never any write ups for any of these. Is there any chance that we might finally see some write ups for these classic characters in next year's Pulp Hero?

IIRC there was a chart of Aura colors and what they represented in the old Justice Inc. book. Will a similar chart be in the Pulp Hero book? If not would DOJ or someone be willing to reprint it either in DH or for the free stuff section?

I got to see a few episodes of this anime at DunDraCon and I'm very curious about the way people would handle gun-toting nuns who shoot demons (that is, the ones who aren;t so horrieid by the predations of their bnretheren that they join forces with them). I'm going to see if I can find a few episodes for myself to get a better idea of what's going on. At least Roestte dresses modestly, which is more than can be said for a lot of anime nuns. Then again, many people find cute, young nuns incredibly sexy. It's as if you keep hoping they'll say "I did take a voiw of chastity -- but in your case I'll make an exception...."

I am considering running an Espionage campaign and am having difficulty decided what Point Total I should set for characters. I want the campaign to be highly cinematic ala James Bond with perhaps a little less focus on gadgets. What would you suggest?

Wow, it sure is bright out here away from the NGD discussion boards... anywho... Does anyone have any conversion resources for Warhammer 40K to FRED? Gonna try to introduce a group of war gamers to RPGs but I don't know Warhammer well enough to do the conversion myself. Thanks in advance to any who can assist.

Hiya all, I just picked up HeartQuest and upon first look through, it looks like a pretty good book. It got me thinking about the anime genre, and was curious if anyone out there uses the Hero system to RP in anime? I know that Guardians of Order has an anime game (Big Eyes, Small Mouth), but have not tried it yet. Polaris
