Back by popular demand! This file, which is also available for free from the Hero Games Online Store, contains all the errata known to me as of today. If you find an errata in the core rulebook which isn't listed here, please PM me to inform me about it. Please don't post it here, because I may not see it. Sending it to me directly ensures that I won't overlook it. 6E Errata 2020-02-09.pdf

Well it’s a question more that a statement. This probably belongs in the Fantasy section but since the same could be said in any Heroic setting that uses melee weapons I figured I would put it here. Any way a bastered sword or battle axe do damage equivalent to most 2 handed weapons and allows a person to use a shield and for a +2 or +3 DCV bonus. I have only one person in my current campaign that uses a 2handed weapon and that is because they are fluff oriented. Especially since with his strength he could be wielding a one handed weapon and only loose a single DC. Has any one else noticed this or am I reading to much in to it. I was thinking about razing the DC a…

Have very many players in the experience of others on the board taken -0 limitation or zero point disadvantages just for flavor?

Where is this rule, and what does it mean? If possible, can I get page references for both The Combat Handbook & 5ER? I've seen it mentioned a few times, but I'm lost as to where to find it.

Hi Folks Playing a mystic in a supers villan game, with an Active Cost limit of 60pts. Looked at the guidelines for Power Frameworks; EC, MP and VPP; found EC and MP, tell me and give me examples of the Active Cost. For example EC, Pool 30pts + 30pts slot = 60 Active Points. Now the examples for VPP, tells me that the Pool costs 1pt per pt and that the cost of the Control Pool is 1pt per 2pts in the Pool and that the Active Point Limit for the VPP slot is equal to the Pool and that all the VPP slots added together can't have an Active cost greater than the Pool. I know that i'm probably just being stupid and that the answer to my question will be that the Active…

How do you make this: Some critter (maybe plant or animal not sure yet) shoots something (seeds, quills, egg) which causes damage. If the seed/quill/egg isn't removed it grows/hatches causing more damage and is possibly a dangerous mini-critter. Thanks in advance.

Herodom, I am in the process of statting a starhip carrier, and was wondering: how would you stat a carrier's ability to refuel and refill military ordnance on a starfighter? Assume that the fighter has some weapon with the Charges limitation. I am currently leaning towards simply ruling the carrier as a suitable location to restore charges, much the same way as a base. Anyone can come up with an alternative?

the magician has this spell => Stone Skin Armor 6 PD/6ED Base: 18 Hardened (+1/4) Active: 22 Cost Endurance (-1/2) Gestures (-1/4) Incantations (-1/4) Requires a Magic(Earth) roll (-1/2) Increased End Cost (X3, -1) Extra Time (Half Phase; -1/4) to activate Real : 6 (still 6 without the Extra Time) (Note: Underlined limitations are mandatory and cannot be removed. I have added an Extra Time (half phase at least) on all non attack spells because the campaign tends to be a crossworlds one, thus technos, psionics, mutants, etc..... may be encountered and i want the cost of powers to be fair.) - An important law i've said to the players:…

I have a character! (and there was much rejoycing... yeah) Well, he's blind, but has some spiffy goggles that "see" for him. They are bought as Spatial Awareness, Range, Discriminatory, OIF (actually OAF, but for some reason nobody's gonna try and take them away from him in combat). Here's how they work (SFX): The goggles emit a particle that gives off some kind of "wave" or "pulse" when it contacts matter, and begins to degrade, continuing to give off this wave/pulse thing until it is destroyed. The goggles pick up this wave/pulse, and depending on the "frequency/intensity" of it, they map out all the obsticles in the path of the particle. Sending out millions …

I was reading through some old indi comics and ran across something I'd like to see duped in HERO rules. It seems the lead in this comic had a gun that stunned people but went through doors/ walls/ robots rather effectively. It may be a personal failing but I can't seem to think of a way to do this in HERO. The problem is that the gun does NOT switch between types of shots. The same setting will cut through a door or stun the guard in front of it. I can see how this could be built as a VPP no time no skill limited to only 2 powers but that seems like overkill. Could am MP be shoehorned to do this? Perhaps variable advantage? How would You build it?

As in 'Brand spanking new idea for a killing attack mechanic', so now you're here anyway you might as well have a look at it... So, I’ve been thinking about killing attacks. I am not keen on the way Hero does it, but I’m not here to argue that it should be changed generally. What I do plan to do though is to change it in my games. Here’s how; see what you think and please tell me if you spot any potential problems. Ay Thenkew. 15 points for 1d6 (3DC) of killing attack. Nothing new there then. The trick though, is what you do with it: Roll your KA dice, and subtract resistant defences. The resultant total is then rolled as a normal NND…

a character in our campaign has a .44 desert eagle, but bought it as a multipower because he is an inventor and has invented different types of ammo for his guns. Each slot it a different clip of ammo (obviously bought with charges). because he bought it as a multipower, our gm ruled (GM discresion) that he couldn't have a second one for 5 points. So now the player wants to buy a second gun as another multipower, but use the same clips as the first gun. (If he has the double-knockback bullets in gun A, he can't have them in gun . How would this be build, or what sort of limitation can he put on the second multipower that "uses same charges as other multipower…

I'm running a fantasy campaign where the characters start with 40+40 points. At that level, the difference between 2 SPD and 3 SPD is so huge that I introduced SPD of 1.5, 2.5, and 3.5 so that characters with above-average DEX can get some benefit without having to spend a relatively large number of points on SPD. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this, and how it worked, or if I'm just crazy (although you might think I'm crazy for running a campaign with normals in the first place!)

I read in the paper today that a new 5 shot revolver is on the market now for $980. It is different, because it is the first firearm to feature a .50 Calibur round. I'd quote the article if I hadn't misplaced it but it is said to have the stopping power to take down a charging bear. Any idea what the write up for that would be? My initial guess would be 2d6 RKA, Double Knockback, Charges 5, Real Weapon.

Well, I've been contemplating the way Star Hero suggests typical robots and androids should be built, and I agree almost completely. However, I have a few points I want to go over concerning androids and robots. Not a real disagreement with the rules, mind you, but just some... topics for discussion and contemplation. Let's look at Talents for a moment. A few Talents are conspicuously missing from the official recommended Talents for androids and robots which I believe warrant consideration. For example, take Ambidexterity. It stands to reason that any android ought to have Ambidexterity, as the phenomenon of dominant and recessive hands/ eyes/ legs is a purely …

I know I saw a way to do this somewhere, but I cannot figure out where, so I call upon the transinfinite wisdom of the boardgoers. For those of you who watch Xiaolin Showdown, you'll probably figure out what I'm getting at more easily. Using the Fist of Tebigong as an example ... To activate the Fist, you call out its name; it has an Instant effect (you pound stuff with it), however you don't have to call out its name every time you want to swing; the activation lasts a little while after you turn it on, but it doesn't really qualify as Constant because you aren't forced to continuously swing (and, of course, have to roll to hit every time). There are no lim…

I'm just porting a 5ER character to 6th edition, and taking the opportunity to update a little bit as well (5 years will have passed in game, so its a good excuse). The concept: the character teleports, and is 'out of phase' for a few seconds after teleporting. So, if he keeps teleporting around, he'll stay 'out of phase'.. if he skips teleporting for whatever reason.. he'll return to normal and is vulnerable. I'm planning to model the 'out of phase' using Damage Reduction and/or Resistant Protection (so.. 0END, normally persistent defences).. I would like the defences to stay up if he's Stunned. The question is - how would you build the relationship betwee…

I'm trying to come up with how to implement an 'en passant' maneuver that works as an extra HTH attack under limited circumstances (mainly triggered by an opponent doing a half move -- like standing up or taking a step) on an opponent in or passing through an adjacent hex. I'm not sure whether to build it as +1 SPD, as an Extra Limb, as a martial maneuver, as a triggered attack, or as an MPA. Is there something I'm overlooking on how to simply implement this idea I've seen in other games (chess, for one) for exploiting an opening created by an opponent's tactics?

One of the players in an upcoming game wants a Spiderman like character. One thing Spidey can do is shoot a web at a target and then pull it towards him. I am up in the air on how to mimic this mechanically. There seem to be three basic approaches: TK with a suite of limitations to reflect the webbing and that it uni-directional. Stretching though a focus. One benefit is that if the target is immovable, the Spidey character could pull himself to that target via this. Flight UAA with a suite of lims. It gets the job done for cheap but I try to avoid Movement Powers with UAA. Things like Double+ KB blasts with indirect can…

Reading this question to Steve made me think... Really what's going on here is that the spirit character can use the corpse to affect the physical world... an interesting idea then manifested - 1. A naked "Affects Physical World" with the limitations "IIF:Corpse of Opportunity" and "Side Effect:Must fulfill something left undone [in life] by target corpse" and "Side Effect: takes any damage done to Corpse" Perhaps for clarification we could add something like "Can only use one Corpse at a time -0" - though some may think that too cheap of a solution... it effectively turns the corpse into a Focus (which is really what it is). 2. Buy all t…

I'm running a campaign where the characters the PCs have to save is possessed by a demon by the evil organization that kidnapped him - and this 'possession' is triggered when the character hears a certain sound and is triggered off by the same sound. I already know the way he's triggered into this transformation [Accidental Change: Certain Noise Always (Common), right?], but how else would I set this up? If it's necessary, the demon the character's possessed with has yellow-ish eyes, supernatural strength, and has no moral code whatsoever - he's heartless. Am I making any sense?

It could very well be just me, but I honestly have a little bit of difficulty finding some place comfortable to sit and read the Hero System book. It doesn't balance well on my lap, and all other surfaces are uneven or have something that just gets to me. So basically, I pose this question: How do you all go about reading it, when you're not GMing or using it in a game? Also, hi everyone, I'm new. Just bought the book. Yay.

Just a quick rules question to check my thinking... Designing a radiation-based hero who projects an area of "normalized" environment around himself. Keeps the area at a comfortable temperature and safe levels of radiation (so he could safely lead a group through a disaster area, for example). I was trying to build this as a Change Environment power, but it got sort of clunky and the available options didn't seem to address the radiation issue. I was wondering if it would be valid to buy Life Support: Safe in Hot, Cold, High Rad, with the advantages Usable Simultaneously (All nearby) and Inherent. I saw these options when I was playing around in Hero Desig…

"He was . . . he was 'about'. He was about twenty, or about thirty. On Watch reports across the continent he was anywhere between, oh, about six feet two inches and five feet nine inches tall, hair all shades from mid-brown to blond, and his lack of distinguishing features included his entire face. He was about . . . average. What people remembered was the furniture, things like spectacles and moustaches, so he always carried a selection of both. They remembered names and mannerisms, too. He had hundreds of those. "Oh, and they remembered that they'd been richer before they met him." Moist von Lipwig, the anti-hero of Terry Pratchett's Going Postal and Making Mone…
