Hello again friends, I have been off the boards other than the random trolling session for the last .years. During that time I have moved twice, gotten married and all but given up on my life long past-time. Cut to today and I live north of Seattle and I may have just gotten over my last game group of almost a decade. I still talk to some of my friends from the group at random, but armed with the knowledge that I am not going to move back to Boise I have to seek new adventure with like minded people. I am a GM looking for players. I can join a group that already has a GM, but honestly I haven't had much experience over the last 30 years on the other side of th…

I am going to start a new game that is inspired by the TV show Gotham (and Arrow, and others). This will be using the Dark Champions The Animated Series type of characters but with a twist. All characters (including the PCs and villains) are just starting out. The game will be played on rpol.net Every character will be the newest of the new. Wet behind the ears and so forth. This will also go for the would be villains. We will be using Champions 6th Edition with only 200 total points. With 50 complications (not added to the 200) So, what does it mean it's Gotham inspired? This means that each character will start out as a pretty much normal person…

Checking to see if there would be any interest in a Dark Champions style game, roughly 300 starting points, with a house rule of no VPP or multipowers, and limiting megascale. A once a week game for 3 hours, with 4-6 players. Think characters at the netflix superhero level, plus vampires and werewolf's similar to Underworld. Supers are out in the public, but its new. Supernaturals are still hiding. There would also be guns. Tech level would be close to 2020 real. I'm thinking 6th edition. I might be able to drag in 3 people.

Greetings! So far facebook, meetups, and, sadly, this forum don't seem do well when trying to find other hero game groups (at least in my experience thus far). Does anyone know of any other places where one can search/find hero game groups/players? Our current 3 member group is in the Orlando, FL area and we would like to expand/add more members or join any other existing hero game groups within our driving reach. Thank you!

Sort of. We will build agents of 50 points of characteristics and skills, +50 points of spy gadgets and weapons, with 50 points of disads, in Hero 3, 4, 5, or 6. We use the Hero rules but play through this module: I will GM. It will be entirely by email (that's my shtick). I will mostly follow the module but room must be left for artistic license! Respond here if you might be interested. PM me instead if you're shy. Or just post ideas to jazz this experiment up!

I really really want to play Fantasy Hero, but I'll play any genre and any edition. I'm in Hillsboro but don't mind making the trek to Portland as long as it's not on a weekday evening.

Hero Central, a place online where you could play various flavors of Hero in a play by post format, has been gone for a long time (since 2014, if I remember correctly). For those of you who played on Hero Central, did you move your games elsewhere, or just stop playing in that format? Are there any current sites out there that function as a replacement?

We are all pretty much in isolation these days, opportunities for socializing at a minimum. The tabletop gaming group I normally play with weekly, has taken our game on line for the time being, awakening me to the relative ease and pleasure of still being able to play. We are most of us actually interacting with text even, and still it's WAY better than nothing. My regular group gave up on playing Hero sadly, because after five years of playing, half the players still didn't know what dice to roll. They were utterly uninterested in learning any rules set at all. So now we are playing D&D 5e, and they still don't know what dice to roll half the time. All th…

Wanted Players in Edmonton: I'm looking to put together a 2-3 person RPG group to play in 2-3 rotating campaigns. Whether you are new to the role playing scene or have been around since Chainmail evolved into D&D, I'm more than happy to consider you as a player. I want to put together a group to meet weekly, but would consider bi weekly, on the same day, at the same time, hopefully in the same place. This of course will be subject to change on account of holidays and family type stuff that pops up every now and then. The first 2 campaigns will be a Fantasy Campaign set in a home brew world that friends and I have been working on fo…

Planning a Standard Superhero level game (400 points, 75 in Complications). Basically using the Champions Universe (with the occasional odd tidbit ‘borrowed’ from other places). For those unfamiliar with the Champions Universe It’s a kitchen-sink type of setting, heavily influenced by the comics published by ‘The Big Two’. I favor clear distinction between good and evil (very limited shades of grey), with a feel more ‘four-color’ than ‘grim-dark’. Experience with Hero System not required - I enjoy teaching the system to new players. You can ping me here or via Discord (John Desmarais#6750) if interested or if you have questions.

So I know this is my first real post on here, but I figured I might as well give it a go as all other avenues have been exhausted. I am currently living with a roommate that... well, to be honest, he will not quit about getting someone to run a HERO System game for him. Specifically 6th edition. Now... I am no GM. I have told him thus. Yet he is basically just kinda aggravating and incessant about me running a HERO System game... so I caved. I'm currently running a local game for him and another roommate... but I am running so far out of steam, it's not even funny. I have bare minimum knowledge of the system enough to even play a character, much less run it. …

Looking for 1-2 players for an All New, Totally Different, Near Future Champions Universe campaign. Characters will be members of an official superhero team for an orbital space station metropolis, Solar City. While I use elements from a number of superhero campaign settings, CU conceits will generally apply. Game will start up officially May 28th with a Session Zero but hopefully there will be a lot of campaign discussion before then. Roll20 listing can be found here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/115166/solar-city-champions Hope people are interested!

I want to do a "pick-up" game of Champions, where it's really sandboxy and not overplanned. I remember games where we basically started with whose Hunteds showed up and winged it from there. This is that kind of game. It has to be by email, due to time restrictions and internet restrictions on my end. Submit characters by posting here or by sending a Private Message. Or ask questions. Just send me or post the standard level of character with the standard amount of Disadvantages. You can send me a character in 3rd, 4th, or 5th Edition. I can work across the systems. Game is set in 1981. If there is interest, my pl…

I'd love to either run Fantasy Hero or play in a game via VTT. Now, I saw Epic used for a game, but I wasn't very enthusiastic about it overall. I saw some Roll20 ads, again it didn't grab me as a platform either. I have Fantasy Grounds, but I don't have a custom ruleset for it. I could set up a game though, using that. I have an ultimate license, so players with even demo versions could play as well. I haven't checked it out in a while, but there is another tabletop I picked up iTabletop. I'm going to check that out as a possible avenue. Any interest? Any other suggestions?

Does anyone have recommendations for the best forums to find/start a play by post, Hero System game? Considerations would be, a Hero System playing community, any special features like limited visibility posting (I miss this so much from Hero Central), access? Personally, I find games on real-time chat type sites like roll20 too time-consuming in a single block of time for me to commit.
