Once known as Greenfield, this area was the site of major devastation. Hundreds of buildings burned to the ground. Many were destroyed in the initial blast. Federal emergency dollars are at work repairing the damage which might take years. Over 65% of this neighborhood was damaged or destroyed. Many could not move out of the neighborhood and live like refugees. Flights overhead show a stark line of rubble vs existing housing/offices/industrial buildings. Homeless and beggars wander this area. The city council representative struggles to both get more restoration and order here as well as protect their seat on the council as many within the city have suggested the unaffected areas be merged with existing districts.
