  1. Re: What "Pulp" have you read lately ? Justified is damn good story-telling and it does play out like a crime pulp. (I was happy to see Graham Yost, the was the force behind the short-lived Boomtown, resurface with Justified.) ABC's The River is unadulterated pulpy horror goodness. It isn't perfect, but I give them high marks for trying something different and for an having an interesting story-telling style. Alrighty, back to reading my books about SF.
  2. Re: What "Pulp" have you read lately ? It's funny, I've done very little reading of actual Pulp titles although my Dad went throw a radio serials period, so I've heard my share of recordings. Based on a comment by Steve Long, I'd really like to get into reading some of the many tales about The Spider. There's a very cool looking reprint of the "Black Police" trilogy re-titled The Spider Vs. The Empire State. In this title The Spider takes on an army of jack-booted fascist thugs that have managed to take over the New York State Legislature. The closest I've to come w/ current reading is the Pulp Hero book itself. It's nice to have a feeling for the entire genre and I'm sure the book has a nice bibliography for further reading. Most of my reading time is being taken up by my research for running a Pulp Game set in San Francisco and is currently confined to historical research.
  3. Hey Guys, I'm letting go of a minty, still in factory shrink-wrap box set of Justice, Inc., from the grand old year of 1984. I've still got my player's copy, but I've got to fund the holidays somehow! Find it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250537573212&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT Would love to see it stay in the Hero family. Auction ends Sunday. Thanks! cP
  4. Re: Fantasy Hero Resources page I look forward to really exploring this cool looking resource when I've got some time!
  5. Re: Master Lists in Danger Cool... I'm glad to hear it looks like this is moving along... it would've been a shame to lose that resource. Thanks again, g-a.
  6. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Yeah, I remember that, I'll add it to my queue.
  7. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Someone explained the concept of the Uncanny Valley to me after watching that trailer... That explained why it looked so bad... ... but anyway, I've been watching the first season of Friday Night Lights. A freakin' awesome show. A show that should be watched even if you don't like football or Texas. There's tons of brilliant and honest writing in it. Never seen teenagers handled so well on TV.
  8. Re: [Review] Equipment Guide Cool. Can you post your word counter somewhere (in your sig file?) so that we can all egg you on? And, oh yes, good luck.
  9. Re: [Review] Equipment Guide So, looks like you're going to hit 10,000 posts today... Sweet.
  10. Re: [Review] Equipment Guide Ah, so it's choice (C.) A helpful mutation and no TV!
  11. Re: [Review] Equipment Guide I've found this is a good resource to have near-to-hand when I'm running campaign games or convention games. 'Cause, well, you just never know. Is this available as a pdf? I assume so... it'd be a good idea to make up a set of cheat sheets that are just the weapons tables for a quick and dirty reference. (Using the idea of the Quick Reference Table you suggest above.) GA--you obviously do yeoman's work on these reviews. May I ask where all the time this must take comes from? Do you have a job that allows you to do some Hero stuff on the side... or is it your dotcom millions that fund your obsession? Of course, feel free to ignore my question if it's too personal... as always, I'm very impressed with your level 'o commitment.
  12. Re: The Game: Consumer Recreation Services (CRS) Let me think about the Acting part a little... Are we talking a working professional or somebody trying to get in the business?
  13. Re: The Game: Consumer Recreation Services (CRS) Sounds cool... Would you mind filling the lazy among us (that would be me) in a little more about the movie?
  14. Re: Cool Guns for your Games Good images as always.
  15. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Radiohead medley time for me... It's good to write to.
