  14. A really long term and or epic curse was often built as independent (enchantment) on a person or the land. Not necessarily needing a focus. However 6th doesn't have independent and in 5th you may be using Create effect as your enchantment. So what does a long term curse or blessing in either look under such a system? If you use create we are talking about some heavy ritual. And how do curse someone afar with Create? Is their other options?

A large number of low powered heroes (250 Pts; 50 Complications). I created them as I am starting a new game with a number of players who have never played Hero. If you take a look at them please feel free to let me know what you think about them. I feel that they are rather powerful even for low point characters.

When in his mother's womb he was damaging her but his mother would not abort her child. She died 6th months into her pregnancy and her child was taken from her womb after her death and surprised the doctors to find that he was fully grown to a baby and in great health. His father took him in but started blaming him for the death of his wife. As time went on he started drinking and started abusing his child. Eventually when in a angry fit he locked his son in a freezer. The boy found the space becoming unbearable (his power activated and made the space sterile) and started pounding on the door. Getting angry his father got a stick to beat his child and opened the freezer. The child jumped out at him and grabbed his face with his hands. The touch did hurt his father but the father then died of a heart attack. Blaming himself for his father's death the boy ran away and began living homeless. Gauntlet is an NPC that can either be a villain or a friend to the heroes. He has a power that he has no control over, a power that will kill people that he has skin to skin contact with. Because of this he considers himself to be a monster and is very protective of the homeless of which he is one as well.

This is a quick, simple 28-page introduction to the some of the basics of the Hero System, especially as it applies to Fantasy Hero. It attempts to walk a new player through some of the system's principles, showing off why Fantasy Hero is worth digging into, but without getting bogged down in math or rules minutiae. The intended audience is someone new to Hero, especially those coming to Hero from D&D or other class-based fantasy systems. The reader is walked through the basics of character creation, three character examples, a sample combat, and a few other bits.

This is the Hero System Universe Timeline written by Steven S. Long and based on work by Steve Peterson and Steven S. Long. I found this online and noticed that it was not available here. It is a 4 page high level brief description of the significant events in the Hero System Timeline from 100,000 BC (before the Turakian Age) through the year 3000 A.D...It was written for 5th edition but it is version agnostic.
  23. I don't have 6e (yet). Did I correctly read somewhere in these forums that extra DCs for Martial Arts cost 4 points each? Is that the correct price? And if so, why? What does HtH Attack cost in 6e? Maybe I've misunderstood. +1d6 with STR costs 5 points, costs END to use, and adds to Lifting capacity. +1d6 HA costs ?, costs END to use, does not add to lifting capacity, and can only be used for normal damage strikes. +1 DC with Martial Arts costs ??, does not cost END to use, does not add to lifting capacity, and can be used with any Martial maneuver, including those that don't do damage, like grabs, disarms, shoves, escapes, etc. And if you have Martial maneuvers, you're never going to be using the corresponding standard maneuvers. As I understand it, the only differences between STR and MA DC are: 1. STR costs END, and DCs don't 2. STR adds to lifting/throwing, and DCs don't 3. DCs are used only with the (better) MA maneuvers Anything else? It seems to me that #3 doesn't really matter to the cost, since you're going to be using the better maneuvers if you have them anyway. #1 should make DCs cost more (0 END is a +1/2 advantage). And #2 is at most a -1/4 limitation on DCs. Thus, MA DCs should cost about 6 each, by my calculations. So what's the deal? What are these costs in 6e? Are they what they should be? I suspect that (if there's a problem here) this topic would have come up before. I searched for it, but didn't find one.

    Hero Grimoire I - Simplified

    Version 1

    47 downloads

This is for campaigns where the point cost of the spell to the character is not the "correct" real cost. Example: The actual real cost of a spell is 30 real point (100 active cost). If, in the campaign, all spells cost 3 characters points then when the character buys this new spell then the spell from this prefab is added to the regular character sheet to reflect/track the expenditure of 3 character points. A second character sheet/HD file is used to track the actual spell and mechanical information (power, limitations, advantages, etc) plus END cost. Designed for 5e and 6e, This is a list of the spells names from the Hero System Grimoire I. They have been converted to 3 point Custom Powers and POWER skills for campaigns that treat spells as either individual skills or charge a fixed cost for each spell. These default to treat all spells skills as INT based and all CUSTOM POWER spells as 3 point spells. Instructions are included that hopefully make it easy to change the skill base characteristics and point costs in mass. You will still need the Hero Designer Grimoire I HD pack and/or Grimoire I book for the mechanics/descriptions of the spells.
