I once began writing a Highlander/Babylon 5 crossover fanfic and referenced this scene. One of my friends suggested that Michael York's character should actually be an immortal suffering from memory loss.

      If you’re thinking in those lines how about Marcus coming back as an immortal?   Jason Carter would swing a pretty cool sword.

Someone wrote that years ago. I vaguely remember reading about it. I don't remember how it ended, but I remember Ivanova knocking Jason out when she discovered he was alive.

 

There's also a story about Marcus being revived a few centuries later, and he somehow cloned Ivanova. JMS himself wrote the story, so it's considered canon.
