I just got my physical copy of The Island...

 

Any recommendations for the replacements for Vibron, Armadillo, and Lazer for people who don't actually have Champions Villains Volume 3? Well...Arrowhead can easily replace Lazer, you can use Kinetic change the name and change the disadvantages into a more evil state, and the replacement for Armadillo I honestly don't know.  Maybe Shrinker?

 

The idea is basically you have Champions Complete, so why not use it.

I was on the fence about that.  I wanted to keep the adventure as close to the original release as possible, even resurrecting long-forgotten characters in the process.  Jason gave me the OK to reprint the missing characters, but I eventually decided I'd rather encourage people to get the Champions products than just reprint stuff.  But yeah, repurposing existing characters from Champions Complete definitely works.

Another great place for replacements for villains you don't have yet is the Hero System Book Of Templates.

 

Armadillo replacement:

Any hero with an unusual movement and/or protection ability, like:

Acrobatic Ape Man (p5),

Arachnid Guy (p6-7),

Immovable Man (p15),

Steel Man (p24),

Stone Guy (p25),

Teleporting Demon (p28),

Winged Flyer (p31)

 

Vibron replacement:

See Armadillo replacement list, but only focus on movement.

 

Lazer replacement:

Focus on ranged damage attackers like:

Fabulous Gal (p10),

Fiery Teenager (p13),

Fire Controller (p14),

Queen of Weather (P20-21),

Snowman (p23),

Uncontrollable Eye Blast Man (p30)

 

Of course, shifting is required. You'll probably want different skills and disadvantages for a more villainous take.

Well what you could do is take the existing CC characters and just do some minor editing to get those three characters.  If figure that if CT was going to reprint them then Vibron would be his old human version not his alien version? And I would think that CT would like to use the simpler cover soon of said characters too?

 

So roughly Vibron can be Green Dragon minus the martial arts and add a high HA to represent his Vibration punch and some running.

 

Armadillo can be a knock off Defender with less Blaster options add Claws and Tunneling. Also Armidillo has 50 STR through his armor. And OG version he was straight up Normal without Armor. 

 

Lazer has a back pack with flight and a *ahem* Lazer gun and some armor. So you could steal Black Harlequin and add those to him.

So I tried to remake the island in a map maker program, any suggestions?

Looks pretty good, a bit more square than the original island, but that's hardly significant.
