missionz3r0
Specifically when talking about powers. It ups the CP cost of the power, but I can't for the life of me figure out what the quantity field is and how it relates to the level field. Looking at this screen specifically:
HeroGM
For 5 extra points (6th Ed, vol 2) you may have extra of the same thing. All the quantity is doing is saying you have more then one of that item. So if my thief has 6 daggers I can put it to six and it'll make an automatic note saying so. missionz3r0
Huh, so in the context of powers it doesn't really have a use?
Simon
Depends on the Power -- want twin laser beams shooting from the eyes? Buy one and then double it. Don't really care about the effect of two lasers, just the SFX? Ignore the quantity field.
HeroGM
Or even twin pistols as one of Dr. Destroyer's minions uses.
unclevlad
Buy 2 HKAs defined as swords...now you have Off Hand Defense. A big use is for Teleport Locations. For fixed locations, buy 5...then use Quantity. It's x2 for 5 points...then x4 for 10, x8 for 15, etc. There are many powers where it won't make a lot of sense, or at least, won't make sense most of the time. But it can always make sense with the right limits...basically, think Fantasy Hero, and single-use magical items. That's why it's always included...better to have it and not need it.
