unclevlad
Murder Must Advertise. Dorothy Sayers. HATE that her works are still under copyright, but...there it is. Mystery stories meet the comedy of manners, with brilliant use of language.

unclevlad
(alternate P: Penric's Demon, Lois McMaster Bujold. Probably just a novella but the first of what's now a nice series. Bujold makes the prices on these quite reasonable too.) Queen of Sorcery. OK, if Lord Fuzz can do book 1, I'll do book 2. Hint here: don't get the single-volume complete set. It's a BADLY bound hardback that's falling apart on me. You can *sometimes* find Eddings' books on Kindle for cheap, but not often, and the series will vary. Cancer
Star Light, by Hal Clement. It uses many of the same Mesklinite characters as in his earlier classic Mission of Gravity, but in a different star system and with a very different sort of theme. The difficulties of hidden agendas, limited communications due to both hidden agendas and light-travel-time physics play out in interesting ways.
