Six ordinary-looking people were already waiting quietly in the meeting room when Agent Carter walked in. She closed the door firmly behind her, muffing the chatter from the rest of the Bletchley Park

"How's it going, sailor?" came a gruff voice behind one of the submarine personnel.   The sailor turned around and swallowed. It was hard to get used to all the weirdness around here, "Well

Two picks for today as didn't pick yesterday

Detective: Wolfgang von Strucker, Baron
Patriot: Johann Schmidt, the Red Skull

I'm not one to meddle, Bazza, but are you sure you want villains on a hero team who has to pick an enemy target to attack at the end of the draft? They would have to have a target inside Europe, or the Pacific Theater as the final pick.

When a yankee boy
Graced a ride along
With his father to Africa

He got bit by a cobra long

Saved by mongoose blood was he
And developed superspeed!

This talented youth
would fight so we could be free

When the Axis thorns
pierced our democracies so sweet
Along came our Whizzer

Our hero so fleet!

Tip your hat to your Whizzer
O' fans be not so picky
O' fans be not so picky, oh
Tip your hat to your Whizzer
O' fans be not so picky!

He too saved the world

And fought the Axis Horde

His name might be silly

but with Miss America he scored!

He once saved Budapest

Paris and all the rest

He stood up for humanity

and damn gave it his best!

His is an epic tale

So what if he had mediocre sales?

He defeated the villains!

Gee whiz, he was swell!

Tip your hat to your Whizzer

O' fans be not so picky, oh
Tip your hat to your Whizzer!

A mighty speedster was he!

I've probably been around here too long. I figured out that this was Hermit's work two thirds of the way through in spite of being still in full recovery from my work week. (Or, you know, I wouldn't have had to guess it from the style.) In case you're all chuffed that people are paying attention, Hermit, Aquaman still sucks.

Yes. There is a method in this madness.

I will put one out tonight when I get home. A group is okay as long as they are era specific. Individual members are subject to being drafted. Anyone can pick the monster society, but Hermit has already drafted the founder Mister Mind.

Yup. FIgured while others were dashing for Speedsters I'd snipe proof my golden age villain. He LOOKS goofy (At least in period era art work) but he's one dangerous little wriggler

In case anyone has forgotten what an Anti-Nazi looks like: here is two actual bonafide heroes; and you can freely download a book of their letters & diary entries.

Germans of that time being Anti-Nazi I find easy to believe.  Wolfgang Strucker and the Red Skull being Anti-Nazi....not so much.  There must be some heavy mojo coming down.

"All right, let's see who else you have in..." The General was interrupted by a ruckus from outside his office. A moment later, a large, broad-shouldered man entered, brushing off one last uniformed soldier and closing the door behind him.

"I have come to join in your cause."

The General's face turned red. "Who the devil are you?!"

"I have been called many names in my life. Gilgamesh, Heracles, Hero, a hundred others long forgotten by human history."

The General move to shout again, but the other preempted him. "And why do you want to join us?"

"Because I have seen great evil in my time. Of all the monsters I have faced in my many battles, the one you now face is perhaps the most fearsome. If not defeated, humanity will know naught but destruction, terror, and death for a thousand years."

"And you think you can help us?"

"I can."

"How?" the General burst in. "What can you do?"

"I am a warrior born. I have defeated the Bull of Heaven and fashioned a cloak from its carcass. I have vanquished the fearsome Hydra. I have slain in turn Grendel, his mother the witch-woman, and the dragon. I have..."

"Now wait a minute," the other interrupted. "I've heard this one. Beowulf. He was mortally wounded fighting the dragon. Afterwards, his companions built a funeral pyre and burned his body."

"That is...not exactly what happened. True, in defeating the dragon I was grievously wounded. I entered into a regenerative state to heal. In doing so, my body was surrounded by a healing glow, which to mortal eyes would have seemed very much like flames. My companions left me, no doubt believing that I had saved their kingdom at the cost of my own life. I did not fight again after that for a very long time."

"Well, this is all poppycock," the General retorted. "Legends, fabrications, delusions."

"Perhaps. But he does cut an imposing figure." He handed to stranger a rifle. "Can you use this?"

He looked at the firearm in his enormous hands with something like amusement. "You expect me to fight with this?"

The General scoffed. "My good man, if you cannot use a simple infantry rifle, I don't see..."

The stranger snapped the rifle in half and handed the pieces back. The General's eyes widened even further.

"General," the other man said, "I think we should hear the man out."

All right, guys. This is the state of the draft at this moment with Bazza's picks removed. Since we're not pulling outright villains for the teams, all of his picks were inappropriate. Old Man, give me another home base please.
