Hugh Neilson
I don't believe there are plans to reprint the hardcovers. One advantage of .pdf's is the ability to word search (more pages makes that higher value). Note that an "hh" in wordsearch stands in for the HexMan, making it easier to locate a title or subtitle like a power name. Technically I think Champions Complete is the current "most recent version" of the rules along with some setting stuff & example characters I might go that way. I was under the impression that Champions Complete was 6th optimized for superheroes. Incorrect?
Christopher R Taylor
The "...complete" books are the Hero rules in short hand, then a genre added in for how to apply that to the given genre. Some assumptions are in the writeups (like how this skill would be used in a superhero setting or how this power could be used in a spell example) but the rules are all there for any setting. That isn't *quite* true; there are some things missing from Champions Complete, altho I think this is nitpicking. For example: Mental Entangle. The rules say the defense is Mental Defense, yes, but fail to mention the cost for buying additional defense. In 6E, too, the cost is different, so the text in Champs Complete conflating mental defense with the usual PD/ED, would suggest a cost that's not what's in 6E....as it needs to be, because the + 2 1/4 Advantage still applies, so the 3 points per 2 Def for Mental Def is actually almost *10*...or, the same as +2 PD and +2 ED....
