Circuit City

I worked for Circuit City back in the day. It was not uncommon to hear my fellow employees pronounce the second word starting with the 'sh-' sound. I was filled with unmitigated elation when they went under.

When I was in my senior Research class in high school, we drove 15 miles to the nearest university library to research our papers.

I worked for Circuit City for 9 years. I was lucky that they laid me off about 18 months before they went under, and paid me 10 weeks of severance.

Albums on reel-to-reel tape.

Telephones with dials.

Telephones without dials.

Telegrams.

Latching refrigerators.

Vinyl bench seats without seatbelts.

Taking an hour to bridle and harness the horse and hook it up to the buggy to head into town for the month’s grocery shopping.

And then having to take it all off the horse and brush the horse down when you got back.

Planning.

I thought your list would be more like:

Running woolly mammoths into pits

Painting mural of the hunt on cave walls

Fire!

The Wheel

Domesticating wheat

Transition from hunter/gatherer to agrarian society

etc.

Those, and ...

Roast dodo

Catching the ʻula-ʻai-hāwane for their feathers

Pressganging the foreigners for labor when making another pyramid

Hanging out on the riverbank picking up the Neanderthal girls
