Sounds like he's breaking everyone's scouter.

I think both F1 and the EPL took the weekend off. The off-track drama is quite entertaining when you think about it, the racing is still improving, and there is a small but non-unmeasurable chance of Max Verstappen not winning the drivers championship tis year, and Red Bull's hold on the Constructor's Championship is in serious jeopardy due to the utter catastrophe that has been Sergio Perez' season. And fading drivers being dropped mid-season  id actually happening. I really hope this brings new, talented drivers into the circuit to replace departures.

McClaren's two drivers have come into form and are even winning races -- but a wedge seems to be being driven between them and expecting team orders to be obeyed seems futile. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are both having nreakthrough years, but as often happens they have become furious on=track rivals, and it's costing the team podiums. There are all sorts of rumors about who will fill some of the vacant seats for 2025, like Lewis Hamilton's current spot at Mercedes when he moves to Ferrari next year and who will lose their ride at Ferrari to make room for him.

And is it just me, but when I see the iconic opening with each driver posing for their shots, why does Verstap0pen look like he is being played by an evil Rowan Atkinson? (Atkinson is, in fact, a racing fan and attended Silverstone with one of the teams in the garage).

I need my fix of the next race. But even next week it will need to be delayed, because I'm going to be spending most of the day out with my mother. They are racing Sunday at Azerbaijan.

Adrian Wojnarowski has left ESPN to join his alma mater, St. Bonaventure, as its basketball GM...a role apparently becoming more common, in the new day and age of the transfer portal and NIL.

The reason is burnout, from the constant demand of keeping on top of anything and everything going on in the NBA.

It's a HUGE blow to ESPN's NBA coverage and credibility.

Conditions for the drivers in Singapore were, to put it politely, not good. Lewis Hamilton said he had nearly passed out, and certainly lost some bodily fluids, because his cockpit was so hot and humid. Otyher drivers had similar complaints.

The penultimate race of the season is in Qatar, and the Constructor's Championship may be decided there. The race is on the 1st of December, but last year's Qatar race was also late in the year, and conditions for drivers in that  race were life-threatening. Passing out in the cockpit on an F1 car going 180mph through a hairpin turn is unlikely to have a good result.

Is there an estimate for how many of the guest workers who built the stadiums for the last World Cup (which was in Qatar) never came home because they died there?
