So I just read that the Indiana Fever of the WNBA have fired their head coach. Which seems strange to me. The Fever had the worst record in the League last year, and this year they made the playoffs. And the team had the highest season attendance in league history.

I can't help but wonder if the former coach had a problem with rookie sensation Caitlin Clark, and the organization decided to stick with Clark. But that's just speculation on my part.

Part of what this means is that half of the league's 12 teams will have new head coaches next year. That can't be good.

Some of those look pretty sharp. I particularly like Boston's logo. It harkens back to the old Hartford Whalers. And Minnesota's two-tone purple color scheme works better than I would have thought.

I got to watch the Brazilian Grand Prix from last weekend. The amazing thing is that they finished the race at all. The rain and track conditions were horrible -- some of the worst I have ever seen on a racetrack. But Max Verstappen is only one race away now from clinching the Drivers' Championship, and McClaren's hopes for the Constructors Championship took a large blow, as Lando Norris did not do much to convince everyone that he had arrived in the elite class of Verstappen.

And Marta, arguably the best women's player ever (who until the brazil world cup, was better known in other countries then her own) wins her first NWSL title at 38 years old. My wife won her jersey from back in the WPS Sol days. In the semi-final game against Gotham FC, she showed 2 defenders and the goalie that she still can be that player on a brilliant goal.

I got  solicitation from Seattle Sounders, who have hosting authority for the World Cup games in Seattle.  For $500 I could cut in line for game tickets.  Not ahead of their season ticket holders, but in front of the other scum.  I think I'll pass.
